Risotto will be 'tastier' and made quicker with one key ingredient swap

Risotto is a classic dish, but this unique twist can make it even 'tastier' Risotto is a straightforward dish that demands little effort and focus, yet it can also serve as an incredibly handy recipe when your fridge supplies are running thin. It pairs beautifully with numerous ingredients, from meat, fish and seafood to vegetables and an array of cheeses, reports the Express. ‌ Nevertheless, one company has revealed their interpretation of the classic Italian meal that involves one significant substitution. In a recent TikTok clip, the Bold Bean Co chose to abandon the essential component of rice for something more aligned with their expertise: beans. ‌ They even gave it a completely fresh moniker. Bold Bean Co Said: "This is not a risotto, this is a bean-otto. If you haven't guessed, we're using beans instead of rice. ‌ "Just like a risotto, the starchiness and the stock you use are fundamental to its deliciousness." They wrote alongside the video: "BETTER THAN A RISOTTO. It's healthier, quicker and most importantly - TASTIER." ‌ For this bean-otto creation, the Bold Bean Co employs white beans or cannellini alongside fresh courgettes, garlic, "generous amounts" of Parmesan, crispy pine nuts, and a substantial drizzle of olive oil. The company remarked: "It is such a winner in this weather." Food enthusiasts expressed their opinions in the responses. Genevieve said: "Can't wait to try!" ‌ Gemma agreed, "Looks delicious," while Suzyd commented, "Since I tried your butter beans I can't eat any others! They are next level." If you fancy adding a twist to your conventional risotto, here's what you'll need. Creamy Courgette Beanotto Ingredients ‌ 1 jar of Organic White Beans/Queen Cannellini Beans with their bean stock 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra to serve 2 courgettes, one coarsely grated, one sliced into 0.5cm rounds 2 garlic cloves, finely grated Zest and juice of ½ lemon 1 heaped tbsp creme fraiche, or plant-based alternative 45g Parmesan cheese (or vegan alternative), plus extra to serve 15g parsley, leaves finely chopped A good handful of fresh basil leaves A handful of pine nuts or sunflower seeds (optional) Method Ensure you squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the grated courgettes. Toast the pine nuts in a dry pan for two to three minutes until they turn golden, then set them aside. ‌ Warm two tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced courgettes with a pinch of salt and cook for seven to eight minutes until they start to brown, stirring occasionally. Next, add the grated courgette and garlic and continue cooking for an additional two to three minutes until the courgettes soften. Grate in the zest of half the lemon. Pour in the beans along with their bean stock, rinse the jar quarter with water and pour that in as well - this serves as a stock. Stir everything together. ‌ Season generously with cracked black pepper. As the white beans are already well seasoned, we suggest tasting before adding any extra salt. Lower the heat and stir in the creme fraîche and parmesan. This process should be fairly quick as you don't want the creme fraîche to separate. Stir in the chopped parsley and tear in most of the basil leaves, reserving some for garnish. Check for seasoning and add the juice of half a lemon. Serve the beans into bowls, grate over some more lemon zest and additional parmesan. Sprinkle over the toasted pine nuts, the remaining basil and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.

Jessie J hints she's moving back to the UK

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page Jessie J has said an emotional goodbye to her Los Angeles home of more than a decade, marking a significant life transition as she continues her recovery from breast cancer. The 37-year-old singer was gearing up for a major comeback but a shock early breast cancer diagnosis has halted her return to the spotlight. Real name Jessica Ellen Cornish, Jessie has shared updates with fans about her diagnosis and had some incredible news for fans in a recent post. Her most recent update came in a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, reflecting on a fleeting visit to LA last month before returning to the UK for a mastectomy. In a short video clip, Jessie is seen jogging through the canyons near her Studio City property, which she called one of her favourite spots during her time in California. 'June 1st, I flew to LA for just under 48 hours,' she wrote in the caption. 'This quick trip was for a little work but also to say goodbye to my LA house (that had just sold) which was my home for just over a decade.' The video showed the singer smiling and laughing with friends as she said goodbye to her LA home (Picture: Instagram) Jessie seemed in high spirits and good health (Picture: Instagram) The move comes at a deeply personal moment for the singer, who recently revealed that she is in the early stages of recovery following surgery. Thankfully, her breast cancer was caught early, giving her a strong chance of full recovery. Jessie described her farewell hike as a meaningful moment, surrounded by close friends and the familiar landscape that became her sanctuary during her LA years. She wrote: 'This hike was my—and will always be—one of my favourite places in Studio City.' She continued: 'So grateful I got to have so many happy years in LA, and to visit quickly before my surgery and see some of my favourite people and make memories like this.' She's kept fans updated on the steps of her cancer journey (Picture: Instagram / jessiej) She has cited her partner as one of her biggest supporters through it all (Picture: Jessie J / Instagram) She first relocated to the US in 2014, citing a desire to escape relentless speculation about her personal life and to be taken more seriously as an artist. Fans got a rare glimpse of her LA home during the 2020 One World: Together at Home concert, where viewers compared her luxe living space to a 'hotel lobby' thanks to its floor-to-ceiling mirrors, chic furnishings, and expansive, light-filled design. In June, Jessie underwent a mastectomy which the Domino singer joked had left her with 'wonky boobs', creating a little difficulty with her outfits until she 'matches them up.' The singer is set to make a major comeback (Picture:) The star has been keeping fans up to date with her recovery and shared earlier this month that she had her drains removed. '2 weeks post-surgery. Had my drain out 2 nights ago,' the Price Tag icon shared in an Instagram story. 'She said, 'breathe in and take a hard breath out.' She whipped that thang out so quick. 'Woii oii. Weirdest feeling. But so nice to have it out after 12 days.' In another post, she thanked her 'superhero' mum who dropped everything to help Jessie and her partner — professional basketball player Chanan Colman — with their son, Sky. The couple welcomed their first child in May 2023, with Jessie getting lots of praise over her candid updates on her postpartum and life as a mum. Jessie has promised that when she is ready, she will finally make her comeback with 'massive t**s and more music.' Got a story? Kneecap banned from entering Hungary ahead of Sziget

The group, who are outspoken supporters of Palestine, were due to perform at Sziget Festival on August 11 and remain on the line-up on its website. Government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs wrote on social media platform Twitter/X that the decision to ban Kneecap was due to its 'members repeatedly engage in antisemitic hate speech supporting terrorism and terrorist groups'. READ MORE: 'One that belongs to you': Jeremy Corbyn reveals temporary name of new party 'Hungary has zero tolerance for antisemitism in any form. 'Their planned performance posed a national security threat, and for this reason, the group has been formally banned from Hungary for three years. 'If they enter, expulsion will follow under international norms.' Kneecap have had several shows cancelled in recent months, including the TRNSMT festival in Glasgow. The group organised a replacement gig at the city's O2 Academy, which sold out within minutes. They are set to perform again at the OVO Hydro arena in November. The trio – comprised of Liam Og O hAnnaidh, Naoise O Caireallain, and JJ O Dochartaigh – were formed in Belfast and released their first single in 2017. READ MORE: Comedian cancels Fringe show over 'terror' charge bail conditions' They hit the headlines recently after O hAnnaidh, who performs under the name Mo Chara, was charged with a terror offence relating to allegedly displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah. In May, the Metropolitan Police said the group were being investigated by counter-terrorism police after videos emerged allegedly showing them shouting 'Up Hamas, up Hezbollah' and 'Kill your local MP', which has since been dropped. The group apologised to the families of murdered MPs and said they have 'never supported' Hamas or Hezbollah, which are banned in the UK. They were also investigated over their set at Glastonbury Festival in June, but last week Avon and Somerset Police confirmed they would be taking no further action.
