Oregon Ducks offer Caden Moss, 5-star OT in 2027 class

USA Today2 days ago
A'lique Terry and the Oregon Ducks are in the midst of a scorching hot recruiting stretch, which saw 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho commit to the team earlier this summer. It appears that they are also trying to keep the ball rolling into the 2027 class, according to their latest scholarship offer.
On Saturday, 5-star 2027 OT Caden Moss announced that he received an offer from the Ducks. Moss stands at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds, and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 20 player in the 2027 class, and the No. 4 OT.
Moss currently holds offers from notable schools such as the Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas A&M Aggies, Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Longhorns, and Florida Gators, among others.
At the moment, Oregon has two commitments in the 2027 class — 5-star WR Kesean Bowman and 4-star EDGE Cameron Pritchett. They had three commits in the class earlier this summer, but 4-star EDGE Prince Tavizon reclasssified and joined the 2026 class.

College Football Fans React To 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll originally appeared on The Spun. It may be hard to believe but we're only a few short weeks away from our first taste of college football action in 2025. There's no shortage of storylines heading into upcoming season and we were just gifted a few more with Monday's release of the USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll. Despite coming off its first national championship under head coach Ryan Day, Ohio State is not seen as the best team in the country by his peers. Here's a look at how nation's coaches see things stacking up heading into Week 1: Texas Longhorns Ohio State Buckeyes Penn State Nittany Lions Georgia Bulldogs Notre Dame Fighting Irish Clemson Tigers Oregon Ducks Alabama Crimson Tide LSU Tigers Miami Hurricanes Arizona State Sun Devils Illinois Fighting Illini South Carolina Gamecocks Michigan Wolverines Ole Miss Rebels SMU Mustangs Florida Gators Tennessee Volunteers Indiana Hoosiers Kansas State Wildcats Texas A&M Aggies Iowa State Cyclones BYU Cougars Texas Tech Red Raiders Boise State Broncos Fans reacted to the Top 25 on X. "1 vs 2 to open up the season fellas. It doesn't get better than this," a user said. "Iowa State had not been ranked in a pre-season coaches poll in its history until Matt Campbell came to Ames," Brent Blum shared. "Iowa State has now been ranked in pre-season 5 times in last 7 years." "You couldn't ask for a better gift than leaving OU off the coaches poll," an Oklahoma fan shared. "I haven't been this excited for college football in a long time." "SEC twitter is about to have a meltdown that Illinois is #12 ... Ahead of South Carolina, Ole Miss, Florida, Tennessee, and A&M." "Call me old school but the DEFENDING National Champions should be No. 1 and not the team they beat in the semi finals," an OSU fan replied. CFB fans really couldn't dream up a much better opener to the '25 season than Ohio State vs. Texas at The Shoe. That game will be broadcast at 12 PM ET on FOX's "Big Noon Kickoff" with Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt on the Football Fans React To 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll first appeared on The Spun on Aug 4, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Aug 4, 2025, where it first appeared.

Michigan football bolsters 2027 class with 3-star Texas OL Tristan Dare over top programs

Michigan football is still waiting on some hopeful good news on the 2026 recruiting class front, but it's now starting to build a foundation in the 2027 class -- and where else, but along the offensive line. The Wolverines already have one commitment in 2027 in Saline (Mich.) three-star offensive lineman Louis Esposito (son of defensive line coach Lou Esposito). But on Monday, the maize and blue added another OL to bolster the class. Hailing from Southlake (Tx.) Carroll, Tristan Dare is a three-star that has an offer sheet that reads more like a high-four-star prospect. He committed to the Wolverines on Monday over Florida, Florida State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Penn State, and others. Dare is expected to be an interior player along the offensive line and is listed at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds as he prepares to enter his junior year of high school. He is ranked at No. 496 overall, regardless of position, according to the 247Sports Composite. With two commitments in the fold, Michigan is now ranked No. 19 in the 247Sports team rankings for the 2027 recruiting cycle -- which hasn't really gotten underway just yet.

Kalen DeBoer provides injury update on Alabama freshman wide receiver

Following the program's fall camp practice Sunday, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer provided an update on an injured freshman wide receiver. That wideout is true freshman Lotzeir Brooks, who has reportedly been spotted in a walking boot, but is an injury that should not affect the receiver for very long, according to DeBoer on Sunday. 'It won't be anything long-term or anything like that,' DeBoer said. 'So, just be a little bit of recovery here. I don't know if it's day-to-day, but it's not going to be something that's extended.' A member of Alabama's 2025 recruiting class, Brooks comes to Tuscaloosa after a memorable high school career while playing at Millville High School in New Jersey. Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Brooks was considered as a four-star prospect, as well as the No. 185 overall player in the class. Brooks also ranked as the No. 25 overall wide receiver nationally. A potential instant-impact member of Alabama's freshman class, Brooks will be a player to monitor over the coming weeks leading up to the Crimson Tide's season-opener at Florida State.
