Ambulance collides with DCM van: Probationary SI injured; driver arrested in Telangana

At around 3am on Tuesday, PSI S Venkatesham and a team of Balanagar police officers went to the Balanagar flyover after being alerted about a road accident. At the accident spot, they found the body of an unidentified man estimated to be around 40 years old. The police arrested a car driver, who had stopped his vehicle nearby.
A 108 ambulance was called to the scene, the paramedics declared the victim dead and left.
The police then called a private ambulance to take the body to the morgue.

Safety cones were placed around the scene of the accident. The clues team were also present at the crime scene. "The staff were wearing reflective jackets and directing oncoming vehicles to drive through the adjacent lane," said ACP P Naresh Reddy.
Despite these precautions, a DCM van travelling from Bowenpally to Kukatpally collided with the ambulance that had been parked there to shift the body.

"Other police officers, ambulance staff and clues team members quickly jumped aside to safety. Our PSI also took evasive action, but his leg got trapped between the ambulance and the grill on the flyover median after the crash," said Balanagar inspector T Narasimha Raju.
The injured PSI, who is from Sangareddy, was immediately taken to a private hospital in Madhapur. "His left leg was fractured, but he is now out of danger.
I am personally monitoring his treatment," said the inspector.
DCM van driver, Sanjeev Gond, was arrested by police. He was subjected to a blood alcohol content test, which returned a negative result, indicating that he was not under the influence of alcohol. A case was filed under section 106 (1) (causing death due to negligence) in the fatal accident involving an unidentified man, and DCM van driver was booked under section 125 (a) (causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the BNS.

Man loses Rs 2.02 lakh in 98 transactions in WFH scam
Representative Image UDUPI: A man from Hebri fell prey to a work-from-home scam and lost about Rs 2.02 lakh. He alleged that from Dec 19, 2024, to June 20, this year he made a total of 98 transactions, transferring an amount of Rs 2.02 lakh through a scanner and PhonePe. In a complaint, Ramesh said that in Dec 2024, he came across a "work from home" data entry job advertisement by a company named Sun Shine HR Solutions, Bengaluru, on the Local Job app. He applied for the job and was asked to pay Rs 500 for registration on Dec 19, through a scanner link sent by the company. Soon after, he received a message asking for an additional Rs 2,050 as a security deposit. A person named Ranjith then sent him data entry work claiming it was for Amazon , instructing him to complete it within four days. When Ramesh was unable to submit the data within the given time, he was told to pay Rs 2,500 to extend the deadline and again made the payment. Later, citing various reasons such as salary account creation, error modification, error cancellation, and account-related charges, persons identifying themselves as Aishwarya (accountant) and Sridhar (MD) continued to contact him. Second attempt in 2 weeks: 2 gibbons smuggled from Bangkok seized at Chennai airport
Chennai airport CHENNAI: Customs sleuths at Chennai airport seized two gibbon monkeys from a flyer who arrived from Bangkok, Thailand, marking the second thwarted attempt to smuggle gibbons in the last two weeks via Chennai. The flyer landed in Chennai on a Thai Airways flight in the early hours of Tuesday and was intercepted by customs sleuths on suspicion. Upon examination of his checked-in trolley bag, two pet bags were found concealed beneath chocolates and other food items. Customs sleuths found two live monkeys of different species, identified as an Agile Gibbon (Hylobates agilis) and an Eastern Grey Gibbon (Hylobates funerus), hidden inside the pet bags. They were seized, and the wildlife bureau was informed. They identified the monkeys and provided suitable care. The monkeys were deported on the same flight back to Thailand, and the flyer was remanded in judicial custody. On Tuesday, a flyer from Singapore was secured for smuggling 150 grams of gold, and on Wednesday, another flyer from Dubai was caught with another 150 grams of gold.
