In a written reply, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said there has also been a sharp decline in Left Wing Extremists-affected districts from 126 in 2013 to 18 districts in April 2025.

He said to encourage Left Wing Extremists to join the mainstream, states have their own "Surrender cum Rehabilitation" policies.
The Centre also support the states in the endeavour through 'Surrender-cum-Rehabilitation Policy' and reimburses the expenditure incurred by the LWE-affected states on rehabilitation of surrendered cadres.
The rehabilitation package includes an immediate grant of ₹5 lakh for higher-ranked LWE cadres and ₹2.5 lakh for other LWE cadres, he said.
The Minister said that in addition, the scheme also provides for incentives for surrender of weapons and ammunition besides imparting training in trade/vocation of their liking with a monthly stipend of Rs. 10,000 for three years.
"The resolute implementation of the policy has resulted in a consistent decline in violence and the constriction of geographical spread. The LWE-related violence incidents and resultant deaths of civilians and security forces, have come down from 2010 by 81% and 85% respectively in 2024," he said.
On a question related to Jharkhand, he said there has been considerable improvement in the LWE scenario, with the number of LWE perpetrated violent incidents in Jharkhand reducing by 92 per cent from a high of 742 incidents in 2009 to 69 incidents in 2024.
"From 1st January, 2024 to 15th July, 2025, 103 LWE-related violent incidents were reported in Jharkhand in which 25 LWE cadres were neutralised, 276 were arrested and 32 surrendered," he said.
The LWE-affected districts in Jharkhand have also reduced from 21 in 2013 to only two in 2025, he said.
"However, seven districts are categorised as Legacy and Thrust Districts, for continued support to the districts taken out of LWE influence," he said.

In 2020, some of the artifacts were displayed at Chennai Book Fair, but today, some were politicising Keeladi for gaining political mileage, he further said.

The IndiaAI mission, which prioritises accountability, safety, equity, and the defence of privacy and human rights, is at the core of India's AI strategy. According to the statement, one of the main highlights is the creation of native Large and Small Language Models using Indian datasets. Currently, startups such as Sarvam AI, Soket AI, Gnani AI, and Gan AI are developing foundational models that are suited to the linguistic and cultural diversity of India. According to the statement, these models will be open-source, allowing other startups to create locally tailored applications. According to Minister Vaishnaw, to support scalable innovation, the government is also enhancing AI compute capacity by ensuring GPU infrastructure access and expanding the AIKosh Datasets Platform, which currently hosts over 1,000 datasets and 208 AI models, including Text-to-Speech tools in Indian languages. 4,557 EV public charging stations installed on highways and expressways: Nitin Gadkari
A total of 4,557 electric vehicle (EV) public charging stations (PCSs) have been installed across a length of 146,342 km on the state, National Highways, and Expressways in the country, the Parliament was informed on Wednesday. Uttar Pradesh leads with 507 public EV charging stations, followed by Karnataka at 489, Maharashtra at 459, Tamil Nadu at 456 and Rajasthan at 424, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha. "As per information available with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), a total of 4,557 EV Public Charging Stations (PCSs) have been installed on the state/National Highways/expressways in the country," he said. The minister further stated that there is no scheme for providing incentives to the Charging Point Operators (CPOs). Meanwhile, 4,625 EV charging stations are currently operational in tier 2 cities in the country (as on April 1, 2025). The government recently said that with a financial outlay of Rs 2,000 crore, the PM E-Drive scheme will support the installation of approximately 72,000 EV public charging stations across the country. These stations will be strategically deployed along 50 National Highway corridors, within high-traffic destinations such as metro cities, toll plazas, railway stations, airports, fuel outlets, and state highways, the Ministry of Heavy Industries had said in a statement. The PM E-DRIVE scheme was launched in October 2024 to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) through demand incentives and expand EV charging infrastructure nationwide. The Centre has allocated Rs 10,900 crore for subsidies to EVs under this scheme. The Centre has also allocated Rs 873.50 crore towards the installation of 8,932 Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations (EVPCS) by the three oil marketing companies (OMCs), namely IOCL, BPCL and HPCL, under the FAME-II Scheme . Earlier this month, the government launched a groundbreaking scheme to provide financial incentives for electric trucks (e-trucks) under the PM E-DRIVE initiative, with the maximum incentive set at Rs 9.6 lakh per vehicle.
