See what Leonardo DiCaprio's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood co-star Julia Butters looks like now at 16

Julia Butters, who shot to fame aged 10 in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, was spotted on this week's buzziest red carpet. In the 2019 Quentin Tarantino film, she featured as a plucky child actress called Trudi Fraser who works with Leonardo DiCaprio 's has-been Western star Rick Dalton. She made an unforgettable impression, earning a shower of nominations from outfits like the Critics' Choice Movie Awards and the Hollywood Film Critics Association. Hopping from one legendary director to another, Julia then landed a supporting role in Steven Spielberg 's semiautobiographical 2022 movie The Fabelmans. Now 16, Julia is part of the cast of the new Freaky Friday sequel Freakier Friday, and attended the film's glittering Los Angles premiere this Tuesday. She posed at the iconic El Capitan Theater amid a cavalcade of famous faces, including the motion picture's leads Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, who respectively play Julia's mother and grandmother. Julia comes from a showbiz family as the daughter of animator Darrin Butters, who has worked on films like Frozen, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph and Moana. She herself started acting in commercials as a little girl before making her TV series debut with a guest shot on Criminal Minds in 2014, the year she turned five. Her first feature film was the 2016 action extravaganza 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, directed by Michael Bay and starring John Krasinski. Julia's big break arrived shortly thereafter when Quentin Tarantino cast her in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood as a child actress on a TV Western. She has admitted that when she first showed up on set, she 'didn't know' who Quentin was and 'didn't know who anybody else was, either,' up to and including her globally recognized co-stars Leo, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. Her mother Lorelei had to explain to her that 'everyone here is famous,' Julia shared in a Vanity Fair interview around the time of the film's release. Audiences and critics alike were enchanted by her performance, as was Leo, who gushed publicly that Julia was like a young Meryl Streep. She joined her castmates on the awards show circuit and charmed fans by bringing a packed meal to the Oscars, which had a 70 percent plant-based dinner menu. She is pictured with her co-stars (from left) Manny Jacinto, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Sophia Hammons and Chad Michael Murray at the event In the sequel, Lindsay's character has a daughter and a stepdaughter-to-be, and the three of them - plus Jamie Lee's character - wind up in a four-way body swap 'I don't like some of the food here,' she remarked, by way of explaining the turkey sandwich she was carrying in her $2,495 Marzook purse. In the intervening years, her roles have included a character based on Steven Spielberg's sister Anne in the filmmaker's 2022 picture The Fabelmans. Her career continued apace with a voice role last year on the Monsters, Inc. spin-off show Monsters at Work - and now with her star turn in Freakier Friday. Freaky Friday, which came out in 2003, was based on a novel by Mary Rodgers, the daughter of The Sound of Music and Oklahoma! composer Richard Rodgers. Jamie Lee and Lindsay starred respectively as a mother and daughter who switch bodies, enabling them to develop a greater understanding of each other. In the sequel, Lindsay's character has a daughter and a stepdaughter-to-be, and the three of them - plus Jamie Lee's character - wind up in a four-way body swap.

Michael Madsen's cause of death shared as Reservoir Dogs star's death certificate released

Michael Madsen's official cause of death has been confirmed as his death certificate has been released. It was announced earlier this month that the Reservoir Dogs had died after he was found unresponsive at his home in Malibu on July 3. Madsen's manager, Ron Smith, said he died after suffering a cardiac arrest and authorities at the time didn't expect any foul play. Now, new details have come to light about Michael's condition at the time of his death. The death certificate, held by the LA County Medical Examiner, revealed that his cardiac arrest was caused by cardiomyopathy, coronary artery disease, and chronic alcoholism. It also notes thromboembolic disease, which causes blood clots, obstructing vessels or arteries. Despite alcoholism contributing, Michael had been sober for several months at the time of his death. He'd spent years in and out of rehab battling his condition, while also struggling with depression, as well as dealing with the aftermath of a broken marriage. At the time of his death, Smith said: "In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life. "Madsen was also preparing to release a new book called Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems. Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood's most iconic actors, who will be missed by many." Michael's son, Luke, who he shared with his ex-wife DeAnna, also shared a moving tribute to his late father, while also mentioning his late brother. Luke said: "Some people's heroes wear capes. And fly shooting lasers out of their eyes. Some people's heroes can fight off armies and overcome anything. "My hero wore a cowboy hat. My hero stood taller and stronger than any man I've ever met. My hero understood me better than anyone. My Hero is the coolest, most badass human being I know. Not only was my hero a famous tough guy movie star, my hero was my father, and he was a damn good one. Love you, Pops. I'll see you again someday. Tell Hudson I said hi." His actress sibling Virginia, 63, remembered her brother in a touching statement. She said in a statement to Variety: 'My brother Michael has left the stage. He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. "A poet disguised as an outlaw. A father, a son, a brother — etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark.' We're not mourning a public figure. We're not mourning a myth - but flesh and blood and ferocious heart. Who stormed through life loud, brilliant, and half on fire. Who leaves us echoes - gruff, brilliant, unrepeatable - half legend, half lullaby. "I'll miss our inside jokes, the sudden laughter, the sound of him. I'll miss the boy he was before the legend; I miss my big brother. Thank you to everyone reaching out with love and memory. In time, we'll share how we plan to celebrate his life - but for now, we stay close, and let the silence say what words can't." Hudson, Luke's older brother, sadly took his own life aged just 26 in 2022. The US actor carved out a reputation for his frequent collaborations with famed director Quentin Tarantino, featuring in cinematic hits such as The Hateful Eight, Kill Bill: Vol 1 and 2, and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Madsen's memorable portrayal of Mr Blonde in Reservoir Dogs saw him perform an infamous dance to Stealers Wheel's 1972 classic Stuck In The Middle With You, brandishing a razor in a notorious torture sequence. Boasting a career that spanned over four decades and included more than 300 titles, Madsen's impact on the film industry was significant, his publicist noted.

First look at Samuel L Jackson in Tulsa King spin-off

Nola King follows Jackson's character, Russell Lee Washington Jr, who is tasked with taking out Sylvester Stallone's Dwight Manfredi. Manfredi, or 'the General' is the main character of Tulsa King, a mafia boss who befriended Jackson's character years earlier while they were both in prison. A photo from the production shows the two characters sitting at a table that has a bottle of alcohol on it and a reserved sign. Stallone, 79, said: 'Chris McCarthy (co-chief executive of Paramount Global) came to me with a game-changing idea: to elevate my show beyond a mob boss series, creating a dynamic, family-driven franchise. 'I was immediately on board. Sam Jackson is the only choice to anchor this new adventure in Nola and (producer) David Glasser and 101 are the perfect partner to bring it to life.' Mr McCarthy said: 'Samuel L Jackson brings unparalleled presence and global appeal, making him the perfect choice to maximise the momentum of one of our biggest hits and transform it into a hit franchise. 'Building on the breakout success of Sylvester Stallone's Tulsa King, audiences will now experience the full force of Jackson's dynamic, layered performance, supercharging one of Paramount+'s flagship series.' David C Glasser, chief executive of entertainment company 101 Studios, said: 'Partnering with Paramount has been such a rich experience. (Creator) Taylor (Sheridan) had the brilliant idea to drop Sylvester Stallone in the middle of Tulsa and it has been everything we have wanted and more. It's official! 🔥 #TulsaKing Season 3 is in the works! 👊 — Tulsa King (@TulsaKing) March 18, 2025 'The success of this show has now led us to another icon. I cannot wait to see what Sam brings to this world.' Jackson, 76, has starred in films including Django (2012), The Hateful Eight (2015), Jurassic Park (1993) and The Avengers (2012). One of his most acclaimed roles was playing hitman Jules Winnfield in Quentin Tarantino's 1994 hit crime film Pulp Fiction. Tulsa King is a Paramount+ series that follows Stallone's character, Dwight 'the General' Manfredi, as he is sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to begin a new crime enterprise after being released from prison in New York. Jackson's character will be introduced in the third series of Tulsa King, to premiere in September. Stallone and Jackson were both executive producers on Nola King.
