Ex-WWE star pulled from AEW All In 90 minutes before start time

Metro2 days ago
A major last minute change has been made to tonight's AEW All In event on Amazon Prime Video.
The All Elite Wrestling show – which has an 8pm start time for fans in the UK, the same as WWE's NXT Great American Bash on Netflix – was set to feature former WWE star Adam Cole defending his TNT Championship.
Unfortunately, AEW owner Tony Khan has cancelled his planned match with Kyle Fletcher, and stripped him of the title.
In an announcement made around an hour and a half before the show was due to start, the Fulham FC boss said during a live video on X: 'I cannot clear Adam Cole to go out there to wrestle today, I don't feel good about it.
'I had a long talk with him. I'm gonna ask Adam to take some time away to make sure he's clear, but I do need to vacate the championship.'
Instead, fans will get a '4-Way Fight' for the now vacant championship, with Kyle Fletcher getting three new opponents to determine a new champion.
He will now face Daniel Garcia, Sammy Guevara, and Dustin Rhodes – best known to WWE fans as Goldust – with the winner being crowd the TNT Champion.
The nature of the injury is yet to be confirmed, but fans are heartbroken after Cole has dealt with numerous setbacks since joining AEW in 2021.
'I hope Adam Cole recovers well man, cause vacating the TNT title the day of a big title defense like this is so heartbreaking,' wrote @OmarCameUp on X.
'Adam Cole was hitting on a consistent base since he won the belt. Heartbreaking,' @AdamGoldberg28 agreed.
And @DragunovTheDon added: 'I feel so bad for Adam Cole right now. I said it a week ago that his AEW run has been nothing but unlucky because of injuries and now he got injured again 💔'
Cole is also yet to address the announcement and his removal from the show, with his most recent posts on X all promoting the event over the last few days.
He has history at AEW All In, as he headlined the 2023 edition at Wembley Stadium when he faced MJF in a historic main event.
Cole fell off an entrance ramp in September 2023, as he suffered a horror ankle injury in a freak accident, while a year earlier, he was out of action for several months due to issues following a concussion.
Reflecting on his recovery, he previously told Metro: 'It was stressful, because of what I was going through, this very legitimate, very serious head injury.

'The idea of showcasing that to the world was very intimidating but I'm so glad that I did. 'The fans were so supportive the whole way through, and they're gonna get to see a totally different side.'

'Hidden treasure' music biopic finally arrives on Amazon Prime Video

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A stunning biopic, branded a 'hidden treasure' by impressed fans, has finally landed on Amazon Prime Video. Better Man hit the big screen last December, and focused on music icon Robbie Williams' rise to superstardom. However, in a surprise move, the Angels singer was portrayed by a CGI monkey while everyone else in the movie was human – a decision by director Michael Gracey that left baffled moviegoers around the world. Despite the confusion, many praised the movie, hailing it as 'one of the best biopics' ever made. The film has now arrived on streaming and is available to watch on Amazon Prime, for those who didn't manage to catch the cinema release. Better Man currently boasts a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score from the audience, compared to a critics ranking of 89%. Commending the flick, Maria L wrote: 'A movie that will have you crying, laughing, and dancing! This movie is a hidden treasure and should truly be seen by everyone!! One of the best movies of 2024.' Marianne E agreed: 'One of the best biopics I've seen in a long time, very touching, made me cry a lot.' 'BRILLIANT. A true masterpiece and like nothing you've ever seen,' AE J said. 'I am a fan of Williams but even a nondevotee would leave appreciating what an absolute marvel this film is, from the music, the epic dance numbers and the acting this biopic is a stunning exploration into the depths of self-loathing to redemption. Lovely.' Ker M added: 'It is rare to see a modern movie with such an incomprehensible degree of creativity embedded into every frame. 'While my faith in modern film is at an all-time low, works of genius like Better Man give me renewed vigor and hope. This is a MUST see. Will clearly become a cult classic in years to come, box office be darned.' With many questions over the monkey's involvement, Robbie previously shed light on why he was portrayed by a CGI animal in a chat with Metro while at the premiere. 'I didn't know that I'd have to explain it, but obviously [I do],' he told us. 'Because it's unusual, right? That's the thing. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'I'm on the spectrum, so things that are unusual to me, aren't that unusual – I don't pick up on those sorts of cues. I don't know where I am on the spectrum, by the way, I just know I am.' 'It shouldn't work but it actually works better than if it was me. I don't know why,' he added. 'It made complete sense to me as soon as [Gracey] pitched it to me'. 'I don't know if this film would be as talked about if it hadn't had the monkey in it. And it does, and it has. And it all makes sense when you see it.' Although it wasn't a box office smash in the US, Robbie previously shared his hopes that we could get a sequel very soon. More Trending In a chat with Australian DJ Sean Brown, the Rock DJ icon said in January: 'There is so much that didn't make the movie. 'Only because we couldn't fit it in – not because I was too embarrassed or ashamed to put it in… many stories. It would have had to be a five-hour film to fit everything in. 'And hopefully it does good and there is a Better Man 2.' Better Man is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now. Got a story? WWE icon and Playboy cover girl Torrie Wilson stuns fans with ageless appearance ahead of 50th birthday

Torrie Wilson was arguably one of the most popular female superstars in pro-wrestling during the 2000s. And although she officially retired from the squared circle in 2008, Wilson proved that she's still one of the most beautiful women in the business when she made a surprise appearance at the WWE Evolution PPV on Sunday. While she didn't get back in the ring, the blonde beauty, who turns 50 this month, was spotted by fans sitting ringside at the all-female event. The former two-time Playboy covergirl proved that she's just as stunning as ever as she waved and smiled at fans from the front row. The wrestling trailblazer even showed her support for the current generation of female grapplers by wearing a Rhea Ripley T-shirt. Viewers were blown away after seeing the bombshell back on screen, with one commenting, 'Everyone says Sofia Vergara hasn't aged, have you seen Torrie Wilson?!' Another wrote, 'One of the hottest women to ever walk into the WWE. Good to see her back.' A third gushed, 'Still gorgeous as always, one of my first wrestling crushes too!' 'Still so pretty,' said another, while one added, 'She's just timeless.' Speaking to the WWE commentators before Evolution aired, Wilson confessed that she'd been riddled with 'stress and anxiety' during her tenure at the company. She also said that she was 'emotional' seeing how far women's wrestling has evolved since her heyday. 'It's really cool to see how far we've come,' she said. Wilson started out in wrestling in WCW, before joining to WWE in 2001 after the company bought out both WCW and ECW. During her time at WWE, Wilson become one of wrestling's biggest sex symbols and covered FHM magazine, as well as Playboy magazine twice. For her second Playboy cover, Wilson teamed up with fellow WWE vixen Sable, who she was in a memorable on-screen feud with. Wrestling fans will also remember Wilson's iconic feud with Dawn Marie, which involved her real-life father Al playing himself on the show. She also made several appearances on Project Runway and was a contestant on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Wilson was officially inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2019. She wasn't the only former WWE diva to return for a the Evolution PPV on Sunday. Former Women's champions Jacqueline, Molly Holly, Ivory, Melina, and Medusa were all front row. Seven-time champion Trish Stratus also returned at age 49 for a match against current WWE Women's champion Tiffany Stratton, which she lost. Much like with Wilson, wrestling fans have also been blown away by how stunning Stratus still looks. 'Trish Stratus STILL HAS IT she just gets better with age INCREDIBLE,' gushed one fan. Another wrote, 'I got to see Trish wrestle again. My girl looks good from that face card to them in ring skills. Trish Stratus you will ALWAYS be famous.' The Canadian beauty worked as a fitness model before becoming a professional wrestler. She's also an avid yoga enthusiast and has used it to sculpt her sensational physique. Trish made her WWE wrestling debut in 2000 as the manager of the tag team T&A. She won the Women's Championship belt for the first time at Survivor Series in 2001, and went on to hold the title a record-breaking seven times. Trish first retired in 2006 after beating former best friend Lita in her final match in WWE in her hometown of Toronto to become the Women's Champion for a seventh time. She used the sharpshooter move to win the bout - with Lita tapping out in the middle of the ring to give Stratus victory - a move synonymous with WWE legend and Canada's own Bret Hart. Back in May, '90s sex symbol and wrestling icon Sable resurfaced after years in hiding with a brand new look. Sable (real name Rena Lesnar) was at one time the biggest female star in professional wrestling. Despite her immense fame and popularity, the three-time Playboy covergirl quit the wrestling business for good in 2004 and completely vanished from the spotlight. In 2006, she married her third husband, WWE and UFC legend Brock Lesnar, and relocated to a secluded farm in Canada to be a fulltime wife and mother to their two children. However, Rena, now 57, resurfaced in May alongside Brock at a private country music party. The former WWF Women's Champion looked unrecognizable during the outing for one significant reason. Her signature long blonde hair was no more, with Rena now rocking honey brown tresses instead. Wrestling fans were blown away by how beautiful and elegant she still looked despite spending decades away from the squared circle. 'Omg Sable looks AMAZING. Need her in the WWE Hall of Fame immediately please,' gushed one. 'She looks better today than she did 20+ years ago,' wrote another. 'Still fine as hell,' wrote a third, while another fan exclaimed, 'She's still absolutely beautiful.' 'Kids, the woman on the right made a helluva lot of money and actually got more ratings than your faves today ever did, back in her day,' lectured one wrestling fan.
