Former NCT member Taeil sentenced to three and a half years jail for sexually assaulting woman
According to the Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Central District Court delivered the sentence to the 31-year-old yesterday and ordered his immediate detention.
Two other men involved in the same case were reportedly handed identical sentences and also taken into custody.
The three were charged in March for sexually assaulting an intoxicated foreign woman in Seoul in June last year.
They had initially been indicted without detention.
In addition to the prison terms, the court reportedly instructed all three to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment programme, noting that the offence was serious as the victim had been inebriated and unable to resist.
According to the report, prosecutors had sought a seven-year jail term for each of the accused.
Taeil was removed from NCT in August last year following police investigations into the allegations.

Its French head office found suspicious activities on its computer system on June 13 and then discovered on July 2 that it affected Hong Kong customers, the statement said. The office said it had launched an investigation into Louis Vuitton Hong Kong, including whether the incident involved delayed notification. No relevant complaints or inquiries have been received so far, it said. The incident comes after a systems breach at Louis Vuitton in Korea in June led to the leak of some customer data, including contact information, but it did not involve customers' financial information, the company said. Louis Vuitton did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Woman arrested for abandoning baby
The baby was still alive at the time but pronounced dead later that day as he was premature and underweight. PETALING JAYA : A woman was arrested yesterday for abandoning her newborn outside a house in Lahad Datu, leading to the infant's death. Lahad Datu police chief Dzulbaharin Ismail said the 30-year-old suspect was arrested at the Lahad Datu police headquarters. During interrogation, she admitted to giving birth to the baby and placing him outside the house in Kampung Burung. The case is being probed under Section 317 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth with the intent to abandon the baby, which provides for imprisonment of up to seven years, a fine, or both, upon conviction. A member of the public found the baby wrapped in a cloth in front of an unnumbered house at 3.06am last Friday. The baby, who was still alive at the time, was sent to Lahad Datu Hospital for treatment but pronounced dead at 7.02pm the same day as he was premature and underweight.
