Citroen C3 now available with brand-authorised CNG retrofitment option
The CNG kit offers dual fuel flexibility with claimed mileage of up to 28.1 km/kg, aiming to reduce both tailpipe emissions and running costs. The vehicle allows switching between petrol and CNG, and Citroën claims a running cost of ₹2.66 per kilometre using CNG.
The retrofitment is compatible with 1.2 NA variants of the C3, including Live, Feel, Feel(O), and Shine. The system includes factory-calibrated fuel management, redesigned rear suspension components, and integration of the CNG nozzle within the petrol filler port.
The company will offer a 3-year/100,000 km warranty on the vehicle along with coverage for CNG components.
Focus on fleet operators and growing CNG ecosystem
The CNG-enabled C3 targets institutional and high-usage customers. The retrofitment process will follow certified protocols and include safety inspections such as leak detection and cylinder checks. The move comes as India's CNG infrastructure expands, with over 7,400 stations expected by FY25.
Shishir Mishra, Business Head and Director – Strategic Partnerships & Institutional Business, Stellantis India, said, 'The CNG-enabled C3 is a strategic step forward for institutional customers, especially fleet operators, ride-share drivers, and last-mile mobility providers who value operational savings without compromising on quality and reliability.'

O-1 Visa For US: Application Process And Why It Is Gaining Traction Among Indians
O-1 Visa For US: The O-1 visa is gaining significant popularity among Indian professionals seeking job opportunities in the United States. This specialised non-immigrant visa is intended for individuals with "extraordinary ability" in fields such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), the arts, education, business, athletics, or the film and television industry. Often seen as an alternative to the H-1B visa, the O-1 visa is praised for its high approval rates-though it does come with some backlogs. How Does the O-1 Visa Work? The O-1 visa permits entry to individuals who have demonstrated a high level of achievement in their field, either in STEM or in the motion picture and television industry. Applicants must be recognized nationally or internationally for their accomplishments. To apply for the O-1 visa, a U.S. employer, U.S. agent, or a foreign employer through a U.S. agent must file Form I-129 on the individual's behalf. Visa holders can stay in the U.S. for up to three years, with extensions possible if more time is required to complete the initial event or project. While the application cost for an O-1 visa is higher, it boasts a success rate of over 90 per cent, significantly better than the H-1B. Applicants in STEM fields must apply using Form O-1A, while those in the film or TV industry must use Form O-1B. O-1 Visa Gaining Popularity Among Indian Professionals According to data from the U.S. Department of State, O-1 visa issuances rose from 8,838 in FY2020 to 18,994 in FY2023. Indian nationals have played a major role in this surge. In 2023, Indians ranked as the third-largest group of O-1 recipients, with 1,418 approvals-trailing only the United Kingdom and Brazil. While 225,957 H-1B visas were approved in FY2024 compared to 22,669 O-1 approvals, the H-1B visa has recently shown signs of decline. Meanwhile, O-1 approvals are steadily rising as more professionals explore this promising alternative.

240 diesel-buses to be fuelled by CNG, MTC puts pedal to metal to save cost
CHENNAI: Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) will convert 240 of its diesel-run buses into compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles as part of the transport department's initiative to convert 1,000 buses into CNG vehicles. Of these, 120 will be assigned to the Ambattur depot, while the remaining are designated for the upcoming Varatharajapuram depot near Mudichur along Outer Ring Road, which is yet to be constructed. Both depots will operate exclusively with CNG-powered buses. To support this transition, MTC has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two city gas distribution companies -- Think Gas and Torrent Gas. Think Gas will develop the necessary CNG infrastructure at the Varatharajapuram depot, while Torrent Gas will handle CNG supply at the Ambattur depot. Each company is also responsible for establishing refuelling facilities within the respective depots. T Prabhushankar, Managing Director of MTC, told TNIE that under the MoUs, the price of CNG will be fixed at a 6% discount on the diesel landing cost. 'For example, if diesel is priced at Rs 90.65 per litre, the corresponding landing cost would be Rs 85.20. This figure will serve as the base rate for purchasing CNG for the first six years of the 15-year agreement. As a result, MTC will be able to procure CNG at a rate lower than the retail market price,' he explained. The CNG refuelling stations will include two segments: one exclusively for MTC's use and the other as a retail station for highway and road users. MTC will earn rental income from leasing land to the gas suppliers. Tenders for the construction of the Varatharajapuram depot are expected to be issued soon, Prabhushankar added.
