Actress appears before Dispur cops
Guwahati: Assamese actress Nandinee Kashyap arrived at the Dispur police station on Monday to respond to summons in connection with an accident in which she allegedly hit a youth while driving, critically injuring him in city's Kahilipara area on Friday night. Multiple videos that surfaced online shortly after the incident show the actress fleeing the scene after the accident. Instead, she continued driving through the Kahilipara area and entered a nearby residential complex. The commuters, who saw the accident, followed her vehicle and managed to confront her. According to the police, Haque was an employee of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), who was on the spot to repair a damaged streetlight. Following the incident, Kashyap came to the police station on the same night and confessed to the crime. Kashyap while talking to the media on Monday said, "It was an accident, and I did not hit him intentionally. For the past three days, I've been regularly visiting the police station, and during times when I couldn't be present, my father and uncle have been there on my behalf. I haven't run away — I was the one who called the police. It was dark and there was a truck on the road, and that is when the accident happened." Haque is receiving treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, and has sustained injuries in his head, arms and legs.

WARMATE drones used in Myanmar attack: Ulfa & PLA
Guwahati: Two weeks after accusing the Indian Army of attacking its camps in Myanmar, Ulfa (I) and People's Liberation Army (PLA) of Manipur, in a joint statement on Monday, claimed that in the July 13 attacks, which killed three, high-end WARMATE loitering munitions laden with controversial 'thermobaric bombs (vacuum bombs)' were used. The Army officially denied any knowledge of such attacks. The two outfits on Monday strongly questioned this denial, pointing out that the wreckage from drones used in such operations could reveal the make of the drones and their operators. They said "according to the Vayu Aerospace Review (June 19, 2022)," India acquired the Poland-made WARMATE loitering munition and the "Indian Army even tested WARMATE in Kashmir, in the Ladakh region, in high mountain areas near the border with the People's Republic of China." "According to the local public, it was reported that UAVs were launched from Wangti and a place in between Nampong and Joyrampur. From our camps, so far, we have recovered five Type 3 WARMATE wreckages of Year 2022. Interestingly, India used WARMATE from the same batch against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor," the two outfits claimed. They added that to ensure that the people of the WESEA region (Western South East Asia) "never unite, India is keeping the people of WESEA divided along ethnic and religious lines, salting the old wounds, creating and funding pseudo-revolutionaries, hiring foreign mercenaries, and stalling leaders who want wealth and status by offering them power in exchange for loyalty to India." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cyprus investments might surprise you Cyprus Investments | Search Ads Get Info Undo WESEA is a geopolitical and cultural concept used particularly by some groups in northeast India to describe their northeastern region along with adjoining areas such as the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh and parts of western Myanmar. "…deceiving and dividing the people of the WESEA is, in fact, a good policy for India because India does not care about the people; India only cares about the resourceful land of ours. That is why India denied the drone attack against PLA and ULFA (I) on July 13, 2025," the joint statement said. Myanmar's leading media group, "The Irrawaddy," reported on July 18 that "A high-level Indian military delegation was in Naypitaw Wednesday," which met Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Myanmar's junta deputy leader, and discussed border security "in the wake of Sunday's drone attack by the Indian army on a separatist outfit near the border in Myanmar's Sagaing Region." Myanmar's "Mizzima" also reported about this. A source said the visit of the Indian delegation was a routine visit.
