GMA Pictures named Producer of the Year at 7th EDDYS Awards
GMA Pictures will take home the Producer of the Year Award at The EDDYS on July 20.
GMA Pictures was hailed as Producer of the Year at the 8th EDDYS Awards given by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd).
GMA Pictures produced some of the best movies of 2024 -- Green Bones, Hello, Love, Again, Balota, and Lost Sabungeros.
Hello, Love, Again lead stars Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo will be awarded as Box Office Heroes after their movie made history with PhP1.6 billion in global earnings. Alden is also nominated for Best Actor with Dennis Trillo (Green Bones).
Hello, Love, Again and Green Bones are nominated for Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Editing, and Best Musical Score.
Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is nominated for Best Actress for the film Balota, while Ruru Madrid is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Green Bones, alongside Joross Gamboa for Hello, Love, Again.
Meanwhile, Zig Dulay is one of the nominees for Best Director for Green Bones with Hello, Love, Again director Cathy Garcia-Sampana. Green Bones is also nominated for Best Cinematography.
The EDDYS or The Entertainment Editors' Choice honors actors, writers, directors, and producers in the Philippines film industry. The 8th EDDYS will be on July 20 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.

Alden Richards to fly to UK for London Barrio Fiesta 2025
Alden Richards is set to fly to the United Kingdom for the London Barrio Fiesta 2025 happening from July 5 to 6 at the Cranford Community College in Hounslow. According to Nelson Canlas' report in "24 Oras" Thursday, the Asia's Multimedia Star just got back to the Philippines following his recent trip to Vietnam for the Da Nang Asian Film Festival where he made his directorial debut with his film, "Out of Order." Alden will be flying to London on Friday morning for the annual London Barrio Fiesta, which will also feature Sparkle stars Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz. "Magkita-kita po tayo diyan mga Kapuso, it's gonna be a fun-filled day and we're very excited. It's been a while since my last London trip as well so this time, nag-extend ako nang konti to be with my family. It's also their first time sa London so iikot ko sila dun," said Alden. Julie Anne and Rayver have already jetted off to London ahead of Alden. This will be their first time to visit and perform there together. The Kapuso couple currently hosts "The Clash" 2025, which airs every Sunday at 7:15 p.m. on GMA Network. Meanwhile, Alden is the host of the Kapuso dance competition "Stars on the Floor," which airs Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. on GMA. The show, which premiered on June 28, has been getting positive feedback, to which Alden is grateful. "Sobrang happy po kami sa magandang feedback ng mga Kapuso natin with this show. Kitang-kita lang how our hard work, passion and enjoyment show sa content ng show and tuloy-tuloy lang po, marami kaming hinanda para sa inyo," he said. Sassa Gurl to produce and star in film 'Multwoh' with Martin Del Rosario
Sassa Gurl is venturing into producing films! On X (formerly Twitter), the social media star shared a two-minute trailer of her upcoming project, 'Multwoh,' which she both produces and acts in. The trailer shows Sassa as a resident of Mommy Dory Dormitory, where she falls in love with a man played by Martin Del Rosario. But as their romance unfolds, a haunting twist is revealed—Sassa is actually a ghost. "Eto na yung prinoduce kong pelikula. Since walang pomopondo, tayo nalang mag produce ng sarili nating kwento," Sassa wrote, along with a rainbow flag emoji. Aside from Sassa and Martin, the film will also feature social media stars Gaia Poly and Pipay Kipay, and Kapuso actor Migs Almendras. It is directed by 'Drag Den' director Rod Singh. Since becoming an internet star, Sassa has acted in various acting projects such as 'Balota.'
