After being legitimately stranded in the United Kingdom for several days, Drew McIntyre has successfully returned to the United States. His status for this weekend's SummerSlam premium live event is no longer in jeopardy.
The former WWE Champion announced the good news on his social media accounts. He had been stuck overseas due to a passport issue after traveling to England for a friend's wedding.
The Crisis Is Over
In a new video posted to his X account, McIntyre confirmed he was back on U.S. soil. In the clip, he also humorously brushed off an offer from The Miz, who had proposed taking his place in the SummerSlam match. McIntyre then joked that his tag team partner, Logan Paul, had flown over in a private jet to collect him.
The update brings an end to a tense, real-life situation. Reports from both PWInsider and Fightful Select had confirmed that McIntyre's travel problem was legitimate and that WWE had begun producing "alternate plans" for the SummerSlam match in case he did not make it back in time.
A Masterclass In Blurring The Lines
Throughout the entire ordeal, Drew McIntyre masterfully blended reality with his on-screen character. He used the legitimate and stressful travel problem as an opportunity to cut promos, staying in character and blaming his SummerSlam opponent, Jelly Roll, for the "sabotage." This is a perfect example of his current, bitter heel persona, where he believes the world is conspiring against him.

More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match
His ability to turn a real-life headache into storyline fuel has generated massive buzz online. It has added another layer of intrigue to his already high-profile match.
All Roads Lead To SummerSlam
With McIntyre now back in the United States, the massive celebrity tag team match is set to go on as planned. On Night One of SummerSlam this Saturday, August 2nd, Drew McIntyre will team with United States Champion Logan Paul to take on the duo of Randy Orton and the musician Jelly Roll.
The feud has been built around the theme of "outsiders" in wrestling. McIntyre and Paul have positioned themselves as protectors of the business against the "disrespectful" Jelly Roll. Now that the real-life drama has been resolved, the focus can turn back to the in-ring war at MetLife Stadium.

Report: Details Behind Seth Rollins' SummerSlam Cash-In

Seth Rollins now has two incredibly memorable Money in the Bank cash-ins in his career following Night One of WWE SummerSlam. Following last night's SummerSlam main event that saw CM Punk defeat Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship, Seth Rollins made his return to WWE programming by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and becoming World Champion once again. There has been much speculation surrounding Rollins' supposed injury following Saturday Night's Main Event last month. We now have more information on the series of events that led to last night's cash-in. According to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), the entire situation with Rollins was kept incredibly close to the vest. Starting with Saturday Night's Main Event, Rollins was penciled in to win the match against LA Knight. This was done to help the moment come across as legitimate to many people backstage who weren't in the know. Rollins even kept some close to him in the dark who expressed concern to Sapp over the weekend about the injury and not hearing back from him following the incident. Seth appeared backstage on crutches at Evolution the following night to sell the injury. Last night's cash-in wasn't on any of the SummerSlam internal rundowns. And yesterday afternoon, many in the company didn't expect it to happen. As the night went on, Rollins emerged backstage during the main event, and things began to shift. It is also believed that WWE Unreal director Chris Weaver was backstage for this moment. The docuseries is planned for a second season next year. You can bet this entire story will be heavily covered on one of those episodes. Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available. CM Punk Mocks Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman For ‘Coldplay' Moment At WWE SummerSlam

At least CM Punk found it in himself to crack a joke after Seth Rollins ruined his weekend. Seth Rollins pulled off the 'ruse of the century' on Saturday night, as he returned from a knee 'injury' to cash in his Money In The Bank contract after Punk beat Gunther for the world title. Rollins and Heyman embraced in the ring, with Heyman hugging Rollins around his waist. Now, CM Punk has recovered from the loss long enough to post the following dig at Rollins and Heyman on his Instagram Stories, comparing Heyman's hug to the now-infamous Coldplay concert kiss cam scandal. Punk captioned his post, 'Not baby girl coded. All ham sandwiches.' 'Baby girl coded' is slang for a guy who isn't super masculine, but has characteristics typically associated with femininity, like a 'little spoon' in a relationship. The ham sandwiches line is also a reference to them 'hamming it up' or overacting for the cameras. What happened at the Coldplay concert? The Coldplay concert scandal took place two weeks ago at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was shown on camera cuddling up to his company's head of HR, Kristin Cabot. The problem with that, aside from a potential company policy issue with dating within the workplace, is that Byron is married to another woman. Byron immediately ducked out of the camera frame, and he has since resigned from the company. Coldplay's Chris Martin even joked about the awkward situation, speculating that the couple was having an affair. The incident has resulted in many spoofs since then, including the Philadelphia Phillies Phanatics mascots recreating the moment. It seems possible that Heyman had this in mind when embracing Rollins. However, there's no doubt about the intent of Punk's post. Catch up on everything that went down at WWE SummerSlam on night one (here) and night two (here). Cardi B hosts WWE SummerSlam in a yards-long feathered cape and corset

Came through drippin' — in feathers, that is. Cardi B hosted WWE SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium Saturday, bringing the drama in an attention-grabbing feather cape with a yards-long train. Styled by Kollin Carter, the musician turned heads as she stepped out in a custom plumage-covered piece courtesy of Cheney Chan, which took up quite a bit of the stage. Cardi B wore the floor-sweeping cape atop a coordinating feathered corset bodysuit with a sweetheart neckline, also created by the Beijing-based couture designer. The mother of three balanced out the leg-baring look with black knee-high boots from Le Silla. Hairstylist Tokyo Stylez pulled Cardi B's long, dark tresses into an incredibly high (and tight ponytail), while makeup artist Erika La' Pearl made her eyes pop with i-ENVY lashes. 'HELLO!!! It's me… Welcome to SUMMER SLAM! ,' Cardi B captioned an Instagram video from night one of the two-day wrestling event. 'The way you can put anything on and make it look good ' one person commented on the post. During her hosting duties, Cardi previewed a new song from her upcoming sophomore album, 'Am I the Drama?' The record's slated for a September 19 release, and shows the rapper surrounded by black crows. As a nod to the album art, Cardi's been flocking to bird-inspired looks lately, having attended the Schiaparelli fall 2025 couture show last month with a live crow perched on her hand.
