Some of the cuts he suffered have been described as deep gashes.
He was admitted to Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma this evening.
His exact condition is not known but his condition when he left the scene was described as "serious."
The drama happened just after 5pm local time today opposite upmarket Nikki Beach in Magaluf.
The tourist and his pals, who were also described in local reports as "inebriated", had rented the boat hours earlier and spent most of the day at sea.
Lifeguards on the beach were the first to assist the injured man before Civil Guard officers, Civil Protection workers and paramedics reached the scene.
He was stabilised before being evacuated to hospital in one of the two ambulances sent to the scene.
Dozens of worried sunbathers watched on as he was taken away in an ambulance as he was taken away.
No-one could be reached at Son Espases this afternoon for comment.
There has not yet been an official comment from the Civil Guard in Majorca, which has launched an investigation into the incident.
Last weekend mum-of-four Debra Wright died after the jet ski she was riding pillion on was hit by a boat being piloted by a friend off Manilva west of Estepona on the Costa del Sol.
Her Greater Manchester-based husband Chris, 52, described her as an 'amazing woman' in a tribute. He also told how he cradled his dying wife in his arms.
The unnamed friend was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and an alcohol-related offence after failing a breath test.
He was released without charge pending an ongoing criminal probe after appearing in court in Estepona last Sunday a day after the tragedy.

Dad nearly sliced in half by hit-and-run boat in nightmare first day of family vacation in the Bahamas

A former Army Ranger was nearly sliced in half in a boat hit-and-run while on a family vacation to the Bahamas. Brent Slough, 42, faces a grueling recovery process after the incident on the first day of the trip with his wife, Whitney, and their two daughters, Layla and Emma. The Texas dad was snorkeling just 20ft from the shore when he was hit by the boat. 'I felt like a thump thump, and I was like, "Did I just get hit by a boat?"' Brent recalled to CBS News of the June 30 nightmare. 'My left leg wasn't functioning, and I felt like something was wrong with my lower body.' Still in shock, Brent said he turned around and saw two men speeding away on a boat. One of them allegedly looked back at the severely injured veteran, but they did not stop despite hearing his blood-curdling screams. Brent's family witnessed the ordeal from the beach, with his teenage daughter, Layla, having to rush into the sea and drag him to safety on a float. Whitney described his gut-wrenching condition, saying his 'bottom was almost completely detached from his legs.' He sustained multiple leg and pelvis fractures and a deep gash that was at high risk of infection. First responders were called and Brent spent the rest of the day battling for his life at two different Bahamas hospitals before being airlifted to a Miami ICU. 'The doctor told me, "please get to a hospital in Miami, you need to get to the U.S. for something this traumatic,"' Brent told CBS News. Leaving their daughters in the Bahamas, Brent and Whitney traveled to Florida to ensure he received sufficient care - an expense they had to pay out of pocket. He underwent a four-hour surgery, but Whitney said doctors were not able to stitch some of his wounds because they were too deep, so they have been packing them instead, WFAA reported. While Brent remains in the hospital, Whitney went back to the Bahamas to get her daughters and make sure the culprit - who is still at large - is held responsible. 'It's against the law to be within 200ft of the shore,' Whitney explained to the outlet. 'Brent was about 20ft out ... I just wish they would turn themselves in, but if they don't turn themselves in, then we have to find them.' Despite the heartbreak, Whitney said she is abundantly grateful her husband is still alive. A GoFundMe page, which has already raised more than $71,000, has been created on the Sloughs' behalf to cover Brent's mounting medical costs. 'His upcoming medical needs are great - but we know God will move to make this happen for the Slough family,' the page reads. Brent graduated from West Point and served six years in the military, including a tour in Iraq, according to WFAA.

Pamplona bull-runners are tossed around and trampled with at least six injured under the hooves of rampaging animals as famous Spanish festival gets underway

Six Pamplona bull-runners have been rushed to hospital with injuries after being trampled by the rampaging animals on the first day of the famous Running of the Bulls festival in northern Spain. Medics confirmed the casualty toll half an hour after runners risked their lives this morning putting themselves in front of six fighting bulls led by six steers as they sprinted along the half-mile run through the streets of Pamplona's old town. The famous festival in the northern Spanish town kicked off at midday yesterday with the traditional San Fermin opening ceremony called the Chupinazo. But two of the six fighting bulls became detached from the rest of the group shortly after ranchers let them out of their pens. The animals, from the Fuente Ymbro farm in Spain's south-west province of Cadiz, included one called Zalagarda which is the heaviest of this year's bull runs and weighs in at a whopping 610 kilos which is 96 stone. According to El Pais, five people suffered bruises and one suffered a leg injury, although it has not been specified whether it was the result of a goring. The nationalities of those hurt today is not yet known. All are thought to be men. During the festival, thousands of revellers dressed in the traditional white outfits with a red bandana around their necks ending up soaked in wine and sangria. A participant is hit by a young cow in the bullring after the first 'encierro' (bull-run) of the San Fermin festival in Pamplona, northern Spain, on July 7, 2025 Images showed onlookers lining the streets and cheering as the bulls trampled past among the runners. 'As usual, the straight stretch of this street was crowded with young men and a few young women, many of whom were run over, fell, and trampled by bulls and steers,' reported El Pais. This morning's 8am run, which lasted two minutes 37 seconds and ended with the animals being guided into pens after reaching the town's bull ring, was the first of eight so-called encierros which form the highlight of the festival. Last year, five runners were left injured on the seventh day of the festival. A 37-year-old man from Beriain near Pamplona suffered the only gore injury, said to have been to his palate. The other five casualties included a 54-year-old man from New York. All six runners who needed hospital treatment were males. And in 2023, six people were also left injured in the first race, none of them seriously, medics said at the time. Sixteen people have been killed during the bull runs at the annual festival, which finishes on July 14 and was made famous by 1926 Ernest Hemingway novel 'The Sun Also Rises', since records began in 1910. Six bulls are released at 8am every day to run from their corral to the bullring through the narrow streets of the old town while runners ahead of them try to stay close to the bulls without falling over or being gored The most recent death was in 2009 when 27-year-old Daniel Jimeno, from Madrid, was gored in the neck by a bull called Capuchino. Several foreigners, from Australians to Americans through to Brits and Irish, are normally among the injured. Between 200 and 300 people are usually left injured each year at the festival during the bull runs. The first of the eight encierros last year took place four hours after a San Fermin reveller collapsed and died. Police rushed to the scene and tried to save the 40-year-old man but were unable to resuscitate him. Animal rights activists campaign against the festival every year, saying it is cruel to animals who are goaded and then killed in front of baying crowds.
