There is that old question of exactly how Superman is able to hide the fact that he's also bumbling reporter Clark Kent with nothing more than a pair of eyeglasses. Well, a new clip from "Superman" explains exactly how the Man of Steel keeps his identity secret and, ironically, he isn't even in it.
New clip from James Gunn's 'SUPERMAN'
'I'm not saying who he is, just that he wears hypno-glasses, they make his face look different in your brain so you don't know who he is'

The clip, which you can watch above, features Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) hanging out with the Justice Gang and talking with Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner/Green Lantern. In it, Gardner explains not only how Superman keeps his secret identity, but reveals that he and the Justice Gang know that Superman is Clark Kent.

Gardner tells Lane, "I'm not saying who he is, just that he wears hypno-glasses ... they make his face look different in your brain so you don't know who he is."

When Lane says she knows about the hypno-glasses, Gardner says, "So you know he's Clark Kent."
So there you have it, the question is answered. Superman is able to hide his secret identity with nothing but a pair of glasses because those glasses aren't normal. They're "hypno-glasses" that change the way people see his face.
This begs the question of who created the glasses and whether they're a product of science fiction or some kind of magic, but in a world where super dogs wear capes and space cops wield magic rings, for now "hypno-glasses" should be answer enough.
The clip was shared during a guest appearance by Nathan Fillion on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" with actor Anthony Anderson subbing for Kimmel. Along with the "Superman" clip, Fillion shared that while he had not kept his bowl-cut wig from the film, that he had kept his Green Lantern ring.
That's actually good news because, after all, we know he'll be needing it at least two more times. Fillion is confirmed to reprise the role of Guy Gardner at least twice more: first in Season 2 of "Peacemaker" and later in the upcoming HBO Max series "Lanterns."
"Superman" releases in theaters on July 11. Tickets are on sale now. The film is written and directed by James Gunn. "Superman" stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced.

Curious Dog Insists on Being 'Involved' in Every Step of Couple's Renovation

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. An Instagram video showing a Siberian husky and Labrador retriever pup becoming the unofficial supervisor of his owners' home renovation project has melted hearts among social-media users. The heartwarming viral clip shared in January by 30-year-old homeowner from Ontario, Canada, Sabrina Pougnet, under the username @sabrinapougnet, shows the pup, Ackley, following the couple from room to room as they drill, paint, and assemble furniture for their new home. "POV [point of view]: you have a dog that needs to be involved in everything," reads layover text in the clip. A caption says: "Always in the way but he tries his best." Pougnet told Newsweek that they adopted the pup from a shelter in 2017 after being up for adoption twice before he found his forever home with them. "He is very attached to me, which is why he is a co-star in all of our videos. He isn't at all afraid of power tools, so we joke that he was a site supervisor in a past life," said Pougnet. "This video is compiled of just a few of the moments Ackley has demonstrated his site supervisor abilities—always on the job site but doesn't contribute much otherwise," she continued. Curiosity is not an uncommon trait in dogs. Most puppies are born with an innate curiosity that prompts them explore their surroundings and learn new things about the environment they live in. However, when they grow, their curiosity may become less prominent. Fruitville Veterinary Clinic says that every dog is different, and some are just not naturally curious. Puppies that are indeed curious, and are likely to remain so as they age, although they may not always necessarily act on it. The veterinary website adds that, when dogs reach about three years of age, their curiosity about new things starts to decline. This doesn't mean that they will stop being curious, but that they may not take it as seriously as they once did. One user, Prettyhonestshop, commented: "Hahaha looks in the camera like he's in an episode of [TV comedy] the office." Itsjoitomyworld posted: "He's making sure everything is up to code." Umifusion added: "My dog was like this. We called him the work site supervisor and he was great at his job." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share? Superman's an all-American hit again.

Superman's an all-American hit again. Director James Gunn's DCU reboot scored $122 million in the US this weekend, the best launch ever for a Superman solo pick, and the biggest comic opening since Deadpool & Wolverine . That's a strong start, but $95 million in the rest of the world is less impressive, suggesting the Man of Steel hasn't entirely shed the patriotic sheen that Trump tried to take advantage of. That probably hurts its hopes of joining the billion dollar club.
