Man arrested after serious assault in Welsh town

A 30-year-old man has been arrested following reports of a serious assault in Caerphilly and now police are appealing for any witnesses.
Gwent Police has confirmed the incident took place in Maxton Court between 2.15pm and 2.45pm on June 19. Officers attended the scene and arrested one man on suspicion of affray and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place. He has since been released on a conditional bail as police continue to investigate.
The force is asking any witnesses, or anyone with any CCTV footage, including dashcam footage, to contact them urgently.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We are investigating a report of an assault in the Lansbury Park area of Caerphilly.
"A man was allegedly assaulted by another man in Maxton Court between 2.15pm and 2.45pm on Thursday, June 19.

"Officers attended and a 30-year-old man, from Caerphilly, was arrested on suspicion of affray and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
"He was released on conditional bail as our investigation continues.
"Enquiries are ongoing and we're asking anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault or has any relevant information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, can contact us via the website, call us on 101 or send us a direct message on our Facebook or X social media channels, quoting log reference 2500193682.

Police appeal for help tracing motorbike after fatal Hammersmith shooting

Detectives investigating a fatal shooting in Hammersmith are appealing for the public's help in tracing a motorbike believed to have been used by the suspect. Police were called to Claxton Grove at 23:19 on Wednesday 11 June, where two men were found with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital where, despite the best efforts of medical staff, 30-year-old Northolt resident Jordan Oliver Rodney, died on Thursday, 12 June. The Met Police said his next of kin are being supported by specialist officers. The second man, also in his 30s, sustained minor injuries and has since been discharged from hospital. Jahmel Joseph, 28, of Eaton Rise, Ealing, was charged on Saturday 14 June with murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited weapon, and dangerous driving. He remains in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday 2 September. Officers from the Met's homicide team are now asking for help tracing a Yamaha MT-09 Tracer motorbike, which was captured on CCTV in the Ealing area near Eaton Rise. They believe it was used by the suspect around the time of the shooting. Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila said: 'We are working at pace on this investigation, but are asking the public to help us trace what we believe was the motorbike used by the suspect.
