Inside Dannii Minogue's difficult relationship with Julian McMahon's socialite mother and how she wouldn't even let her into her home - as she stays silent on ex-husband's death
Julian, the son of former Australian Prime Minister William McMahon and Sonia, died last week at age 56 after a private battle with cancer.
His heartbroken wife, Kelly Paniagua, confirmed the devastating news in an emotional statement on July 4.
Years before his relationship with Kelly and his Hollywood breakthrough, Julian was married to his Home and Away co-star and singer Dannii.
The pair, who met on the set of the hit soap in the late '80s, wed in 1994 during what was dubbed a 'fairytale' showbiz wedding.

But behind the scenes, things were far from picture-perfect.
Their marriage lasted just 18 months, with Dannii later revealing in an interview that Julian's mother never approved of their union.
'There was no relationship, she wouldn't speak to me, I wasn't allowed to be near her in the house,' she told No Filter at the time.
'We just had no idea how to handle it - we were just trying to'.
Dannii said that the romance was complicated by financial issues.
'She (Julian's mother) didn't support her son, I did. I paid for everything and I worked every day to earn that money to pay for everything,' the actress said.
The singer also claimed the constant travel between the UK and US to keep their relationship alive left her in debt.
'I not only ran out of money - I was in debt,' Dannii explained.
'It was a huge struggle emotionally, physically, mentally, financially.'
She eventually decided to strip naked for Playboy to pay off her crippling debts and admitted her parents didn't want her to pose for the magazine.
'My parents didn't want me to do it. My dad was saying ''doing this is forever - you can never, ever change it,"' she told news.com.au.
'[Her sister] Kylie knew why I was doing it. I could have asked her for the money, but it wasn't in my nature.
'I never wanted to admit the trouble I was in. I should have been looking at my finances.'
Dannii also discussed her difficult relationship with her former mother-in-law in a candid interview on Anh's Brush with Fame in 2019.
'She [Sonia] would not let me go to the family house. Sometimes Julian had to go and collect something and I was waiting in the car out the front,' she said.
'It was as if I'd done something wrong to the family, but I hadn't done anything wrong.'
Dannii also revealed how Sonia had initially refused to show up on her wedding day.
'So she did end up coming and was causing a scene… it wasn't the greatest… it was hard. I just tried to stay away from it, I just wanted to enjoy the day,' she said.
After his short-lived marriage to Dannii, Julian tied the knot with American actress Brooke Burns, best known for her role in Baywatch, in 1999.
The couple welcomed daughter Madison, now 25, the following year, but their marriage collapsed in 2001.
Burns, 46, honoured her late ex-husband with a touching Instagram tribute following news of his passing, sharing a sweet photo of Julian with their daughter and writing simply: 'Rest in peace .'
But their relationship wasn't without controversy.
During their short-lived union, Julian was rumoured to have had a fling with his Charmed co-star Shannen Doherty.
The timing of the alleged romance reportedly overlapped with the final season of Doherty's role on the show in 2000-2001.
Burns reportedly discovered the affair in the tabloids.
'It was the straw that broke the camel's back,' Burns once told Nicki Swift, later admitting, 'He got carried away by all the Los Angeles hoopla.'
Doherty died after a battle with breast cancer in July 2024 - just a year before Julian.
Julian praised his ex-wife following their split and described their co-parenting of their daughter as relatively harmonious.
'We just go day by day, basically. Whoever has the most amount of work will not have the child that day or night,' he told Ocean Drive Magazine in 2003.
'It basically stems from the fact that we want our daughter to spend as much time with each parent as she can.'
He added: 'If it comes down to trying to give your child the best life you possibly can, then it kind of comes easy.
'It's not about arguing, fighting and trying to manipulate each other anymore.
'It's just about trying to make sure that our little girl grows up with everything we can offer her.'
After two high-profile breakups, Julian kept his next relationship largely out of the spotlight.
He began dating author and model Kelly Paniagua in 2003, and after more than a decade together, the pair married in a quiet ceremony at Lake Tahoe in 2014.
According to reports at the time, the actor popped the question during a romantic trip to Melbourne in late 2013.
Unlike his past marriages, Julian and Kelly kept their love life intensely private, rarely appearing together at events or discussing their relationship in interviews.
In her heart-wrenching statement, Kelly described Julian as her 'beloved husband,' saying he 'died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.'
'He was truly one of a kind,' she added.

Bec Judd's brutally honest podcast hits major milestone just 24 hours after being launched as the WAG's new venture becomes a smash hit
Rebecca Judd is on cloud nine after her brand new podcast soared to the top of the charts less than 24 hours after launching. The AFL WAG, 42, took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate hitting number one on Apple Podcasts with her new beauty and lifestyle series Vain-ish, which she co-hosts with best friend Jess Roberts. 'Your Vain-ish gals are number 1 on Apple!!! 24hrs in and we've been blown away by your support,' Bec captioned the post. In the image, the duo are seen lounging in matching black mini dresses and Christian Louboutin heels, complete with face masks, white sunglasses and towels wrapped around their heads. 'Thanks to @listnrentertainment for believing in us. Love Bec and Jess and @vainishpodcast.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In the background, a Louis Vuitton shopping bag and several luxury beauty boxes were visible, setting the scene for the ultimate WAG-approved pamper session. It didn't take long for Bec's inner circle of fellow WAGs and influencers to rally behind her in the comments section. 'You go girls!!! Incredible x,' gushed fashion designer Nadia Bartel. Former Miss World Australia Erin Holland also showed her support, commenting with a string of clapping emojis. It's a major win for Bec and Jess, who have already made headlines for their brutally honest discussions about beauty standards, cosmetic procedures and wellness hacks. During the debut episode, Judd gave fans an in-depth look at her morning beauty routine - revealing she kicks off her day with an infrared sauna, applies fake tan, wears false lashes, and even plucks out every single grey hair she can find. 'I have hair extensions sewn in, I used a prescription lash serum this morning to make my eyelashes grow better and I've got a fresh set of shellac gel nails,' she revealed on the show. She also removes her Invisalign trays to squeeze in a 15-minute whitening session, before downing a breakfast of superfood porridge with glutamate and a collagen smoothie. 'I stuck my silicone nipple pads on, I overdrew my lips, I contoured my face and pulled my hair back into a really tight pony to give myself a non-surgical brow lift before I waltzed into this studio,' she added. The mother-of-four has also been candid about trying high-end treatments like the 'salmon sperm facial' - a biostimulatory injectable that hydrates and rejuvenates thinning skin. Speaking to Stellar magazine recently, the Jaggad founder vowed to be completely transparent about the lengths she goes to in order to maintain her youthful glow. 'I'm 42, and I don't have a line on my face. I'm telling you it's not because I get eight hours' sleep a night, all right?' she said. Judd added that 2025 should be the year women stop being shamed for discussing the procedures they've had done. 'You get to a certain age where it's like, come on, let's be a bit more honest. This is the year where we stop bullsh***ing everyone and we fess up,' she said on the podcast. It comes after Bec shared a photo of her neck visibly swollen and red following a non-invasive Exion microneedling treatment with her cosmetic nurse Claire McGuinness, asking followers to 'give me Kris Jenner's neck without the surgery.'

Kanye West's wife Bianca Censori puts on eye-popping display in plunging bodysuit for racy snaps
Kanye West captured more racy snaps of his wife and muse, Bianca Censori, which she proudly shared to her Instagram on Sunday. The Australian architect, 30, sent pulses racing as she posted three new sizzling polaroid images, including one of her posing braless in a plunging white bodysuit that highlighted her ample cleavage. The brunette beauty — who recently shocked onlookers as she stepped out in candy lingerie — rocked what looked to be a shaggy blonde wig for the occasion, along with white stockings and light pink heels. Another outfit saw her in nothing but a pink bra, sheer hosiery, and high heels as she stood in a bare room in front of a window. Meanwhile the last one featured Bianca wearing an oversized white fur coat with heels, and her wavy blonde wig obscuring most of her face. 'Shot by @ye,' she captioned all three of her photos, crediting the controversial rapper, 48, for the shots. Kanye West, 48, captured more racy snaps of his wife and muse, Bianca Censori, 30, which she proudly shared to her Instagram on Sunday A day prior, she shared similar images, wearing a strapless see-through nightie draped over a set of white lingerie. Heightening the retro air of the photo-shoot, Censori was wearing a voluminous blonde hairdo with 1980s waves and a lush fringe. Ever since they secretly tied the knot in 2022, Bianca has consistently shocked fans with the barely-there ensembles her husband styles for her. It comes amid recent reports that Kanye pays Bianca to wear some of her head-turning looks. It is claimed that West chooses her daring looks to not only aid in keeping his 'edgy persona' but to also show that his wife is 'the sexiest woman alive', according to a source who spoke with The U.S. Sun. The source stated that while some of the outfits she wears in public 'aren't to her taste' - she has since learned how to make it an 'advantage.' 'Bianca has figured out how to turn all this into her advantage. A lot of the outfits aren't to her taste. But she tells him she will wear them - if she's paid.' The Heartless rapper had allegedly offered Bianca a salary wage to don head-turning ensembles, but she turned that down, and instead requested that she be paid based on each look. The source added that they believe Censori has made around $3 million due to the deal and said, 'She's essentially monetizing her image.' One outfit that she reportedly was paid $120k to wear was the naked dress ensemble at the 2025 Grammy Awards back in February. The latest post comes four days after it emerged West's visa to her native Australia has been canceled. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke has revealed that West is being denied entry to the country over his antisemitic song praising Adolf Hitler. The track, titled Heil Hitler, was dropped by the singer on May 8 and was deemed to be 'promoting Nazism'. As a result, officials revised West's 'lower-level' visa and came to the decision that it would be revoked. 'He's been coming to Australia for a long time. He's got family here and he's made a lot of offensive comments that my officials looked at again,' Burke told the ABC. 'Once he released the Heil Hitler song, he no longer has a valid visa in Australia. 'It wasn't a visa for the purpose of concerts. It was a lower-level and the officials still looked at the law and said, you're going to have a song and promote that sort of Nazism, we don't need that in Australia.' West has flown to Australia in the past, and was most recently believed to be planning a trip Down Under to visit the family of his Australian wife, Bianca Censori. In May, West took aim at Kim Kardashian, referenced his sex life with wife Censori, and continued to profess his love for Adolf Hitler as he released the music video for his vile new song, Heil Hitler (Hooligan Version). The rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the clip, which showed a group of shirtless males draped in animal skins professing their love for Hitler. His chosen day to release the song was also of significance because it fell on VE Day - the 80-year anniversary of when fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe came to an end. In the song, Kanye rapped that he had 'so much anger' inside of him adding: 'these people took my kids from me and they froze my bank account.' The Chicago native has publicly clashed with ex-wife Kim, 44, about the co-parenting of their 11-year-old daughter, North and their three younger kids - daughter Chicago, seven; and sons Saint, nine, and Psalm, five - claiming he has not been allowed to see them. He claimed that be became a Nazi because of his custody battle, singing: 'With all of my money and fame I still don't get to see my children / N*****s see my Twitter but they don't see how I be feeling / So I became a Nazi, yeah b***h, I'm the villain.' The line, 'N****r, heil Hitler' is repeated 15 times in the song. Kanye also referenced his wild antics with new wife Bianca - who he has been accused of 'controlling' by parading her around in near-naked ensembles. In the song he claimed to be a 'cuck'. Cuckholding is widely used to describe the fetish where people (usually men) are turned on by their partners having affairs. He sang: 'Guess I am a cuck, I love when people f**k on my b***h', later adding: 'She reaching down in my pants. She got the world in her hands.' The song ended with Kanye sampling one of Hitler's speech in 1935. Kanye has remained in the crosshairs of controversy for much of the year amid a torrent of posts propagating antisemitism. On February 11, the shop on Kanye's Yeezy Website - which he advertised with an expensive ad during the Super Bowl - was taken offline by Shopify after he was selling a white shirt with a black swastika in the center. Sources close to Kim told that she is now taking extra precautions and has hired guards to be with her 24/7 amid his erratic behavior. The reality star has also told relatives to be careful sharing anything about her children online, the source revealed. She has instructed her closest allies not to post about their locations or upload photos or messages that could identify where they might be. 'She's absolutely horrified,' the source told the Daily Mail. 'Like every time things get bad with Kanye, somehow they get worse.' They finalised their divorce in 2022 and agreed to joint custody of their children, but the conflict between them has continued.

Nick Kyrgios lands new role for ‘alternative' coverage of Wimbledon finals
Nick Kyrgios will provide 'watchalong' punditry on TNT Sport's new Wimbledon coverage after hitting out at his BBC omission from this year's coverage. In what is being promoted as spicy 'alternative' commentary for the tournament, Kyrgios will be providing analysis for both the men's and women's finals. TNT Sports sources played down any suggestion its coverage, which also features on Discovery+, will be a direct competitor to the BBC's. Instead, the channel says it is offering its subscribers 'an alternative viewing experience' generally of coverage. However, the choice of Kyrgios will not go unnoticed at the BBC after he said it was 'their loss' that he would not be on corporation coverage. TNT's studio coverage is fronted by Craig Doyle, with Alastair Eykyn providing lead commentary. Kyrgios will be joined by fellow players CoCo Vandeweghe and Dan Evans in what appears to be a lively analyst line-up. The Australian joined the BBC's team last year as a commentator and pundit after he was ruled out of the tournament with a wrist injury and was a popular guest among viewers. However, his inclusion caused controversy with senior MPs after Caroline Nokes, the then Women and Equalities select committee chair, said the BBC should 'hang its head in shame' for agreeing terms after he admitted to assaulting an ex-girlfriend. 'I know I'm a great commentator,' the 30-year-old had said since, adding 'it's unfortunate but it's probably their loss more than mine' when asked about the BBC's decision to not use him at Wimbledon. In addition to a daily highlights show throughout the tournament, TNT Sports is broadcasting both finals live after Eurosport was folded into its coverage. Eurosport has held the rights to broadcast both singles finals in the UK from Wimbledon since 2016. That package is not viewed as a direct competitor to the BBC's as it serves another 10 markets for Eurosport. Outspoken watchalong formats have become increasingly popular with younger viewers in the era of multi-screening. YouTube influencers such as Mark Goldbridge have huge followings after pioneering the style. Gary Neville has also dabbled with a watchalong format for his Overlap podcast platform.
