Geo-tube along Narsapuram coast to be commissioned by October
The geo-tube, being funded by Deloitte India, would be the second one on the Andhra Pradesh coast. The first geo-tube was installed along the Uppada coast, which is one of the coastal stretches that is witnessing an alarming rate of erosion over the past decade.

IIT-Madras
The Ocean Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, has conducted the feasibility study of the geo-tube, which is being built under the aegis of the Chief Engineer of the Godavari Delta System of the Water Resource Department.
On July 5 (Saturday), Anirudh Sravan Pulipaka, Personal Secretary to Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, and West Godavari District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani inspected the geo-tube works.
In an official release, District Collector Ch. Nagarani said, 'The construction of the geo-tube is in full swing and it is expected to be completed by October'.
Once commissioned, Deloitte India will maintain the geo-tube before handing it over to the Water Resources Department.

All India Radio station to begin soon in Ujjain: MP CM Mohan Yadav
New Delhi [India], July 8 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Tuesday that the state's Ujjain district will be getting its very own All India Radio (Akashvani), after he called on Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L Murugan in Delhi. CM Yadav said that the in-principle approval has been granted for setting up an Akashvani station, and requested for early commencement of the Akashvani centre in view of the upcoming Simhastha 2028, read an official statement from the Chief Minister's office. 'Union Minister Murugan assured support and said the necessary procedures would be initiated. Until the Ujjain studio is constructed, arrangements will be made for broadcast through the Indore Akashvani Centre,' the statement added. After meeting with various union ministers in the national capital, CM Yadav informed that the foundation of a state-of-the-art rail coach manufacturing plant by BEML Limited, Bengaluru (a Government of India undertaking) will soon be laid in Raisen district. According to the statement, the project involves an investment of around Rs 1,800 crore, with participation from the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Ministry of Railways, and the Ministry of Defence. CM Yadav said he has invited Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to lay the foundation stone and held detailed discussions on the importance of the plant. CM Yadav also shared that the Madhya Pradesh government is undertaking major initiatives in renewable energy, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. In his meeting with Union Minister for Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, CM Yadav discussed ongoing projects and expressed optimism about future progress. He highlighted that the upcoming solar parks with a total capacity of 4,200 MW will mark a significant milestone in the state's renewable energy journey. Additionally, collaboration with Uttar Pradesh is underway to develop 2,000 MW of solar power, with an agreement for mutual energy exchange every six months between the two states. (ANI)

Tata Motors Emerges Lowest Bidder For NMC's Articulated E-Bus Project
Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Tuesday finalised as the lowest bidder for its flagship project to launch 25 articulated electric buses along the Inner Ring Road. This marks a key step in realising Union transport minister and city MP 's vision to modernise Nagpur's public transport. According to senior NMC officials, the civic body will now initiate further negotiations to try and reduce the cost before awarding the final contract. The rates are expected to be finalised by July 14, as municipal commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari will hold a negotiations meeting. The 18-metre-long, air-conditioned articulated buses, each with a seating capacity of 55, will exclusively serve high-density routes across the Inner Ring Road. These e-buses are designed for speed, comfort, and low emissions, and are expected to decongest major corridors while improving commuter convenience. The Centre has sanctioned Rs152 crore under an electric mobility scheme to cover bus procurement and infrastructure development. Eight flash-charging stations will be installed at locations such as Sawarkar Layout, Kapil Nagar, Trimurti Nagar, and Besa substation. Each site will support bidirectional charging to ensure seamless turnaround. A 'mother depot' is also proposed for fleet maintenance, charging, and centralised operations. The total project cost, including infrastructure and 10-year operational expenses, is pegged at Rs250 crore. These new buses will be integrated into the existing Aapli Bus fleet of 539 vehicles.

Hyundai, IIT-M join up to indigenise hydrogen tech
Chennai: Hyundai Motor in partnership with IIT Madras and Tamil Nadu govt has decided to open a research and development hub for hydrogen infrastructure, including fabrication of electrolysers, fuel cells and others. The HTWO Innovation Centre aims to indigenously develop technologies with participation from IIT-M researchers and small scale industries. State industries minister T R B Rajaa unveiled the design of the centre on Tuesday. Hyundai Motors contributed Rs 100 crore for the initiative with partial funding through Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), as part of its CSR efforts for clean energy. Spread across a sprawling 65,000 sq ft area within the Thaiyur campus of IIT-M with financial support of the state government, it will feature advanced computational and experimental laboratories. It plans to develop digital twins of hydrogen infrastructure, along with customised test rigs and fabrication lines and pilot-level electrolysers and fuel cells. It will also host test zones for containerised pilot demonstrators for industrial-scale products.
