Bride heartbroken after sister-in-law wears wedding dress to her wedding

A bride has shared her frustration after her sister-in-law arrived at her wedding dressed in what looked like a wedding gown.
The incident was shared on the popular Reddit forum Wedding Shaming, where an outraged guest posted photos of the offending woman dressed in a white, floor-length gown with floral details, resembling a bride.
The guest explained that the woman claimed to be wearing a 'sage green' dress in line with the dress code of 'pastel chic'.
However, the bride was visibly upset, especially after her mother-in-law had previously asked if she could wear white, which was denied.
Sister-in-law's bridal look
'The dress code was summer pastel chic, like Easter colours,' the poster explained.
'The girlfriend of the groom's brother wore a sage green (wedding) dress that in no way, shape or form appeared to be sage green, or any other colour.
'The veil she's carrying was the flower girl's (her daughter's). This was after the mother-in-law had asked the bride if she could wear a white jumpsuit to the wedding, to which the bride obviously said no.'
And it wasn't just the colour that threw people off.
The design also appeared obviously bridal, with elegant off-the-shoulder sleeves and a figure-hugging silhouette.
And to further contradict the woman's 'sage green' claims, her shoes were actually sage green, which look nothing like the colour of the dress.
Commenters weigh in
The post amassed thousands of comments and sparked a heated debate, as these posts commonly do, with many commenters feeling sorry for the bride.
'Wow, that's very bridal,' wrote one, as another said: 'Yeah, this is straight up a wedding dress'.
'Some people are insane,' remarked someone else.
Another dished out the age-old advice: 'To be safe, you should never wear any white dress to a wedding that is not yours.
'That being said, not all white dresses are wedding dresses. This is absolutely a wedding dress.'
Others joked that they thought they were looking at the bride in these photos.
'I was like, 'Cool, so what does the sister-in-law look like?'' quipped one.
'The dress looks like the smell of the colour sage from another room,' laughed another.
'Exactly what I was going to say,' someone else said. 'The poster clearly included pictures of the actual bride for comparison, then forgot to add pictures of the offending sister-in-law … nope'.
SIL walks down aisle
To add insult to injury, the SIL also ended up walking down the aisle in her bridal look.
'The flower girl is her daughter, but as a cherry on top: the daughter was also the ring bearer and was too nervous to walk down the aisle so guess who walked down with her? Mummy dearest,' the poster added.
Some defended the move
On the other hand, others argued that the risky dress code was to blame for the fashion faux pas.
'Summer pastel chic is simply asking for trouble,' wrote one.
'Honestly yes, so many pastels photograph white or look white under some lighting,' another pointed out.
And someone else revealed they had been caught out by a similar theme.
'I wore a bright yellow floaty pleated dress with a belt to a friend's wedding. It was so clearly bright yellow, I thought it was a safe choice. Nope!' they wrote.
While the dress code might be partly to blame, it's clear that most people in the comments agree that the SIL's dress was a poor choice.

Hollywood's richest actress Jami Gertz spotted looking unrecognisable

Eighties actress Jami Gertz has been spotted looking unrecognisable years after she ditched Hollywood and became a billionaire. Gertz acted in 1980s classics like The Lost Boys and Sixteen Candles, and also made an appearance in the original Twister in the 90s. She has since amassed an estimated USD$8 billion (AUD$12.5 billion) fortune, putting her ahead of Hollywood greats including Tom Cruise, Reese Witherspoon and Brad Pitt and making her the richest actor in the world. She was spotted this week having lunch at a private members' club that attracts some of Hollywood's most powerful elite. Gertz kept things low-key in a light blue blouse, white trousers and matching shoes as she chatted with a pal. The former Hollywood star worked as a child actress before scoring her breakthrough role the 1987 drama Less than Zero with Robert Downey, Jr. In 1989, Gertz married banker Tony Ressler who over the course of the following decade forged an incredibly lucrative career in private equity. Ressler co-founded Apollo Global Management in 1990, which has since gone on to be worth an estimated $125 billion. Seven years later, he launched a second firm, Ares Management, which also skyrocketed in success. The husband and wife duo have since collaborated on numerous business ventures, including Gertz's own production company, Lime Orchard Productions, which has developed movies including like Heretic, Dune: Prophecy and One Piece. In 2015, the couple then bought the NBA team the Atlanta Hawks for a reported $720 million. 'I get it,' she told Hollywood Reporter. 'It's not your everyday Hollywood actress tale.' 'Everyone thinks I married a rich guy. But I made more money — way more money — than Tony when I met him. I paid for our first house. I paid for our first vacation. I married him because I fell in love with him.' She went on to open up about quitting Hollywood, confessing that her duties with the Atlanta Hawks became too time consuming to juggle both careers. 'It just seemed like a natural moment for me to take a break from acting,' she said. 'It's hard to even say it out loud, because I love what I do. It's given me so many beautiful things in my life, taught me so many things about myself and the world around me.'

Original Naked Gun creator's swipe at reboot and star Liam Neeson

The director and co-writer of the original The Naked Gun film has taken a brutal swipe at the reboot and its star, Liam Neeson. David Zucker, along with his brother Jerry Zucker and Jim Abrahams, created the 1988 spoof comedy as well as the TV show that spawned it, Police Squad, but was not invited to join the team behind the new instalment. Instead, its co-written and directed by Saturday Night Live 's Akiva Schaffer and produced by Family Guy 's Seth Macfarlane. 'I don't plan on seeing it because, why would I?,' Zucker, 77, told the Daily Mail recently. 'I wrote a whole script for Naked Gun 4 on spec for Paramount. I understand the studio's thinking to go with Seth Macfarlane. He's a proven commodity and Liam Neeson is a big star, but it's not a fresh idea.' Zucker also claimed that Neeson was not the right fit for the beloved franchise he created. 'OJ [Simpson] … he didn't need to be funny,' he said. 'And even Leslie Nielsen doesn't need to be funny. He just had to be a B-movie actor. 'That's what we did … We didn't pretend to cast Laurence Olivier or even Al Pacino. But Liam Neeson, for example, he's like Oscar quality. I think he may have won for Schindler's List. So I mean, what's he making fun of?' According to Zucker, despite being shut out of the production, Macfarlane had eventually called him up personally. 'I had a conversation with Seth and he spent 10 minutes just telling me how he idolised Naked Gun, Airplane, Top Secret,' he said. 'How can you be mad at anybody who tells you how great you are? But it's not enough to be a fan … The guy at my dry cleaners is a big fan, but it doesn't mean he can do Naked Gun.' The new film in the beloved franchise sees Detective Frank Drebin's son, the equally bumbling Detective Frank Drebin Jr. (Neeson) caught up in a murder case, part of a broader sinister plot for mass destruction, which he must solve in order to prevent the police department from shutting down. Pamela Anderson co-stars as his love interest and investigative partner, Beth Davenport. Just like those in the original franchise, the latest Naked Gun movie leans in to the most bonkers humour – and even co-writer Doug Mand admitted to that he was shocked they got most of the jokes over the line. 'I can't believe this movie got made,' he revealed at the UK premiere. 'You dream about writing something that's silly and fun and joyful and they're not making a lot of movies like this anymore. Every joke that's on screen [in The Naked Gun], I can't believe they shot it, and I can't believe they spent money on shooting it.' Neeson revealed to that he'd needed to be 'convinced' to go through with some of the movie's more 'outrageous' scenes. 'There were a couple of apprehensions, mainly to do with the script,' the Taken actor, 73, said. 'There were certain scenes that were too outrageous.' After voicing his concerns, however, he was eventually thoroughly 'convinced they would work' by the production team. The Naked Gun certainly shows off a whole new side of the actor, who's known for his intimidating and stoic on-screen presence. But his latest role is actually more aligned with his sense of humour, as Anderson, 58, told joking that he was inherently 'a silly little boy'. 'He's very funny. I think with most people, there are so many sides to them, and that's what makes them interesting.' She added: 'Playing it straight was very important to make this film work – we had to make sure we weren't trying to be funny. That we were in the relationship, and in the situation, and then the comedy came from the circumstances.'
