2026 4-star WR and Texas A&M commit being heavily pursued by other programs
Texas A&M landed three wide receivers in the 2026 class, as four-stars Aaron Gregory, Mike Brown, and Madden Williams represent the future Aggie pass catchers, all highly skilled and perfect fits in OC Collin Klein's offense. However, with great talent comes outside attention, especially for Madden Williams, one of the rising prospects in California.
This week, it was reported by Rivals recruiting insider Adam Gorney that while Williams continues to stay committed to the Aggies, while also recruiting fellow 2026 California prospects to College Station, like many of A&M's non-Texas-based prospects. On the field, Williams is one of the best route runners in the cycle, while possessing the size and quickness to become a No. 1 receiving option at the next level.
Given his intriguing traits, nearly every major West Coast program, including USC has been all-in on flipping Williams, and no one can criticize him for weighing his options before making a final decision. So far, Williams will take official visits to Washington on May 30, Florida State on June 6, USC on June 13, and Texas A&M on June 20.
As I've stated in the past regarding recruiting patterns, the team that receives the final official visit usually has an edge, and the fact that Williams is "strongly" committed to Texas A&M, head coach Mike Elko and his staff should be pretty good about where they stand with the talented pass catcher.
According to Rivals, Madden Williams is currently positioned as the 92nd-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 14th-ranked wide receiver, and the 13th-ranked prospect in California.

Messi, Alba risk ban after MLS All-Star game withdrawal

Lionel Messi and Inter Miami team-mate Jordi Alba could face a suspension after withdrawing from Major League Soccer's All-Star game. Argentina superstar Messi and Alba had been due to start for a combined MLS team which will face a squad representing Mexico's Liga-MX in Austin later Wednesday. However a league source said Inter Miami had notified officials on Wednesday that both Messi and Alba had been pulled from the event. Under MLS rules, both Messi and Alba could be given a one-game suspension unless they have a valid reason for the withdrawal, such as an injury. A league source told AFP however no decision on possible disciplinary action would be taken until MLS officials had spoken to Inter Miami to confirm the circumstances of the withdrawal. The duo's participation in Wednesday's mid-season exhibition game had been under a cloud after Miami coach Javier Mascherano indicated at the weekend he wanted Messi and Alba to rest. "The players are called up. I'd prefer they rest, but it's not my decision," Mascherano said. "I know how important the All-Star Game is, and as far as I know, there's no decision from the club - everything continues as normal." Both Messi, 38, and Alba, 36, have a history of recent injury problems while Inter Miami has faced a gruelling schedule which included participation in the recent FIFA Club World Cup. rcw/ea

Klay Thompson Reveals How Being ‘in Love' with Megan Thee Stallion Has Upped His Golf Game

Klay Thompson has become better in more ways than one since making things official with Megan Thee Stallion. The Dallas Mavericks shooting guard, 35, recently planned a date at a nine-hole golf course with Megan, 30, that was chronicled on her Instagram and TikTok pages on Wednesday, July 23. The video begins with the rapper explaining that he let her choose her outfit. The basketball player went to Academy Sports + Outdoors to purchase a couple of options, which included a pink athletic skirt and a lavender collared t-shirt, as well as a black athletic skirt with a white t-shirt. The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Play now! Megan ultimately chose the white shirt, paired with the pink skirt, while Thompson opted for black shorts, a baby blue collared t-shirt and a black hat that read "Protect your energy." After explaining that she had a meeting to attend before her date with Thompson, the video cut to a clip of the two riding in a golf cart driven by the NBA star. Thompson was then seen sitting on a bench while Megan pointed out fish in a lake. She then cuts to a closer look at her outfit as she tells Thompson, "You picked it? You think it's cute?" "Uh-huh. You even got the cute shoes on [and] the shirt. I did well," he says. "I'm really proud of myself." The two ultimately then start golfing, as Thompson jokes that he is Tiger Woods. After he hits a ball, the two go look for it to continue playing, and Thompson calls Megan his "good luck charm." Megan eventually attempts to hit a gold ball herself with Thompson guiding her every step of the way. The video ends with the two sharing a kiss, and Thompson declares that "ever since I've been in love, my golf game's reaped all the benefits." The couple first sparked romance rumors when Megan posted an Instagram photo with Thompson in the background in early July. On July 16, they made their red-carpet debut at the Inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City. An early surprise surfaces as the Eagles' look to replace Britain Covey

It's too early to make real determinations about the Eagles' return game, but let's offer a few theories anyway. Who knew that a brief practice at Philadelphia Eagles camp could spark so much discussion? Let's be honest; we all knew that. In MLB news, the Philadelphia Phillies are near baseball's trade deadline, but no one in the City of Brotherly Love or Delaware Valley is ignoring what has gone on at the NovaCare Complex. Everything is on the discussion table from Jalen Hurts' decision to pack his Super Bowl ring away without wearing it to Jihaad Campbell's surprise workout during the first day of training camp practice to Jalen Carter's shoulder injury and everything in between. No topic of discussion is too significant or too minor, and that includes Philadelphia's quest to replace its former returner, Britain Covey. The first training camp session of the summer offered a surprise. It was less about who got reps and more about who didn't. Avery Williams gets zero return reps during the first day of Eagles training camp practice. As brief as the Eagles' first practice session was, it provided us with much to discuss. Much will change in a week or two, but that won't stop us from narrating every unexpected wrinkle. Guys are wearing shorts. No one is wearing pads. Physical contact and tackling are off the table, but there was still plenty to take away from Wednesday's session and chew on. Avery Williams, someone Philadelphia signed with the expectation he'd battle for a returner's role, didn't get any snaps when punt return reps were offered. Instead, according to Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski, reps were offered to Ainias Smith, Giles Jackson, Taylor Morin, Cooper DeJean, and Jahan Dotson. Kempski also admits to not watching the entire session, but anyone who has been paying attention must admit. Part of the reason Smith was drafted was to provide Philadelphia with another option as a punt returner. The Eagles quickly evacuated that plan last season. That has much to do with why Avery Williams is on the roster, so seeing him work more specifically as part of the punt coverage does lead one to scratch one's head. It was only one day, and it's hard to imagine that Williams won't get his shot at some point. Better late than never, maybe. We'll see how things transpire as we progress. It does beg the question, though. If Philadelphia determines they have so many options that they like better at punt returner, how does Williams stand any shot at making the initial 53-man roster?
