Trump hosts Netanyahu, hopes for Gaza deal 'this week' - War on Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet Monday US President Donald Trump, who expressed hope for a "deal this week" between Israel and Hamas that sees captives released from the Gaza Strip. Indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas began on Sunday evening in Doha, aiming to broker a ceasefire and reach an agreement on the release of captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Trump said Sunday there was a "good chance" of reaching an agreement. "We've gotten a lot of the hostages out, but pertaining to the remaining hostages, quite a few of them will be coming out," he told journalists. Netanyahu, speaking before boarding his flight to Washington on Sunday, said his meeting with Trump could "definitely help advance this" deal. The US president is pushing for a truce in the Gaza Strip, plunged into a humanitarian crisis after nearly two years of war. Netanyahu said he dispatched the team to Doha with "clear instructions" to reach an agreement "under the conditions that we have agreed to." He previously said Hamas's response to a draft US-backed ceasefire proposal, conveyed through Qatari and Egyptian mediators, contained "unacceptable" demands. 'Important mission' Two Palestinian sources close to the discussions told AFP the proposal included a 60-day truce, during which Hamas would release 10 living captives and several bodies in exchange for Palestinians detained by Israel. However, they said, the group was also demanding certain conditions for Israel's withdrawal, guarantees against a resumption of fighting during negotiations, and the return of the UN-led aid distribution system. Netanyahu has an "important mission" in Washington, "advancing a deal to bring all our hostages home," said Israeli President Isaac Herzog after meeting him Sunday. Trump is not scheduled to meet the Israeli premier until 6:30 pm (2230 GMT) Monday, the White House said, without the usual presence of journalists. Of the 251 captives, 49 are still being held in Gaza, including 27 the Israeli military says are dead. Since the war started on October 2023, mediators have brokered two temporary halts in the fighting. They have seen captives freed in exchange for some of the thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli custody. Recent efforts to broker a new truce have repeatedly failed, with the primary point of contention being Israel's rejection of Hamas's demand for a lasting ceasefire. 'Enough blood' In Gaza, the territory's civil defense agency reported 26 people killed by Israeli forces on Sunday, 10 of them in a strike in Gaza City's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. "We are losing young people, families and children every day, and this must stop now," Sheikh Radwan resident Osama al-Hanawi told AFP. "Enough blood has been shed." The war has created dire humanitarian conditions for the more than two million people in the Gaza Strip. A US- and Israel-backed group, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), took the lead in food distribution in the territory in late May, when Israel partially lifted a more than two-month blockade on aid deliveries. But its operations have had a chaotic rollout, with repeated reports of aid seekers killed near its facilities while awaiting rations. UN agencies and major aid groups have refused to cooperate with the GHF over concerns it was designed to cater to Israeli military objectives. The UN human rights office said last week that more than 500 people have been killed waiting to access food from GHF distribution points. The Gaza health ministry on Sunday placed that toll even higher, at 751 killed. Israel's war has killed at least 57,418 people in Gaza, mostly women and children. BRICS Finance Ministers Agree to Promote Sustainable Financing Instruments

Yara Sameh At a meeting in Rio de Janeiro, the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the BRICS countries agreed on three joint declarations aimed at deepening economic cooperation and supporting reforms of the international financial system. This is reported by the official website of the Brazil's BRICS Presidency, according to TV BRICS. 'BRICS economies have become increasingly integrated into the global economy and now account for approximately one-quarter of global trade and investment flows. At the same time, member states acknowledge that further progress is needed to ensure that the benefits of globalisation, economic growth, and productivity are distributed more equitably among all peoples,' the document affirms. The heads of departments called on international financial organisations to support measures to adapt to climate change and create conditions for active business participation in this. To attract private investment, it is planned to use various sustainable financing instruments, including green bonds, loans in national currencies, and mixed financing mechanisms. At the same time, the BRICS countries intend to promote voluntary carbon markets. According to the statement, the "dozens" of countries advocate for transparency in the tax sphere and support a global dialogue on fair taxation to reduce inequality. "We pledge to continue proactive efforts to enhance social engagement within the BRICS process, deepen cooperation among expert communities and civil society across member states, and reinforce the People-to-People pillar within our economic and financial agenda," the document emphasises. Special attention at the meeting was paid to preparations for the 30th Conference of the Parties to the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Belem in November. The ministers called for the active participation of financial authorities in discussing a roadmap for attracting US$1.3 trillion in climate investments annually. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Deputy Chief of Staff of Russian Presidential Executive Office: BRICS Is Sriver of Global Economy

Nada Mustafa BRICS has everything necessary for sustainable economic growth and improving the well-being of the population – from resources and technologies to human capital. This was stated by Maksim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office, speaking at the BRICS Business Forum in Rio de Janeiro, according to TV BRICS. He added that BRICS is a global technology leader: dozens of companies operating in the countries are setting the direction for development in the fields of telecommunications, aerospace, digital technologies, logistics, and nuclear energy. "We are capable of promoting new financial, settlement and investment instruments, including for the development of human capital. By combining all these mechanisms, we can form a new sustainable platform for global growth. Our common task is to actively move forward on this path," said the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation. In an exclusive commentary for TV BRICS, Oreshkin emphasised that the BRICS summit reflects the spirit of the group – an association of states with different cultures and attitudes, which, despite their differences, come together for the sake of common progress. "From summit to summit, systematic work is being done, new initiatives are emerging, they are gaining momentum and are being translated into real decisions, into real cooperation between the BRICS countries and, in general, the countries of the Global South and East. This is very important because this is what is driving the global economy right now," he said. According to him, today the voice of BRICS is growing louder, and this interaction is gaining momentum every year. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
