AMC announces 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon' season 3 release date and trailer
AMC released a 30-second teaser clip showing Reedus's Daryl Dixon and Melissa McBride's Carol Peletier adjusting to life in their new setting. "Felt like something had been lost, a chance to really have something" Dixon says in the short trailer.
McBride's Carol adds in voiceover, "First you survive what happened to you, and then you start living again."
But clearly, the characters haven't shaken off those survival instincts just yet, as fiery, zombie-filled battles are very much in their futures. "The road home is brutal and the fight to survive is far from over," reads the description of the new sneak peek, which you can watch below:
AMC's official logline for season 3 of "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon" reads: "Daryl and Carol continue their journey to return home and to the ones they love, but their path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse."
And along with a peek into this season's Spain-set plotlines, the teaser also confirmed that the third installment, which is subtitled "The Book of Carol," will begin on Sunday, September 7 at 9 p.m. ET exclusively on AMC and AMC Plus, kicking off a six-episode run.
Along with leads Reedus and McBride, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada and Alexandra Masangkay are joining the cast as series regulars in season 3. Actors including Candela Saitta, Hugo Arbués, Greta Fernández, Gonzalo Bouza, Hada Nieto and Stephen Merchant will round out the ensemble.

In addition to the season 3 teaser trailer, AMC also dropped some behind-the-scenes insights with a new on-set video, catching up not only with Jeffrey Dean Morgan to discuss "The Walking Dead: Dead City" season 2 but also Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride from Spain during filming of "Daryl Dixon" season 3:
As for how their two characters end up in Spain, the "Daryl Dixon" team is tight-lipped, but showrunner David Zabel did previously tell The Hollywood Reporter that the nomadic nature of Daryl and Carol's survival helped "reinvigorate" the show season after season.
'We loved the reinvigoration we experienced going to France, and we wanted to continue doing that,' Zabel said. 'On a story level, the characters should not settle down. It should be a road show. They have to keep moving [to return home]. At the end of season two, they're going somewhere. We don't know exactly where, and it's not a direct line to the next place they go. But the idea is to keep the characters struggling and striving to get home and moving.'
Tom's Guide will keep you updated on all things related to "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon" season 3, including character details, plot points, new trailers and more.

AMC works really hard to make going to the movies terrible
As streaming media has exploded in popularity over the past few decades, fewer and fewer people have seen the point of getting into the car and going to the movie theater. Despite being a beloved activity that people have adored for well over a hundred years, going to the movies really isn't what it used to be. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Add up the price of a ticket or two, overpriced concessions, the cost of driving to and from the theater - not to mention the high possibility of loud groups of kids who don't mind talking over the entire movie - and it's just not appealing. The pandemic hit movie theaters hard, and although America has recovered, the movie theater industry hasn't. Related: AMC announces generous offer to win back customers Typically it made between 10 and 11 billion a year before 2020, but since then, it hasn't exceeded more than 8 billion, per data from Box Office Mojo. One way theaters coped with getting people back in theater seats was to entice them with limited-edition merchandise like themed popcorn buckets, which actually did wonders for their bottom line. AMC alone raked in $65 million from sales of this merchandise. Now AMC has a new idea to change the theater experience. But unlike its innovative collectible popcorn buckets, this will actually add yet another reason to justify staying home on the couch with Netflix. Image source: Shutterstock We all go to the movies expecting to see trailers before the show starts, and some people even like it that way, knowing if they're running a bit late, they won't miss the main event. AMC has decided this is a good thing, and as of July 1, will now show more pre-movie ads than ever, including "as much as" a whopping five minutes of commercials, as well as a new ad called a "Platinum Spot" that will play before the last few movie trailers you see. Trailers and other promotions can mean the movie doesn't start for 25-30 minutes, according to the AMC website. The advertising decision comes as the result of an agreement AMC made with the National CineMedia ad network, which is the largest of its kind in the U.S. Related: Regal, AMC make a genius move to get people to the theater Back in 2019, AMC declined using these ads, despite the fact other chains such as Regal adopted them, saying it believed that moviegoers would react "quite negatively" to them. But it has since pivoted, saying in a June Bloomberg interview, "While AMC was initially reluctant to bring this to our theaters, our competitors have fully participated for more than five years without any direct impact to their attendance." AMC has had its share of struggles over the past few years. While it's been slowly recovering since the pandemic, 2024 didn't pan out so well, with AMC reporting a decline in revenue in 2024's Q3 and an attendance decline. AMC also announced on July 1 that it had entered into a new agreement with its creditors, which will provide $223 million of new money financing that will be used to refinance its debt. The agreement will also allow AMC to equitize at least $143 million of its current debt, and has the potential to allow the company to equitize as much at $337 million. Commenters on social media did not take well to the news of the new ads. "I would like to warn AMC to expect 25-30 years of me never coming back to their theaters," said X user TexasPharmD. "Just another reason to avoid the movies," X user Laz252 said. "Stop. I like how they want more people to watch movies, but they're also still making the experience worse," X user 360 No One said. The Real Reason Eva Longoria Didn't Attend BFF Lauren Sanchez's Wedding to Jeff Bezos After Accusing Their Other Guest's Family of ‘Spewing Hate'
There was a notable absence at Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos' wedding. One of the former journalist's closest friends, Eva Longoria, didn't attend the 'wedding of the century,' and the decision raised a lot of eyebrows. Sánchez and Longoria's friendship goes back a while, but several sites like People and Page Six reported that the Desperate Housewives star was seen on a beach in Spain during the nuptials. There seems to be no bad blood between the besties, with Longoria's excuse to missing out on the event being that she's in the middle of filming her CNN series Eva Longoria: Searching for France. The actress' husband, José Bastón, also recently underwent shoulder surgery and was sporting a sling in paparazzi photos. More from StyleCaster Here's if Lauren Sanchez's Ex-Husband 'Knew' of Her Alleged Affair With Jeff Bezos & What He Thinks of the Amazon Founder Now The Real Reason Trump Didn't Attend Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez's Wedding After the Amazon Founder's Complicated History With the President The actress did attend Sánchez's bachelorette party in Paris, France, in May 2025, alongside A-list friends like Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian. 'I had to pop in and out, so I wasn't there as long,' Longoria told People of the party at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. 'But yeah, it's so nice to celebrate love. It's just the best feeling in the world to be there and go, 'Yay, love.''Perry also did not attend the nuptials due to her busy touring schedule in Australia. Notable wedding guests include Perry's ex Orlando Bloom, Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump, and husband Jared Kushner. Longoria, who now primarily lives in Spain and Mexico, criticized the Trump administration when the Donald Trump was elected into office. 'I'm privileged,' the actress told Marie Claire, 'I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren't so lucky. They're going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.' Longoria has been a longtime supporter of the Democratic Party and endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 election. 'The shocking part is not that he won,' she told the outlet. 'It's that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.' The Amazon founder and the former Fox Sports anchor attended Trump's inauguration in January 2025. In 2024, Bezos and Sánchez awarded Eva Longoria with the Bezos Courage and Civility Award. 'She has a relentless commitment to making a significant impact through her foundation and her advocacy,' the helicopter entrepreneur told Elle. The two have also bonded about their Mexican-American heritage. 'She's talking about getting the vote out right now; she's supporting civic engagement with Latinos. She does these things called listening tours where she hears from Latinas directly about what the issues are that we really care about. I think her point is, as she says, 'We're tired of the candidates and parties telling us what we care about,' so she's out there hearing directly from the Latinas about the issues that matter to them.' The actress received a $50 million grant to distribute to her favorite charities, including her own, the Eva Longoria Foundation. 'Whether it's economic status, poverty, food insecurity, the environment, there are so many issues we're facing in the world,' Longoria told Elle. 'I love the concept of this award, which is supporting people who are doing great things.' The Odyssey's First Poster for Christopher Nolan Movie Revealed
In a surprising turn of events, upcoming directorial venture, , has received its first poster, despite still being more than a year away from its theatrical release. While Universal Pictures has yet to officially launch promotions for the film on the digital front, the physical campaign seems to have already taken flight, as per the pictures procured from several theaters. Several images, that have recently made their way onto the internet, indicate that the first official poster for 2026's The Odyssey is now out in the open. A plethora of cinema-goers, such as @Cart_Hound, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a glimpse at the maiden one-sheet of Christopher Nolan's forthcoming film, reportedly put up at various AMC establishments. The Odyssey's debut poster highlights the film's title in a light blue font against a pitch black backdrop, with the phrase 'a film by Christopher Nolan' written above it. A disclaimer for how the movie was filmed appears beneath the title, reading, 'Shot entirely with IMAX film cameras.' Notably, this makes Nolan's 2026 epic the first feature film in Hollywood history to exclusively make use of IMAX cameras during filming. In addition to the aforementioned details, the poster also confirms that The Odyssey will premiere on the big screens on July 17, 2026. The release date accompanies a tagline that fittingly conveys the tone of the movie, reading, 'Defy the Gods.' Lastly, the poster features the decapitated head of statue of a Greek God, hinting at what fans can expect from the film. Helmed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey draws inspiration from Homer's ancient Greek epic poem of the same name. Aside from Matt Damon, who essays the titular role, the film also stars Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal, among others.
