Trent Boult
delivered a match-winning performance with both bat and ball as MI New York defeated San Francisco Unicorns in a thrilling Eliminator match at Dallas in the Major League Cricket.
Boult's unbeaten 22 runs off 13 balls, including two crucial sixes in the penultimate over, helped MI NY chase down SFU's target of 133 with two wickets remaining, securing their first-ever victory against the Unicorns in MLC history and advancing to face Texas Super Kings in Friday's Qualifier 2 match.
The match began with MI NY captain Nicholas Pooran winning the toss and electing to bowl under the threat of rain. The decision proved effective as MI NY's bowlers, led by Nosthush Kenjige and Boult, dismantled SFU's top order, reducing them to 16 for 5 in the fifth over.
Cooper Connolly attempted to stabilise the SFU innings, but Tristan Luus and Rushil Ugarkar maintained bowling pressure. After Connolly's dismissal by Luus and Hammad Azam's wicket claimed by Ugarkar, SFU found themselves at 62 for 7.
Xavier Bartlett's counter-attacking innings of 44 runs off 24 balls, supported by Brody Couch, helped SFU avoid a sub-100 total. The pair added 59 runs from 32 balls before Ugarkar broke the partnership in the 17th over, with SFU ultimately posting 133 runs.

Rain interrupted play for an hour but did not result in any reduction of overs. MI NY's chase started positively with Monank Patel and Quinton de Kock putting on 37 runs for the opening partnership.
The momentum shifted when Matthew Short introduced himself into the attack in the seventh over, dismissing both de Kock and Pooran. Monank Patel and Michael Bracewell struggled to maintain the scoring rate, reaching 58 for 2 at the halfway mark.
Short returned to dismiss Monank in the 13th over, followed by Bartlett removing Kieron Pollard in the 14th. Hassan Khan then produced a remarkable spell, taking four wickets across two overs to reduce MI NY from 98 for 4 to 108 for 8.
With 25 runs needed from 22 balls, Boult emerged as the unlikely hero. He targeted Hassan Khan in the 19th over, hitting two consecutive sixes over deep mid-wicket to turn the match in MI NY's favour.
Boult then guided the team to victory in the final over.
Brief Scores: San Francisco Unicorns 133 in 19.1 overs
(Xavier Bartlett 44; Rushil Ugarkar 3-19, Trent Boult 2-19)
lost to MI New York 132/8 in 19.3 overs
(Monank Patel 33, Quinton de Kock 33, Trent Boult 22*; Hassan Khan 4-30, Matthew Short 3-22)

Skip Bayless fires back at reports of LeBron James feeling undervalued by the Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James, Image via Getty When it comes to talking straight to the point, Skip Bayless would never be seen mincing his words. The popular sports columnist and ESPN commentator recently reacted to the buzz around LeBron James being undervalued by the Los Angeles Lakers. With speculations around LeBron James' trade with Lakers for the upcoming NBA season, he has been making headlines across the globe. Recently, ESPN commentator Skip Bayless fired back at the reports of LeBron James being mistreated by the Lakers. Skip Bayless gets furious over the reports around LeBron James feeling undervalued by the Los Angeles Lakers Despite focusing on his family, a new feline member, and golf sessions, LeBron James is making headlines during the ongoing offseason. As the Lakers are moving towards one of biggest deals in history of NBA, almost every move of the team has come under scrutiny. Recently, ESPN commentator Skip Bayless gave his explosive take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. He mentioned 'Just read an interesting ESPN story on how LeBron was upset, Lakers didn't offer to add years to his deal. HE IS NOW YEAR TO YEAR IN YEAR 23! And he could have opted out, become a free agent. But he knew nobody'd pay him 52.6 million. So he bluffs about the Cavs, and the Lakers yawn.' According to ESPN, Los Angeles Lakers' general manager Rob Pelinka is quite comfortable with LeBron James' stint with the NBA team with an almost expiring contract for the 2025-26 season. The 40-year-old Lakers' star is expected to hang his yellow and purple jersey at the exit door. According to a statement given by LeBron James' agent, Chris Paul, to ESPN's Shams Charania— "We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive, and want what's best for him." Reportedly, James went ahead with his $52.6 million player option during late June 2025. The news had spread like a wildfire in NBA town and eyebrows were raised as Los Angeles Lakers did not engage in any kind of extension deal with LeBron James. 'I'll beat your A**' : Cam Ward reunites with college star Xavier Restrepo — Titans' 2025 offense just got interesting

Cam Ward, Xavier Restrepo steal the show in Tennessee (Image via: Getty Images) The Tennessee Titans are wasting no time reshaping their roster after a disappointing 2024 season. With a major quarterback addition in Cam Ward and a sneaky-underrated move to sign his college teammate Xavier Restrepo as an undrafted free agent, the Titans are banking on chemistry, talent, and a fresh start to spark their offense in 2025. Cam Ward and Xavier Restrepo reignite college chemistry in Tennessee When the Titans selected Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, they signaled a bold new era for the franchise. But what flew under the radar was the team's decision to bring in Xavier Restrepo — Ward's go-to wide receiver at Miami — shortly after the draft. Despite going undrafted, Restrepo has a real chance to break into Tennessee's wide receiver rotation, which currently lacks depth and established talent. Restrepo and Ward were electric together in 2024 at Miami, helping each other produce career-best numbers. Ward's pinpoint accuracy and improvisational skills thrived with Restrepo's route-running and reliability in the slot. Their connection not only lit up ACC defenses but also helped Ward climb to the top of the draft board. Now, they'll look to translate that success to the NFL stage. CAM WARD turns up the HEAT in Miami " No Days Off " Restrepo's journey is already off to a lively start. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This Could Be the Best Time to Trade Gold in 5 Years IC Markets Learn More Undo In a now-viral moment at Titans practice, Ward jokingly snapped at his former college teammate after Restrepo repeatedly bounced a football on the ground. 'Quit throwing my ball on the ground before I beat your a**,' Ward said, captured in a July 11 YouTube vlog. The clip was all in good fun but underscored their familiarity — something that could fast-track their adjustment in the NFL. At Miami, Restrepo was known for his toughness, leadership, and consistency. His 2024 college campaign — where he flourished alongside Ward — proved he can deliver under pressure. While he may have been overlooked during the draft, the Titans are giving him the perfect environment to thrive: a familiar quarterback, a thin receiver room, and an offense in need of playmakers. Twist in the tale? Big predictions for India vs England at Lord's go viral

KL Rahul (Getty Images) Former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik and former England pace ace Stuart Broad shared contrasting views on the potential outcome of the third Test at Lord's, with all results still in play. As time ticks away, frequent interruptions—be it due to ball changes or medical concerns—have done little to aid either side. At the end of the second session on Day 3, India trailed by 71 runs with five wickets in hand, while England continued to hunt for crucial breakthroughs. With fewer than seven sessions remaining, Karthik doesn't believe a draw is the only likely outcome. He sees a result as very much possible, especially given England's aggressive mindset and willingness to push for a win even in tightscenarios. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. Broad, however, offered a different take. Having observed the changing behaviour of the Lord's surface, the former England quick believes the pitch may not produce the kind of movement or drama needed for a decisive finish, making a draw the likeliest scenario. Jasprit Bumrah and Joe Root react to the Dukes ball drama at Lord's | IND vs ENG "Draw is the favourite for me. For it to be a result, someone is going to have to have a five or six-wicket session or score 130 in a session, and it doesn't feel like a pitch that is going to happen on," Broad said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Retirees Who Collect Under $3,495/mo SS Could Now Be Entitled To These 'Extra' Benefits Better Finances Learn More Undo "Things aren't happening too quickly on this wicket. If England leave themselves three sessions on the final day to take 10 wickets, that's not going to happen, which is why I think the draw is in the game.
