Form Guide: Who will win at the TV Week Logie Awards 2025

Perth Now19 hours ago
TV's night of nights is just hours away and while the race is still open for stars — with voting closing later on Sunday — it's also a great chance for viewers to suss out shows they may have missed over the past year.
The 65th Annual TV Week Logie Awards features a particularly stacked field of nominees — especially when it comes to that coveted Gold Logie, with more women in contention for the top gong than ever before.
Will it be one of the newcomers like Poh Ling Yeow, Ally Langdon or Lisa Millar? Or will perennial favourite Lynne McGranger take it home for her stellar 33-year run on Home And Away?
Here's our form guide of nominees and tips for winners. Ally Langdon
Hamish Blake
Julia Morris
Lisa Millar
Lynne McGranger
Poh Ling Yeow
Sonia Kruger
Clare's pick: Lynne McGranger
She was on Home And Away for a record-breaking 33 years before retiring earlier this year — surely McGranger deserves to go out with Aussie TV's highest honour? She'll have stiff competition from perennial favourite Hamish Blake and Muster Dog wrangler Lisa Millar. Lynne McGranger. Credit: supplied / supplied Hamish Blake
Julia Morris
Ricki-Lee
Sonia Kruger
Todd Woodbridge
Zan Rowe
Clare's pick: Hamish Blake
Ricki-Lee is fast becoming a favourite reality TV host and Zan Rowe will always have our heart, but something tells us it could be another gong for last year's winner, Hamish Blake. Guy Montgomery, Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont Spelling Bee, ABC

Robert Taylor, Territory, Netflix
Sam Corlett, Territory, Netflix
Sam Neill, The Twelve, Binge/Foxtel
Tai Hara, Return To Paradise, ABC
Clare's pick: Sam Neill
While Robert Taylor and Michael Dorman's emotional performances in Territory both packed a punch, Sam Neill's Brett Colby QC continues to be one of Aussie TV's best-drawn characters — Neill is our frontrunner. Lynne McGranger, Home And Away, Seven Network
Clare's pick: Kaitlyn Dever
OK, so she's not technically one of 'ours', but US actor Kaitlyn Dever delivered a knock-out performance in Apple Cider Vinegar and deserves a nomination. Bonus points for that superb Aussie accent. Fake, Paramount Plus
How To Make Gravy, Binge/Foxtel
Human Error, 9Network
Plum, ABC
Clare's pick: Apple Cider Vinegar
Paramount Plus' Fake and the Binge telemovie How To Make Gravy were both terrific, but Apple Cider Vinegar has to take this one out purely because of its impact and reach — audiences all around the world connected with this very Aussie story. 7NEWS Spotlight, Seven Network

Australian Story, ABC

Clare's pick: Australian Story

Colin From Accounts, Binge/Foxtel
Fisk, ABC
Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan
Melbourne International Comedy Festival, ABC
Optics, ABC
Clare's pick: Austin
Fisk is a definite frontrunner in this category, though there are some worthy contenders, and Austin might just steal it as a first-time sentimental favourite. Colin From Accounts might take this one out again, but our money's on newcomer Austin. Gruen, ABC
Hard Quiz, ABC
Have You Been Paying Attention, Network 10
Sam Pang Tonight, Network 10
Thank God You're Here, Network 10
The Weekly With Charlie Pickering, ABC
Clare's pick: Have You Been Paying Attention
Have You Been Paying Attention took it out last year, and something tells us this crowd favourite will win over voters again this time around. Tom Gleisner on the set of Have You Been Paying Attention Credit: supplied / supplied Alone Australia, SBS
Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II, Network 10
LEGO Masters Australia, 9Network
MasterChef Australia, Network 10
My Kitchen Rules, Seven Network
The Block, 9Network
Clare's pick: Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II
With Jonathan LaPaglia exiting the show later this year, we'd love to see him pick up one last gong for Brains V Brawn II — it's the least audiences could do to honour his legacy. Muster Dogs: Collies & Kelpies, ABC
Shark Tank Australia, Network 10

Ginger And The Vegesaurs, ABC
Hard Quiz Kids, ABC
Little J & Big Cuz, NITV / ABC
Play School, ABC
Rock Island Mysteries, Network 10
Clare's pick: Bluey
We feel for the other contenders in this category — Bluey HAS to take this one out, surely? All are worthy contenders, particularly long-running Play School and the lovely Ginger And The Vegesaurs. Bluey surely deserves another win? Credit: Supplied / Bluey Ally Langdon, A Current Affair, 9Network
David Speers, Insiders, ABC
Michael Usher, 7NEWS, 7NEWS Spotlight, Seven Network
Peter Overton, 9News, 9Network
Sarah Ferguson, 7.30, ABC
Tara Brown, 60 Minutes, Dangerous Lies: Unmasking Belle Gibson, 9Network

She's nominated for Gold, and it's not hard to imagine she could pick up this one as well, due to her tremendous popularity with ACA audiences.

Lynne McGranger is the bookies' fave to take out Gold at the 2025 Logies. She's just pleased to be there

Home and Away legend Lynne McGranger heads into Sunday's TV WEEK Logie awards as the favourite to win Gold. If she takes it home, she won't be the only one celebrating. 'My son-in-law messaged me when the news broke about the Gold Logie,' she recounted this week. 'He said, 'I just got you at $3.50 — I put $100 on you', and then he said, 'That's ridiculous, your odds should be much shorter than that!' 'But then within a week, I was $1.70, so now he is very chuffed. 'If I have to get up and make a speech, I'll make it known publicly that he just made $350 off me!' Jokes aside, taking home the coveted Gold Logie would be a fitting bookend to the 33 years McGranger spent on Home and Away playing the beloved Irene Roberts. McGranger, who first joined the soap in 1993, announced she was leaving earlier this year, with her exit storylines — which see her character coming to terms with a devastating Alzheimer's diagnosis — set to play out over the next few weeks. Fans have been invited to say farewell to a TV legend via a specially created website, . They can also show their love via a vote at the Logies. 'It's humbling and really overwhelming to even be nominated,' McGranger says of her nod. 'If I had known this was going to happen, I would have left (the show) years ago! 'But in all seriousness, I am loving the ride — I really am.' McGranger will take her daughter Clancy as her plus-one to Sunday's ceremony in Sydney, where she is up against Sonia Kruger, Hamish Blake, Poh Ling Yeow, Ally Langdon and Lisa Millar for the top award. All those presenters are well-loved, but there can be no denying Irene holds a special place in many viewers' hearts. 'I am so appreciative of all the support I have been getting,' she says of the messages flooding in via Seven's farewell site. Rusted-on Home and Away fans aren't the not the only ones rallying around her — an Instagram meme page called 'Home and a Gay' has long been championing McGranger's iconic performance via satirical posts. She's appreciative of their support, too. 'Have you seen it? It's so funny,' she says. This week McGranger watched her final scenes at a special screening for cast and crew, admitting it was an emotional moment. Producers approached Aussie songstress Jessica Mauboy to use her track, While I Got Time to play over Lynne's final scenes, also used in on-air promotions for the show. 'And it's very moving — the song just lifts things to another level,' she says. The Logies are just the latest engagement in a jam-packed calendar for McGranger, who has been busier than ever since filming her final scenes. As well as enjoying travel time with friends and partner, Paul, McGranger has also been touring her stage show, The Grandparents Club, across the east coast. 'People come up and say, 'how is retirement going?' And I am like, 'What retirement!'' she jokes. 'I am loving it all and I can't complain, but if you see somebody head-first in their soup at the Logies, that will be me — sleeping!' Netflix's Yosemite series Untamed is really at home in Canada

You don't have to go to America to see the sights of Yosemite National Park — and you don't have to take my word for it. The current Netflix hit series Untamed, starring Eric Bana and Sam Neill, makes much of telling its story in Yosemite. The key piece of action, around which the whole series hinges, takes place on the distinctive El Capitan granite mountain face. But it doesn't. Untamed was filmed in Canada, and the El Capitan in the series is actually Mount Seymour, in Mount Seymour Provincial Park in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Part of the North Shore Mountains, it rises to 1449m above the Indian River. Canada is a complete alternative for those considering touring the national parks of the US. THE STORY Untamed, a six-episode series, was released on July 17 and quickly racked up almost 25 million views, rising to No.1 on the Netflix TV charts for English-language shows. Co-written by Mark L Smith and Elle Smith, it's a mystery-thriller following Kyle Turner (played by Eric Bana), who is a special agent for the National Parks Service, based in Yosemite National Park. He sets out to investigate the death of a young woman who falls from El Capitan, getting caught in the ropes of two young climbers on the granite face. His investigation starts to reveal the dark secrets of the national the park, and in his own past. THE LOCATIONS It has been revealed that the log cabin in which special agent Kyle Turner lives isn't in Yosemite, but in Murdo Frazer Park, again, in North Vancouver Canada. Many of the snow scenes were filmed in Whistler Olympic Park. In the series, some of the action is set at 'Grouse Lake in Yosemite National Park', but this is Grace Lake, in British Columbia. It is close to Vancouver — just take Highway 7 to Harrison Mills, turn left into Morris Valley Road and drive 11km and turn into Sts/Ailes Forest Service Road and you'll find Grace Lake Recreation Site, where camping is CAD $25 ($28). The forested trails of North Vancouver's Greenwood Park provide good locations for the series. Greenwood Park and Kealy Woods Park are in the upper Grand Boulevard neighbourhood of Vancouver, with dramatic bluffs, bedrock outcrops. There's a network of trails through both parks, making them very popular. The Green Necklace greenway (a 7.5km scenic loop), extends north into Greenwood Park and also attracts visitors to the area. There's a quarry in Greenwood Park that is popular with locals for bouldering. Kyle Turner's investigation, with forest ranger Naya Vasquez (Lily Santiago) alongside, leads to a squatter camp, which was filmed in Deroche. It is an 'unincorporated community' of growers at the foot of Nicomen Mountain in Fraser Valley, southwestern British Columbia. There are a number of river gorge hiking scenes in Untamed, and some of these were filmed on Cheakamus River, with rapids and big fir and cedar trees. The river is a tributary of the Squamish River, and scenes were also shot at the Balls To The Wall waterfall, which is famous with whitewater kayakers. The Cheakamus River is synonymous with Whistler kayaking. Just search YouTube to see paddlers on the Cheakamus and shooting Balls To The Wall.
