Here's How Much Traders Expect Tesla Stock To Move After Earnings Wednesday

Tesla (TSLA) is scheduled to report its second-quarter results after the market closes on Wednesday, with investors expecting the electric vehicle maker's stock to make a sizable move after the report. Based on recent options pricing, Tesla stock is seen moving close to 7% or almost $22 in either direction from Monday's close near $329 by the end of this week's trading sessions. At the high end, that would leave Tesla stock at just over $350, with the low end falling at roughly $307. Tesla shares rose 5.4% the day after the electric vehicle maker's first-quarter report, when CEO Elon Musk told investors he was weeks away from leaving his work with the Trump administration. They gained nearly 3% following Tesla's January fourth-quarter report, after surging nearly 22% and falling 12.3%, respectively, after each of the two previous quarters' earnings. Tesla shares have lost nearly 20% of their value since the start of this year. They have recovered from the lows they experienced in March and April when Tesla was the subject of protests while Musk was working in the federal government, but have still been pressured in recent weeks as Musk has continued to insert himself into politics on social media. The EV giant is expected to report an over 10% decline in revenue from the same time a year ago to $22.78 billion, while adjusted earnings per share are projected to drop nearly 20% to 42 cents, per estimates compiled by Visible Alpha. Analysts have said recently the stock could respond more to Musk's comments about Tesla's recently launched robotaxi program and other projects than the company's quarterly financial results, as the shares rose earlier this month despite deliveries missing estimates. Among the analysts tracked by Visible Alpha who follow the company, eight call Tesla stock a "buy," compared with five "hold," and four "sell" ratings. Their average price target at $301 is about 8% below Monday's level. Investigators exploring whether grenades found at apartment caused blast that killed 3 LA deputies

APTOPIX Training Facility Exposion LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities are looking into whether grenades recovered from a Santa Monica apartment complex caused an explosion last week at a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department training facility that killed three members of its arson and explosives unit. Investigators served a search warrant Monday morning at an address in the Marina del Rey neighborhood. The department didn't say what, if anything, was found as detectives chase leads following the deadly blast early Friday at the Biscailuz Training Facility. Officials said they are exploring whether there may be a connection to the discovery on Thursday of grenades at an apartment complex in Santa Monica, a few miles (kilometers) north of Marina del Rey. The three members of the arson and explosives team responded that day to assist local police. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said the deaths marked the department's worst loss of life in a single incident since 1857, when four officers were killed by gunfire. Those killed Friday were identified by the department as Detective Joshua Kelley-Eklund, Detective Victor Lemus and Detective William Osborn. They served 19, 22 and 33 years in the department respectively, Luna said. Luna said Friday that it took more than four hours to render the scene safe and the deaths were being investigated by the department's homicide detectives, with the assistance of the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. No one else was injured, he said. The sheriff said the arson and explosives team undergoes in-depth training and responds to more than 1,000 calls a year. Solve the daily Crossword

Whitehorse RCMP investigating potential abduction after child went missing for an hour

Whitehorse RCMP say they're investigating a report of a child abduction that happened Sunday night in the Porter Creek neighbourhood. Police said in a news release on Monday that the child's parents called them around 10 p.m. on Sunday, saying their nine-year-old daughter had not returned home as expected. A missing person investigation then began with police going door to door with a police service dog team. According to RCMP, the girl then returned home approximately an hour after she had last been seen. Police gave no other details. In an email to CBC News on Monday, RCMP said investigators needed time to "speak to this child in a trauma-informed way," and that they would release any details about a possible suspect "if the suspect remains unknown to the police." "At this point in the investigation, we need to allow the investigators time to do their work," the email says. Whitehorse detachment officers, the RCMP Specialized Response Unit and Major Crime Unit are all assigned to the investigation and continue to gather information. Police are asking the public to share any door or dash cam footage from the Porter Creek area between 8 and 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.
