Man admits violent Clydebank assault on his partner
The 42-year-old pleaded guilty to kicking a door open at the property in Duntocher, Clydebank.
He admitted pushing and kicking his partner on her body, seizing her by the throat and restricting her breathing, and repeatedly striking her on the body. He seized her by the hair and clothing to her injury.
The crime was aggravated against a partner or ex.
Crooks - listed as a prisoner at Low Moss - was originally charged with an attack to the danger of the woman's life, but the charge was amended by the Crown before the plea.

He further admitted repeatedly shouting, swearing, uttering threats of violence and challenging others to fight.
Crooks also assaulted a man who lived at the property, headbutting him to his injury.
He also resisted arrest, using his body weight to push against police and kicking his legs.
On all charges, Crooks was on bail from a month earlier, on January 9.
The Crown accepted he was not guilty of spitting on the head of a police officer during the incident.
Sheriff Robert Carr deferred sentence until August 6 for reports. Crooks will stay behind bars until then.

Bristol man jailed for life for stabbing 'kind and bubbly' man
A man has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering a 25-year-old man he stabbed in the Siddiqi, 32, of St Pauls, Bristol, attacked Kunta Ceesay with a knife in an altercation in Stapleton Road in the city on 20 September last was given a life sentence at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday and was told he would serve a minimum of 21 Ceesay's family described him as a "kind, bubbly and loving boy" who "always helped his family and friends whenever he could". "It is so sad for the family that Kunta was taken from us far too soon and he has been robbed of the chance to grow old, create his own family and reach his dreams," Mr Ceesay's family said in a statement."It's difficult to comprehend the senseless way that Kunta has lost his life and how difficult it will be for all of us to have to live without him."Whilst our hearts and lives will never be the same we, the family of Kunta, trusted the justice system and the jurors to make the right decision in this case. "Kunta's life meant something and we hope that this will serve as a reminder for people to be cautious [and] lead with kindness and love in their lives."

The court heard that Meldrum in a white Skoda Octavia was involved in a serious road traffic collision on March 23 this year. Prosecutor Amy Clyne said: "This raised concern in relation to Meldrum driving as he was noted to be disqualified on February 18 2025 for 26 months." CCTV inquiries then took place which showed that Meldrum drove on a number of occasions between the dates specified which included two on the same day. Sheriff Mary Shields put Meldrum under a restriction of liberty order for four months at sentencing keeping him indoors between 7pm and 7am. Meldrum was also ordered to do 147 hours of unpaid work and disqualified from driving for three years.
