Kaizer Chiefs eye Siphesihle Ndlovu: SuperSport responds

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly set their sights on SuperSport United midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu, but the club has moved swiftly to secure his immediate future amidst growing transfer rumours.
Ndlovu, who rose to prominence as the PSL Young Player of the Season, initially made headlines when he joined Orlando Pirates in 2019 from Maritzburg United. Over the course of three seasons in Soweto, the energetic midfielder averaged 22 appearances per campaign under various coaches before being loaned out to SuperSport United following the arrival of Jose Riveiro.
The 2022/2023 season saw Ndlovu cement his place in SuperSport's midfield, prompting the club to sign him on a permanent deal. Despite the team's struggles last season, narrowly avoiding relegation on the final day, Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly shown strong interest in bringing the 26-year-old to Naturena.
With his initial two-year deal from 2023 nearing its end in June, speculation arose that he could leave on a free. However, Ndlovu's agent Jazzman Mahlakgane has confirmed that SuperSport have exercised the one-year extension clause in his contract.
'They (SuperSport) have actually taken the option, they have exercised it last week. One year,' Mahlakgane said.
Asked whether any formal interest had come from other clubs. Mahlakgane remained coy, citing ongoing uncertainty around SuperSport United's future ownership.
'Not that I know of, because of this thing that SuperSport may be gone or may be around. So, I'm waiting to hear from SuperSport (on the club's future),' he explained.
With the squad expected to return for pre-season training this weekend. Ndlovu's next steps could become clearer as SuperSport management prepares to address internal matters.
Can Kaizer Chiefs lure Ndlovu despite extension?

Why Kaizer Chiefs will be a different team next season

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi feels his former club will be a different team next season. Amakhosi have finished outside the top 8 in back-to-back seasons for the first time in PSL history. Under Nasredine Nabi, the club has not shown much improvement; however, they ended their 10-year trophyless run when they won the Nedbank Cup. 'Chiefs went to Turkey last season and they did well in the early stages of the league. Remember there was a reshuffling of the technical team after the first assistant left and then they had to bring in another one,' Tsotetsi told Soccer Laduma . 'Going to Netherlands now, it will be good for them because they are going to be preparing against teams that will give them a challenge to prepare for the league. In Netherlands, they are usually good tactically, so I think it can help Chiefs in establishing a good structure in their line-up. I think they will come back a different team. They will come back a better team.' Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with five players but are yet to confirm any new signings. The likes of Ranga Chivaviro and Edmilson Dove are amongst the departed players meaning the Soweto giants might be eyeing to sign a few foreign players. 'Overpriced' Springbok tickets blamed for 'empty' DHL Stadium

The South African national rugby team played its first game, which it won 54- 7, against the British squad. It marks the first of many scheduled games to be played on home soil. For many, the 'overpriced' tickets on sale were to blame for the disappointing scenes. TikTok user @ninajanecarterr posted: 'They rugby brings the nation together, but half the nation couldnt even afford to be there.' A second – @coachdullah – posted: 'When playing home matches, SARU should consider the average South African budget. Yes, the Springboks are world champs, but don't make it unaffordable?' A third @ added: 'These prices are outrageous. There are so many who want to go, but simply can't afford to'. @ninajanecarterr all these empty seats and for WHAAATT 🙂 hoping this was a rude awakening for whoever decided on the prices of those tickets?! #springboks #barbarians ♬ original sound – Daiy Abrahams TDM Other Springbok fans excitedly revealed how they managed to scoop high-end tickets for a fraction of the price on match day. TikTok user @drinkandderive0 posted: 'Got them 2 hours before the game! They were greedy with the initial price'. @drinkandderive0 got them 2 hours before the game too. They were greedy with that initial price springboks #saru #barbarians #dhlstadium ♬ Jet2 Advert – ✈️A7-BBH | MAN 🇬🇧 It's not the first time Springbok fans have complained about the price of test match tickets at the DHL Stadium. Kaizer Chiefs news: Number 10 race and Khanye's big opinion

The Betway Premiership's upcoming season will feature a new attacking midfielder from Kaizer Chiefs, Ethan Chislett. According to several leading reporters, including FARPost 's Mthokozisi Dube and Lorenz Kohler at iDiski Times , the 26-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a two-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs, after he declined to renew his deal with Port Vale FC in the English League One division. Kaizer Chiefs supporters should be glad to know that Chislett is a high-scoring midfielder who has scored 40 goals in English football. According to Chislett's agent, Mike Makaab, the Durban-born player was a target for Gauteng giants Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns before Amakhosi won the race… Full story here. According to the popular YouTube pundit Khanye, instead of Ethen Chislett, Sipho Mbule should have been the midfielder going to Kaizer Chiefs. 'I see the guy, and if I'm not mistaken, I think he was playing in the second or third division wherever he is coming from,' Khaye said to Soccer Laduma . 'In terms of South African football, it's more of a Vodacom (ABC Motsepe) League where he is coming from, I have been told… Full story here.
