Serena Williams' daughter Olympia keeps mom humble during boat photo shoot

Miami Herald19 hours ago
Tennis great Serena Williams is sharing video evidence of how her oldest daughter, Olympia Ohanian, keeps her humble.
On July 1, Williams shared a video of herself on a boat seemingly preparing to take a photo. The tennis legend was wearing a green two-piece ensemble with a bit of her midriff showing.
However, as she found her pose, Olympia made it clear her mom's outfit was showing a bit too much skin for her taste.
It was in that moment that Olympia took matters into her own hands and covered up Williams' midriff by pulling up the top of her mom's skirt.
Williams didn't seem all that stunned by Olympia's reaction but did admit in the caption of the Instagram post that her 7-year-old daughter is 'always keeping me in check.'
'That hand said, 'and this ain't the first time,'' a commenter noticed.
Williams later wrote 'someone please let her know it's summer' alongside the eye roll emoji.
Fans in the comments encouraged Williams to save this video for when Olympia is older.
'In about 10 years show her this video and tell her she can't have her midriff showing either,' one commenter joked.
'My daughter does the same thing to me,' added another fan, 'she doesn't want anyone see where she was formed.'
'She said, 'Aht Aht momma, that's too much skin,'' said another commenter. 'Kids will humble you quickly!'
In addition to Olympia, Williams and her husband of 7 years, Alexis Ohanian, also share 1-year-old Adira as well.
On June 18, Williams shared a video of Olympia and Adira working together to give their mom a glow up.
'My glam team is back,' Williams wrote. 'They have such a fresh, young look they're curating for me. Can't wait to see how this turns out!'

Drake Topless Selfie Fuels Fake Abs Speculation

If you've kept up with Drake over the years, you might be aware of a long-running rumor that he underwent cosmetic surgery to get a 6-pack. In 2019, Drake hit back at a comment from DJ Carnage — with whom he was close friends — that mentioned his alleged plastic surgery. Carnage wrote, 'You got fake ab surgery in Colombia. You ain't fooling anybody,' to which Drake replied, 'Is this cause you are angry about the one thing that happened with that one person the other day that you thought was your wifey?' Fast forward to just last year, and the speculation around Drake's abs reached new heights after Kendrick Lamar released a very pointed lyric on his scathing track 'euphoria' amid their memorable feud. He rapped, 'Let your core audience stomach that, then tell 'em where you get your abs from.' Fellow artist Megan Thee Stallion also appeared to fuel the speculation on her 2024 track 'HISS.' She rapped, 'All these lil' rap n*ggas so fraud … These n*ggas hate on BBLs and be walkin' 'round with the same scars,' which some fans interpreted as a diss towards Drake, who rapped in 2022: 'This bitch lie 'bout gettin' shots, but she still a stallion.' Several people guessed that Drake was accusing Megan of lying about being shot by Tory Lanez, which you can read more about here, though some questioned if he was also accusing her of lying about getting cosmetic injections. It's worth highlighting that amid all the rumors, there is no proof that Drake has undergone cosmetic surgery. But with that in mind, a recent shirtless selfie from the rapper has fueled speculation that his abs are 'fake.' On Sunday, Drake shared this selfie as part of an Instagram carousel: And the comments didn't hold back. 'Ordered abs from temu n forgot to add shoulders n tri lol,' read one comment with over 18,000 likes. Another said, 'No shoulders, no biceps, deflated chest but extremely defined abs lmao.' Meanwhile, users of Reddit were equally perplexed. 'The level of definition in his abs makes absolutely no sense with the rest of his body,' one person wrote. Another quipped, 'It's giving 'novelty apron.'' Well then! Let me know what you think down below.

Prayers Pouring In For Women's Tennis Star Jessica Pegula

Prayers Pouring In For Women's Tennis Star Jessica Pegula originally appeared on The Spun. Tennis fans are keeping Jessica Pegula in their thoughts after Tuesday's loss at Wimbledon. Pegula, the No. 3 women's player in the world, was dismantled by Elisabetta Cocciaretto 6-2, 6-3 in the opening round at Wimbledon. It was a disappointing result considering she was coming off a title run at Bad Homburg. Advertisement "She played absolutely incredible tennis," Pegula said. "Do I think I played the best match ever? No. But I definitely don't think I was playing bad. It wasn't like I was playing that bad. She just was hitting her shots and going for it, serving big, serving high percentage, going big second serves, redirecting the ball. It was just her day, I honestly think." This is the third Grand Slam tournament in a row that Pegula failed to reach the quarterfinals. After she lost in the fourth round at the French Open, she received a handful of death threats from angry gamblers on social media. "These betters are insane and delusional and I don't allow dms and try to remember when to shut my comments off during tournament weeks but they always find a way to my timeline," Pegula wrote. "This stuff has never really bothered me much but does any other sport deal with this to our level? I'd love to know because it seems to be predominately tennis?? It's so disturbing." Pegula added, "Every person on tour deals with it. It's so bad. Those are just really small snippets. I get told my family should get cancer and die from people on here on a regular basis. Absolutely crazy." Even though Pegula has limited comments on Instagram, fans are worried she'll receive more nasty messages in the coming days. Advertisement "I feel for Pegula! She comes from playing one of her best tennis to find a very determined player that fought every point," one fan said. "She's been upset very early, a few times in the last few tournaments. It seems to happen when Jessica Pegula can't seem to focus, because of family issues. I hope and pray everyone is ok in the Pegula family," another person wrote. "I feel so bad for these athletes like Pegula having to take this sort of abuse on social media," a third person commented. We're certainly hoping people leave Pegula alone. There's no place in sports for disgraceful behavior. Pegula will regroup and try to make a run at the US Open later this summer. She made it to the final last year before losing to Aryna Sabalenka. Woman Rescues Kitten Thrown Out of Car in Garbage Bag, Then Comes a Twist

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. A woman who saved a kitten tossed out of a car window in a trash bag had no idea what would happen next. Melody Parson (@melodyandjiggy), 29, was working at an animal hospital in November 2019 and received a FaceTime call from a good friend and coworker. Traffic had come to a stop on the interstate because someone had thrown a kitten onto the road. The kitten, now named Jiggy, was seizing and bleeding from the nose. "Delilah asked if she could bring her to our hospital and if I'd pay for the care. Our hospital was pretty strict about not doing any good samaritan services, but Delilah knew I'd help any cat in need. "She brought Jiggy over and it was love at first sight. I knew she was going to be mine forever. The doctor told me to keep a close eye on her because she might not make it through the night. Jiggy surprised everyone by surviving as long as she has despite all her ailments," she told Newsweek. A split image showing Jiggy the cat perched on the floor. A video shared to Instagram by Parson revealed that after Jiggy's surprise arrival into her life, would come yet another twist: the kitten never grew in size due to dwarfism. "I didn't know it yet but the kitten I rescued after she was thrown out of a car in a garbage bag was going to stay this size forever," the overlay text reads on the post which had received over 114,000 likes at the time of writing. Now five years old, Jiggy's birthday is celebrated on Halloween—chosen for fun, since she was rescued in early November. "Her pint sized body packs a terrible diva attitude," Parson added. Jiggy is known to yell to be let under the covers for a cuddle and growls at her feline sisters if they even look in her direction. "Everyone loves hearing her crispy little meows," she said. Jiggy's development was different from the start. She didn't run or jump like a typical kitten, instead shimmying around. At four months old, she was significantly underweight and missing teeth, prompting a neurologist consult. The theory was that the trauma from being thrown from a moving car impacted her pituitary gland, stunting her growth. Because Jiggy reacted poorly to anesthesia during her spay, doctors avoided further procedures like an MRI. Despite the lack of neurological symptoms beyond her small size and mobility issues, her condition has required careful monitoring. "She's never been able to jump like a normal cat, and she never will," her owner explained, noting that ramps and stairs help Jiggy stay mobile. She's also had arthritis since the age of one and receives injections and supplements for the pain. Her dwarfism caused a kidney deformity, and she's been in kidney failure for most of her life. "This is especially hard to deal with since she has a disdain for wet food," she said. Despite that, her kidney values are monitored closely and have steadily improved with a special diet and treatment. "I truly believe that Jiggy and I share a special bond," she said. "Sometimes I think that our love keeps her alive despite all odds being stacked against her. I am so grateful for all of the time I've gotten to share with her, and I hope we can have many more years together." Support for Jiggy poured in from Instagram followers. "I'm so glad baby Jiggy is with someone who loves her as much as she loves you," one commenter wrote. Another added, "She's so lucky to have you. Whoever did that to her has no heart or soul to say the least. She's the most precious baby to walk the planet." Another user summed it up: "How anyone could do that to any animal is beyond me. It makes me so upset. I'm happy miss Jiggy found you." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
