The govt plans to make it mandatory for buyers to show proof of parking for any new registration in the near future. It also plans to introduce new measures to reduce congestion on city roads.
A detailed presentation was made on the subject, followed by inputs from stakeholders. The road transport fraternity submitted a memorandum, where the core point discussed was the conversion of old octroi nakas in Mumbai—specifically Mankhurd, Mulund, and Dahisar—into

equipped with parking bays and EV charging stations.
"We proposed that the govt should go ahead with converting the octroi nakas into truck terminals where all the heavy goods vehicles will terminate and goods will be offloaded," said Bal Malkit Singh from All India Motor Transport Congress. "In future, only smaller vehicles will be allowed to load the goods at the octroi naka and bring it inside the city. These vehicles will also run on environmentally friendly fuel such as CNG and electric.
This, in turn, will reduce not just congestion on roads but also air pollution," Singh said.
"Converting existing idle infrastructure like old octroi nakas into modern truck terminals is a practical, cost-effective step toward a cleaner, efficient, and future-ready transport ecosystem in line with the Union govt's vision for Viksit Bharat 2047," Singh added.

Union government recognition for digital revenue card scheme
The State's digital revenue card scheme is the first among 11 initiatives under the State Collaborative Initiatives (SCI) being implemented by the Union government's Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. All services from village offices in the State are now available online. However, applications have to be submitted each time certificates are needed for various requirements. The digital revenue cards, featuring a QR code and a 10-digit digital number, will streamline access to such services. Centre rolls out ₹1,000 crore ADEETIE scheme for MSMEs to adopt energy-efficient technologies
New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Power on Tuesday launched the ₹1,000 crore Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises ( MSMEs ) in adopting cleaner and energy-efficient technologies . The scheme was officially launched by Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal at Arya (P.G.) College in Panipat, Haryana. The ADEETIE scheme , implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), aims to provide financial and technical assistance to MSMEs through interest subvention on loans, investment grade energy audits, preparation of detailed project reports (DPRs), and post-implementation monitoring and verification. Interest subvention and budgetary allocation The scheme offers interest subvention of 5% for Micro and Small Enterprises and 3% for Medium Enterprises seeking loans for energy efficiency projects. Of the total outlay, ₹875 crore is earmarked for interest subvention, ₹50 crore for energy audits, and ₹75 crore for implementation support. According to BEE, the scheme is expected to mobilise ₹9,000 crore in investments, including ₹6,750 crore in prospective lending by MSMEs. Portal launched to streamline financing At the launch event, the Minister also unveiled the scheme brochure and inaugurated the dedicated portal ( ) to streamline the financing process for eligible beneficiaries. 'ADEETIE is a transformative movement to empower Indian industries, especially MSMEs, to become globally competitive through sustainability. With the right mix of incentives and support mechanisms, we are catalyzing investments in cleaner, more efficient technologies,' said Union Minister Manohar Lal. He added that various technologies featured under the scheme could help reduce MSMEs' energy consumption by 30–50%, improve the power-to-product ratio, and contribute to the development of green energy corridors. Focus on 60 MSME clusters, 14 sectors Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, said that BEE will play a central role in scaling up energy efficiency across 14 energy-intensive sectors and 60 identified MSME clusters in the first phase. He called for an enabling policy and financing environment to support MSMEs as contributors to India's climate goals. A.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), Government of Haryana, urged MSMEs to join the initiative to move away from fossil fuels and adopt sustainable practices. Support for MSME-led clean transition Akash Tripathi, Additional Secretary and Director General, BEE, said, 'The scheme will offer both technical and financial handholding to MSMEs. As India focuses on export-oriented industries, energy efficiency must be central to that growth — both to enhance productivity and reduce emissions.' The event also included the distribution of appreciation certificates to MSME units that participated in the pilot phase, and signing of MoUs with industrial associations. Two MSME representatives also shared early success stories from their participation in energy audits and technology upgrades. The ADEETIE scheme is aimed at accelerating India's shift to a low-carbon economy by equipping MSMEs with the tools needed to reduce energy intensity and enhance competitiveness.

HP CM calls on Nitin Gadkari, seeks repair of flash flood-damaged roads
New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday called on Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari here and apprised him of the massive damages caused by flash floods in the state. CM Sukhu sought support for the repair and reconstruction of damaged roads. He also urged for inclusion of a few roads in the PM Gati Shakti Yojana. He also updated the Union Minister about the delays in National Highway (NH) projects due to various reasons and requested early redressal. The Chief Minister also stressed on adopting tunnelling in the NH road projects and discussed the roads of strategic importance, which have already been raised with the Defence Ministry and urged for speedy action on them. He also urged the Union Minister to sanction more ropeway projects for the state to ease traffic congestion. The Union Minister assured of all possible assistance to the state and gave necessary directions to the officers. Earlier, the Chief Minister met the 16th Finance Commission Chairperson, Arvind Panagariya and sought cooperation for strengthening the financial condition of the state. CM Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh has been following the path of fiscal prudence and is one of the best-performing states in the country on various parameters, including Sustainable Development Goals. The Chief Minister urged the commission to support the state in its recommendations, keeping in view its financial condition. He said hill states incur a much higher expenditure as compared to other states, and added that devolution to a hill state should be at least twice their share of the population. He requested for continuation of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG), keeping in view topographical disadvantages and limited scope for raising revenue. CM Sukhu added that the state is facing a financial crisis because of the steep tapering of RDGs by the 15th Finance Commission.
