King vs King: Myvi road rage ends with rotan smackdown

The Sun3 days ago
A heated road rage incident between two Perodua Myvis — an older model and a newer one — has gone viral after a Reddit video surfaced showing both drivers refusing to give way while attempting to merge into the same lane.
The standoff escalated when the older Myvi suddenly rammed into the newer one, after which the driver stepped out with what appeared to be a rotan (cane) and struck the other car before speeding off.
The video has drawn wide reactions online, with netizens dubbing it the 'battle of the kings' — a reference to Myvi's longstanding nickname as the 'King of the Road.'
'The fight we'd love to watch. King vs King. Who is the real king?' joked user @Longjumping-Fly6131.
'Gen Z 1995 vs Gen Z 2003,' added @Malmezo.
Some, like @16Geek, shared their own experience driving in Penang, where the incident was believed to have occurred: 'Remind me to just 'mengalah' next time I'm there. People just brake or change lanes without care. I was once behind a lorry carrying three stacked metal bins — scary stuff.'
Others were concerned over the reckless behaviour. 'Hopefully it got reported, because this kind of driver just endangers others on the road,' said @C-ORE.
User @WayneTheFair commented: 'Poor emotional intelligence. Is it worth damaging your car, and for what?'
Meanwhile, user @miloopeng highlighted the legal risk: 'The old Myvi driver could be charged with jail time for carrying a weapon in the vehicle.'
At the time of writing, authorities have not confirmed if a police report was filed, though many online are calling for action against the driver for endangering public safety and using a potential weapon in a road dispute.

Woken up by a mat rempit orchestra at 3am – Tourist gets the ‘real' Malaysia

A viral Reddit post by a tourist has sparked heated debate about a longstanding urban nuisance: late-night illegal biker gatherings, better known locally as 'Mat Rempit.' Reddit user SerpensMagnus posted a video showing a swarm of noisy motorbikes looping around KLCC in the middle of the night. She wrote: 'I'm a tourist in KL right now. This morning, I was woken up at 3AM by the 'melodic' sound of hundreds of bikers circling KLCC. Is this normal here?' 'I get biker culture in other countries — the roar of powerful engines, the idea of freedom. But this? These tiny 50cc engines buzzing like mosquitoes all night? 'I'm sorry if it sounds rude, but it's honestly the most pathetic thing I've seen. Even worse — my hotel is hosting a police conference all week, and yet no one did anything about it.' Local Redditors were quick to agree — not to defend the bikers, but to express their shared frustration. RedditRitsu commented: 'That's the problem. They're proud of their 50cc mosquito engines and think it's cool, when it's actually annoying.' Possible_Web_6377 shared their experience: 'Yep. I had to move out from the city centre because of them. What I don't understand is why the police don't do anything when everyone hates them.' old-an-tired added: 'I stayed at a hotel near Masjid Jamek and it was impossible to sleep. There's a police station nearby, but no one stopped them.' Even expatriates weighed in. Jeeb183, a French national living in KL for two years, asked: 'Are these guys mostly kids, or really grown-ups? And if they're kids, do their parents know what they're doing?' Others warned that the issue isn't just about noise — it can turn dangerous. SerpensMagnus later explained: 'I didn't want to sound like a rude foreigner judging local culture. But where I'm from, there are strict noise laws.' She revealed she's from Germany, where night silence is taken seriously. 'The airport near my hometown doesn't allow flights between 10PM and 6AM. Even Sundays are quiet — no lawn mowing, no parties, no power tools.' One Malaysian summed it up: 'You weren't rude at all. We locals share the same sentiment. This is the uglier side of our country.' As more voices speak up, the question remains: will this finally lead to change, or will the roar of 'mosquito engines' continue to echo through KL's sleepless nights?

Stealth bomber over Saratok? Police investigate authenticity of image

Reddit user 'Anubiroz' posted the image, saying it was taken by a friend in the afternoon and showed a shape that looked a bit suspicious 'for a kite or a drone.' KUCHING (July 15): Police are investigating the authenticity of an image claimed to be a Northrop B-2 Spirit stealth bomber aircraft flying over Saratok, said Saratok district police chief DSP Mathew Manggie. In a statement today, he said the investigation aims to determine the authenticity of the image, the exact location where it was captured, the identity of the individual who uploaded it, and the intent behind its circulation. 'Initial observations suggest the image resembles a flying B-2 bomber aircraft, although its authenticity has yet to be verified,' he added. He said the Saratok District Police Headquarters (IPD Saratok), in collaboration with other authorities including the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), is investigating the possibility of an airspace violation or deliberate dissemination of false information that could incite public alarm. 'The police will not compromise with any party that spreads false information or causes public unease through social media platforms,' he added. Mathew advised the public to refrain from speculating or sharing the image on social media platforms. He added that any action involving the dissemination of false information may be investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. The police also urged individuals with further information to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting the Saratok district police chief directly at 012-8854849. The image was posted by Reddit user 'Anubiroz', who said it was taken by a friend in the afternoon and showed a shape that looked a bit suspicious 'for a kite or a drone.' 'Taken by a friend near his long house at Saratok in the afternoon… Zoom in… does it look like a kite or a stealth bomber. He said it made a swish sound.. Hmmmm. Looks kinda sus [sic]for a kite or a drone. Any ideas?' Anubiroz wrote on Reddit. Another user, 'Monsta_Owl', commented that it looked like a 'B2 bomber by the looks of it,' a view echoed by several others in the thread. However, several news outlets have since debunked the claim, citing CAAM's confirmation that there was no record of any flight activity resembling a stealth bomber in the area. Some commenters speculated that the object was likely a miniature remote-controlled (RC) model of the stealth bomber. image Mathew Manggie police Saratok stealth bomber
