'With profound sadness, we share this morning that Uche Ojeh, the husband of our friend and Today co-host Sheinelle Jones, has passed away after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma,' Savannah Guthrie said on the program. 'There are no words for the pain we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children. Uche was an incredible person. We all loved him. And so we want to take a moment to tell you more about the remarkable man who was Sheinelle's perfect partner in life.'
Ojeh was 45 years old, and leaves behind Jones and their three children. He had been a consultant with UAO Consulting for more than a decade. In a conversation on the program after announcing the heartbreaking news, Today co-anchor Craig Melvin shared that he last played golf with Ojeh last fall.
'We had a number of conversations about just life in general,' Melvin recalled. 'And one thing he always talked about, he talked about those kids. He loved those kids more than anything else in this world, and was just so proud. He was that dad that was on the sideline every soccer game. He was at all the concerts and the recitals. He was that guy.'
Jones has been on a leave of absence from the NBC morning show since December, and said in January that she was taking leave to deal with a family health matter.
Jones has been with the Today show for more than a decade, joining the morning program's weekend edition in 2014. She was named co-host of the show's third hour in 2019, where she worked alongside Dylan Dreyer, Craig Melvin and other talent from the program and NBC News.
Jones married Ojeh in 2007 after meeting at Northwestern University, where Jones was a freshman giving tours and Ojeh was a visiting high school senior. Ojeh proposed on the school's campus.

This seemingly harmless clue is a telltale sign your partner is cheating, private investigator says

When it comes to infidelity in relationships — cheating partners are getting sneakier and sneakier. Oftentimes, suspicious partners will look through a person's text messages, emails or other messaging systems to catch them in the act. In doing so, private investigator Paul Jones from ARF Private Investigators shared with The Sun specific clues to be on the lookout for. Advertisement Innocent-looking emojis can reveal if a partner is cheating. Getty Images/iStockphoto If you're tempted to sneakily read through your partner's conversations on messaging apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat — popular options for cheaters — random, innocent-looking emojis could be a dead giveaway that your partner isn't being faithful. If you come across messages specifically with the croissant or padlock emojis in them — you might be in for a rude awakening. Advertisement 'On the surface, it might look innocent, but there's usually a deeper meaning,' he told the outlet. 'We've had people using a croissant emoji as a way of saying 'meet me for breakfast', or the letter emoji as a subtle 'text me when you're free.'' Before you panic, an occasional use of these emojis might not mean much — but if the majority of messages include them, you most likely have a cheater on your hands. 'Used once or twice they don't mean much,' Jones told The Sun. Advertisement 'But when you see them appearing regularly in chats with the same person, especially late at night, they start to mean something more.' If something feels off — it's best to confront your significant other about your suspicions. 'On the surface, it might look innocent, but there's usually a deeper meaning,' Jones told the outlet. Getty Images/iStockphoto Getting cheated on is a devastating experience and psychotherapist and sex therapist of 45 years, Esther Perel, shared the one reason behind why many people do it. Advertisement While sometimes people stray from relationships because of… 'rejection, betrayal, disconnection, or alienation. Loneliness is a big one. Other times, the reasons are internal and have little to do with the relationship itself,' she told the Telegraph. But she believes the main reason behind infidelity is 'deadness' in a relationship — which is when a partner feels like the other person no longer cares about them. As a result, the person feeling this way will look elsewhere to feel 'alive' again. 'It means exploration, discovery, active engagement with the unknown, and being alive. It's a good entry point,' Perel said. To avoid this, Perel advises couples to show curiosity about one another and ask questions — even if you think you know your significant other well and have been with them for years. 'Do you know how many people go out with friends, see their partner talking about a movie or band or experience, and then in the car or on the train, they ask, 'Who is picking up Johnny tomorrow after school?' or 'Did you get the groceries?' From there, not wanting to have sex or feeling distant isn't far behind.' People's interests, needs and wants often change in a relationship, since people evolve and grow over time. As a result, Perel said to never stop exploring one another as individuals. 'It's about giving your partner the chance to see you and themselves in a new light,' she said.

Iowa football 2025 season positional preview: Offensive line

The offensive line at Iowa has been one of the most prestigious units throughout the 21st Century, in large part due to Kirk Ferentz and his appreciation for the trenches. Outside of the tight end room, the offensive line has been the position that Iowa has had the most success in when it comes to placing players into the NFL. From Robert Gallery to Riley Reiff to Brandon Scherff to Tristan Wirfs, and so many more along the way, the Hawkeyes are known for developing professional offensive linemen. And the 2025 group could provide a few more names to add to that list. It's been surprising to see the Iowa offensive line struggle over the past five years. The unit has had great individuals, but the overall line has been middling, to say the least. Part of that is due to terrible quarterback play, but you can't blame the signal caller for all of it. George Barnett took over as the offensive line coach in 2021 after Tim Polasek left. Polasek did great work with the line, and Barnett has struggled to find that consistency. However, this year's line could be the turning point. With proven veterans and intriguing young talent, the 2025 Iowa offensive line could be a game-changer. Let's take a deeper dive into the unit. Who's projected to start on the offensive line in 2025? Starters from left to right: Jack Dotzler, Beau Stephens, Logan Jones, Kade Pieper, Gennings Dunker This is the starting line from the spring and will probably be how the line shakes out when the Hawkeyes take the field for the season opener. Jones, Dunker, Stephens, and Pieper are no-brainers to start. The biggest question with the line is at the left tackle position, where I have Jack Dotzler starting. Let's take a deeper look at each member of my projected starting line. Who's projected to back up the starters on the offensive line? Projected backup line from left to right: Trevor Lauck, Leighton Jones, Cael Winter, Michael Myslinski, Cannon Leonard The projected backups for the Iowa offensive line are younger guys with high upside. While they might not get to play much in 2025, barring injury, getting to learn and play behind greats like Jones and Dunker will help their development immensely. Let's take a look at the players who could very well make up the future of Iowa's offensive line. Final thoughts on the offensive line in 2025 Iowa's offensive line has some experienced veterans in Jones, Dunker, and Stephens, as well as some younger guys who could jump in and contribute immediately. The big question will be what Iowa gets from the left tackle position. If Dotzler is good, this offensive line could have a fantastic season. If the left tackle spot is a question mark all season, things could get iffy. Hawkeye fans will get their first look at the offensive line in action when Iowa hosts Albany on August 30. A lot more questions will be answered when they travel to face Iowa State the following week in the Cy-Hawk game. Jones' first year in Denver was a solid one, starting and playing in 15 games with 34 total tackles (22 solo, 12 assisted and three tackles for loss), 2.0 sacks and setting a career-high in pass deflections (6). Jones will be a constant on the defensive line. as he tries to live up to the faith the Denver front office has put in him.
