On Saturday in Glasgow, Scotland, one of the land's greatest fighters and former champions, Josh Taylor, will take on Ekow Essuman in the main event of the Land of the Brave.
Taylor, 34, is looking to make a move up to welterweight and to end a two-fight losing streak. Essuman, 36, is looking to land the biggest win of his career and potentially earn a shot at a title down the line.

Taylor, a former world champion at junior welterweight, may be in a last-gasp situation as it pertains to world-title relevancy. He lost back-to-back unanimous decisions to Jack Catterall and Teofimo Lopez and now looks to find some success in a new weight class.
While Taylor sounded focused and determined to dispel any thoughts that he might be washed, Essuman, the older—yet less accomplished—fighter, stayed mild and even-keeled throughout the presser.
Essuman was told by one reporter: 'You're in the deep blue sea now with Josh Taylor here; former undisputed champion, says he's going to take you out on Saturday. What are your thoughts?'
Essuman calmly responded: 'And? Like, that's the whole point of it. Like, we're supposed to do that. I don't take offence to it. It is what it is. He's in my way, I'm in his way. It is what it is.'
There doesn't appear to be any bad blood between the two fighters, and the draw here is more about finding out what Taylor has left in the tank.
The co-main event will see McGregor trying to take the '0' from the talented Nathaniel Collins, and we'll also see promising heavyweight KO artist Moses Itauma in what could be his toughest test to date against Mike Balogun.

The weekend before Wimbledon, with most of the tennis elite either in south-west London or a town in Germany, two rising prospects played a barnstorming 22-point final-set tiebreak, which ended with Maya Joint of Australia triumphing over Alex Eala of the Philippines, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(10). Joint saved four championship points. Eala ended the match in tears. Both of them saved their best, bravest tennis for the most decisive moments of the match. On the championship points that Eala missed, she missed in trusting her shots, not because she was tentative. Joint is 19 and Eala is 20. Joint, who was born in the U.S. but represents Australia, planned to play college tennis in Texas, but turned professional shortly after earning her first WTA Tour win at the 2024 U.S. Open. Eala, who has been making tennis history for the Philippines since she was 12, announced herself to the tennis world earlier this year in Miami, when she beat three Grand Slam champions in a row on the way to the semifinals. On the grass at Eastbourne, they showed why they are both ready to rise further, even if one of them had to lose. Over in Bad Homburg in Germany, world No. 3 Jessica Pegula's grass-court acumen proved a bridge too far for Iga Świątek, the five-time Grand Slam champion who is much better on it than most in tennis — and even Świątek herself — would assume. But to be that player, the Pole needs her serve to fire. It fired all week in Germany, until the final. She could not find her targets in the first set, making just under half of her first serves and putting herself on the back foot too often. Pegula broke with the score at 3-3, and did it again at 5-5 in the second set, edging out a 6-4, 7-5 win and becoming the only women's player to win a title on all three surfaces in 2025. Advertisement Even in defeat, the second set should give Świątek more belief about her grass capabilities. She was the dominant player once rallies began and constantly ate into Pegula's serve advantage, but she also couldn't convert that dominance into break points. Pegula's flat, persistently powerful ball led Świątek to overpress, even when she was seeing results from hitting with more shape and height to push the American back, like she did in beating Jasmine Paolini in the semifinal. All four finalists will now travel to Wimbledon, where the main draw begins June 30. In the meantime, Eastbourne can bask in the knowledge that an administrative downgrade need not diminish its importance. Produce quality tennis, and they will come.

Bryan Mbeumo wants Manchester United move, but bids rejected A report from The Athletic says that Bryan Mbeumo has told Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur that he wants to join Manchester United if he leaves Brentford this summer. Per the report, Mbeumo is fully-focused on signing for United and he's made his mind up. But Brentford have also rejected United's latest bid of $85 million. The Cameroon striker, still just 25, has been consistently excellent over the last few seasons and his experience in the Premier League will be crucial to Ruben Amorim if he can get this deal over the line. It's also interesting that United are now going for proven Premier League stars from clubs outside the 'big six' rather than looking elsewhere in the world for their marquee signings. With Matheus Cunha, 26, already on board from Wolves, Mbeumo's arrival would have a similar impact and that duo should deliver goals and assists straight away and they aren't young talents. They are experienced pros ready to hit the ground running and prove themselves at a top club. Imagine Cunha and Mbeumo linking up with Bruno Fernandes and latching on to his through balls? Wowza. Arsenal eyeing up Eze A report from Sky Sports says that Arsenal are interested in signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. Per other reports, including this one from Ben Jacobs, there is a $93 million release clause for Eze and the fee can be paid in installments. Spurs have been linked with a move for Eze but it appears the England international could be heading to Arsenal. This feels like the right time for Eze, 26, to leave Palace after winning the FA Cup and qualifying the Eagles for Europe in the process. He has basically completed all he can achieve at Palace. Eze going to Arsenal makes so much sense for everyone. He slots into the category of Arsenal spending big money on proven Premier League stars such as Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. Eze could play off the left wing, or challenge Martin Odegaard for one of the midfield spots because Mikel Arteta is probably going to play two holding midfielders with Rice and expected new signing Martin Zubimendi likely to start there. Eze would give the Gunners something they don't really have: creativity and direct running from central areas in the final third. They have that with Bukayo Saka on the right and the likes of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on the left, but Eze instantly gives opponents a whole world of problems to try and figure out. Once again, this move makes so much sense for both Eze and Arsenal. It's just all rather sensible.
