Carrie Bickmore announces major career move as she make surprise return to TV in star-studded show
The former Project host is lending her voice to a brand new children's animated series spearheaded by none other than comedian and author Andy Lee, who's bringing his wildly successful book franchise Do Not Open This Book to life.
The new show, cheekily titled Do Not Watch This Show, is set to premiere on the ABC and will see a slew of familiar Aussie stars step into colourful and quirky roles.
Carrie, will join the likes of Dave 'Hughesy' Hughes, Chrissie Swan, Tony Armstrong, Hamish Blake and Have You Been Paying Attention? favourite Glenn Robbins.
The series will follow the chaotic antics of blue monster Wizz, voiced by Andy himself, across 12 short 11-minute episodes designed to keep young kids giggling - and their parents guessing who's behind the voices.

'I'm a bit of a control freak,' Andy told Yahoo Lifestyle of his new series before revealing he's been working on the project since 2019.
'We produced this with my company Radio Karate, which has been awesome. The casting was great fun - there were a bunch of phone calls and favours.'
And those favours certainly paid off, with a who's-who of Aussie TV and radio personalities jumping on board.
Comedian Denise Scott plays a tortoise, Joel Creasey is a sassy lime, Kiwi comic Kura Forrester voices a kiwi bird, while Hughesy is stepping into the role of a goblin - naturally.
'Hughesy plays Goblin and I just love the idea that, hopefully, if we can sell this around the world, that Hughesy's voice will be synonymous with a goblin,' Andy joked.
Creasey's role also raised eyebrows. 'There aren't too many flamboyant characters in kids' TV like the way Joel Creasey has owned Lime,' Andy added.
Carrie's cameo in the series marks her first major TV appearance since leaving The Project.
The move also reunites her with longtime friends and former co-hosts in a fresh new way - swapping news bulletins and talk panels for animated mischief and monster-filled mayhem.
Carrie is meanwhile making headlines for her rumoured romance with radio co-star Tommy Little.
The couple have gone on another holiday together amid persistent rumours of a romance between the radio co-hosts.
This time they have travelled to Hayman Island, which is known to be perfect for couples seeking a romantic holiday.
However, the pair have been joined by their Carrie & Tommy show colleagues at the InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef, for what appears to be a work trip.
Carrie shared a reel of photos from the idyllic getaway, including one where she sizzles in a hot pink patterned bikini.
She also turned up the heat in an animal print low-cut dress for dinner at the hotel's restaurant.
The pair, who have long been the subject of romance rumours thanks to their on-air chemistry and flirty social media exchanges, have been in each other's pockets lately.
They recently returned from South Africa, where they both competed in the Big 5 Marathon to raise money for Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer charity.
Carrie recently showed her support for Tommy's career when she stepped out at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival to cheer him on during one of his shows.

Channel Ten 's new program 10 News+ has dived even further in the ratings after a disappointing first week. The hard-hitting current affairs series, hosted by former Channel Seven reporters Denham Hitchcock and Amelia Brace, launched last week a national average audience of just 291,000. Those figures have only gotten worse, dropping to 244,000 by Tuesday and sliding further still to 205,000 by mid week. Thursday's ratings keep skidding into oblivious, with just 159,000 national viewers tuning in. On Friday, the situation was decidedly grim, with only 152,000 viewers switching on the in-depth news program. Meanwhile, a very healthy 478,000 viewers tuned in last Friday to watch The Project's emotional finale. It's not good news for the program after KIIS FM radio host Kyle Sandilands, 54, slammed the first episode, claiming it was difficult to watch. 'Being a Channel Seven network employee, I still committed to watch 7News but I recorded 10News+ and went back to watch it,' he explained on his radio show on Tuesday. 'I know it was the first episode and it's tough to critique the first, but it was weird. It was like ABC TV had sex with Ron Burgundy and that's what came out.' Kyle said the news series didn't air 'one story I cared about.' 'They are nice folks at Channel 10, but they want to be this high and mighty. The 'main' polyamorous girlfriend of Travers 'Candyman' Beynon has quietly split from the tobacco tycoon, it can be revealed - as he vanishes from social media. Nisha Downes moved into the sprawling 'Candy Shop Mansion' home of married Mr Beynon - who dubbed himself the Candyman due to his gaudy, Instagram-focused lifestyle - on Queensland 's sunny Gold Coast in 2015. Now, 29, Nisha confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that she has traded in her old life of wild parties, designer shopping sprees and sex for a more conventional relationship and way of living. 'I was 19 when I moved in (to his 'Candy Shop Mansion') and when I turned 27 I wondered if [the relationship] was what I really wanted,' she admitted. 'I started thinking about my life and how long did I really want to do this for. Stuff like, 'if we did have kids would I be comfortable in that dynamic, forever?'.' This December marks three years since she farewelled the gaudy home and opulent estate in Helensvale for 'a new life'. 'Nothing hectic happened… in the end,' she said. 'I just felt being with one person would be a bit more intimate.' Still living on the Gold Coast, Nisha has traded in her string bikini for corporate attire - working as a development manager in the construction industry. Unearthed footage of her mansion 'audition' 11 years ago shows Downes, then 19, meeting Beynon and his wife for the first time, admitting she 'stalks' his social media pages and 'loves to party'. Later in the video, Ms Downes revealed that she was 'a bit obsessed' with the 47-year-old. She admits she sometimes got a bit jealous of other women in the house, including Mr Beynon's wife of a decade, Taesha. 'I respect that Taesha is Travers' wife and she respects that I'm his girlfriend,' she says. 'Looking at him, I'm like, it's so crazy to think that's my boyfriend. 'My mum was definitely concerned. She did call me and tell me she didn't want me to move in but I was just like, 'Well, you can come and see what it's all about, meet Trav and Taesha so you're more comfortable with it'. 'Then mum came up with her husband and mum's just obsessed with him, and she can see me now for months after living in Melbourne. 'I'm healthy and happy. I look better than I have before.' For more than a decade, Beynon's 'Candy Shop Mansion' has been the talk of the Gold Coast with its annual parties. Until the pandemic, he regularly hosted hundreds of guests at a time. There was the odd incident. In 2015, fireworks set off for his annual shindig sparked a brush fire across the canal, which was witnessed by a Daily Mail Australia reporter who attended the party. And in 2018, Beynon was slapped with a $13,000 council fine after complaints about a giant topless Virgin Mary statue. The flamboyant businessman certainly was not shy about sharing glimpses of his lavish lifestyle on social media with his millions of followers on social media - including stunt photos of naked women lying down covered in sushi. But Beynon has since stepped back from posting. He last shared a public update to Facebook back in April 2023, while his last TikTok post occurred in August 2019. It's apparently a similar story for the Beynon family tobacco empire, with the main FreeChoice Tobacco site also currently offline. While its franchise stores are still operating, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported that FreeChoice vacated its Gold Coast head office in February, with the space, owned by one of Beynon's companies, now leased to a new business. It comes amid what appears to be a period of upheaval for Beynon with the playboy recently having another crack at offloading his Candyland mansion. Beynon first listed the 14-bedroom canal-side property back in 2023 and, at one stage, it had an eye-watering $25million price tag attached. The Gold Coast Bulletin reported in May that Beynon had enlisted another agent to give the property the push it needs to get it over the line. He had engaged the services of agents Ivy Wu and Isaac Kim from Ivy Realty to run an expression of interest campaign for the lavish property. Travers originally purchased the home, located in the northern Gold Coast suburb of Helensvale, in 2010. He later snapped up neighbouring land, effectively tripling the footprint of the compound. The property sits on a substantial 1.4 acres with 175m of private water frontage. The house itself is set across an expansive 2,230 square-metre floorplan and boasts mosaic murals and hand-painted frescos.
