Pokémon superfan collects 1,200 Gengar items
Hong Kong man Tsang Cheuk Tip earned a Guinness World Record for his collection of Gengar memorabilia from the Pokémon franchise. Photo courtesy of Guinness World Records July 21 (UPI) -- A Hong Kong man's 22-year devotion to his favorite Pokémon earned him a Guinness World Records title for the largest collection of Gengar memorabilia. Tsang Cheuk Tip, 32, said his love for Gengar started when he was only 8 years old and was introduced to Pokémon. "Among a batch of Pokémon figures my mom bought, there was this translucent, deep purple one that just grabbed me," Tip told Guinness World Records. "Later, playing Pokémon games, I found Gengar wasn't just strong -- it was versatile, with that sly, adorable grin. Right then, I knew this little guy was my destined buddy." Tip started collecting officially licensed Gengar memorabilia, including cards, clothing items, plush toys, tableware and stationary. Tip said cataloging his items for his application to hold the record for the largest collection of Gengar memorabilia was an exhaustive process. "Some Gengars look nearly identical, so I had to write descriptions clear enough for someone to pick out the exact piece just by reading," he said. Tip said he is proud to be able to say he now holds the record. "I didn't go for the record to be famous. I just want people to think of me when they see Gengar," he said. "Where I am, Gengar's there too."

Nicholas Bailey to return for 'EastEnders' wedding
Nicholas Bailey will once again portray Anthony Trueman on "EastEnders." Photo courtesy of BBC July 21 (UPI) -- Nicholas Bailey is returning to the British soap opera EastEnders. The actor, 54, will reprise his role as Anthony Trueman after more than a decade away from the show. "Back in 2014, Anthony rushed to his father's side when Patrick (Rudolph Walker) suffered a stroke," an official synopsis reads. "Since then, Anthony has led a life away from Walford but when an invite to his father's impending nuptials reaches him, Anthony decides to return for the occasion." But his trip lasts longer than expects, the description continues. "It's great to welcome Nicholas back to the EastEnders family to reunite Patrick with his son," said executive producer Ben Wadey in a statement. "But Anthony's plan for a brief return to surprise his father ends up with him staying longer than he expected when he uncovers what has been going on in the Trueman household." EastEnders celebrated its 40th anniversary earlier this year.

Watch: Blackpink's 'Jump' music video inspired by the group's 'fervor'
Blackpink shared the behind-scenes-footage from their most recent music video on Monday. File Photo by John Angelillo/UPI | License Photo July 21 (UPI) -- South Korean girl group Blackpink is giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the making of the music video for "Jump," their first single of 2025. An approximately 8-minute video shows K-pop stars Lisa, Rose, Jennie and Jisoo as they run through a city street and dance while suspended in the air, before a green screen. "There are a lot of green screens here. It's a lot of post," says director Dave Meyers in the featurette. "Sometimes the post allows you to keep up with the pace of the song." "Some of these setups were inspired by the fervor of Blackpink coming back together," he added. "You know, it's exciting and the fans are gonna freak out and that's because they've got Blackpink on the mind, because they're back. It's very exciting to have them all together. It's an exciting moment." The "Jump" music video, released earlier this month, shows the pop stars appear on billboards, and the song overtakes the entire city as everyone begins dancing. Blackpink, currently on their Deadline tour through January, released their album Born Pink in 2022. Separately, the singers have released solo projects.
