Jurassic World Rebirth X reviews: Great VFX couldn't save the forgettable story; ‘decent at best'
Netizens love to hate the film
Online reactions to Jurassic World Rebirth have been mixed, with many pointing out the film's visual highs and narrative lows.'#JurassicWorldRebirth didn't really do it for me. Despite great cinematography and a solid musical score, it can't overcome being a World movie and not a Park movie. It's boring, repetitive, and the same old stuff we have seen. And the family subplot is a massive oof. 6/10,' one X user wrote. Another added, '#JurassicWorldRebirth IS A LOT… of the same. Gareth Edwards brings the most STUNNING technical quality to this franchise with a story and characters just as thin as before. While it doesn't reach the lows of recent installments… it doesn't do nearly enough to separate itself.'
One more commented, 'Jurassic World Rebirth review: a really forgettable Jurassic movie. They throw 2 plots together that don't really mesh well. The dino action is fine but nothing we haven't seen already. I appreciate the simplicity of the mission but it could've been executed better 5 out of 10.' And another critical voice said,'Man I really wanted to come out of #JurassicWorldRebirth loving it but that was not the case and I hate to say it. The actual good scenes in the movie were already shown in the commercials, terrible pacing bad jokes, original score was misused. Overall decent at best.'
But for longtime fans of the series, it's not all bad news. Several fans embraced the film's nostalgic feel so if you love the world and just want to go see some dinosaurs run around on a big screen, this movie should be a part of your weekend plans. '#JurassicWorldRebirth was more or less what I expected. While having no real surprises, it was nice to go back to basics. It's essentially a better JP3. And as expected, Edwards delivers thoughtful set pieces. Liked the characters more than I thought I would too,' said one comment. Another enthusiastic review read, '#JurassicWorldRebirth is a cinematic resurrection. With jaw-dropping visuals, pulse-pounding suspense, and a deep respect for Spielberg's original, it roars back with prehistoric power. Gareth Edwards delivers awe, terror, and wonder in equal measure, reminding us why we fell in love with dinosaurs in the first place. This is the franchise reborn — and it's alive in every sense of the word.'
About the movie
The seventh instalment of the Jurassic Park franchise, Rebirth is a reset. With no returning characters and a standalone storyline, the film introduces a brand-new trio: Johansson as covert ops expert Zora Bennett, Bailey as idealistic palaeontologist Henry Loomis, and Mahershala Ali as sea captain Duncan Kincaid. Director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One) steps in, while David Koepp returns as screenwriter after penning the first two Jurassic Park films.
Set after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), dinosaurs have all but vanished, except for a few surviving species hidden on the Caribbean island of Île Saint Hubert. A biotech company dispatches a team to retrieve DNA samples, but their mission turns chaotic when they encounter not only wild prehistoric predators but also a dangerous new hybrid: the Distortus Rex.

Metro In Dino box office collection Day 6: Anurag Basu's film surpasses Kangana Ranaut's Emergency, earns Rs 24.44 crore amid Jurassic World Rebirth clash
Despite a lukewarm opening at the box office, Anurag Basu's Metro… In Dino is holding. The film, which boasts an ensemble cast including Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and Ali Fazal, raked in Rs 2.19 crore on Wednesday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 24.44 crore within six days of release. The multi-starrer began its box office journey by raking in Rs 3 crore on Friday. Over the weekend, the film saw a 71 percent increase in collections as it earned Rs 6 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.25 crore on Sunday. However, come Monday, the film's earnings dropped by over 65 percent, minting Rs 2.5 crore. Since then, the film has maintained similar momentum, earning Rs 3 crore on Tuesday and Rs 2.19 crore on Wednesday. Metro… In Dino had an overall 14.59% Hindi occupancy, with the highest footfall of 18.61 percent recorded during night shows. This was followed by 16.33 percent occupancy in the evening shows and 15.06 percent in the afternoon shows. Anurag Basu's film has managed to woo urban audiences with positive word-of-mouth and favourable reviews from critics. The film has held its own despite stiff competition from big-ticket Hollywood releases like Jurassic World Rebirth and F1: The Movie. Jurassic World Rebirth, which released on the same day as Metro… In Dino, has collected Rs 50.95 crore in six days — more than double Metro… In Dino's Rs 24.44 crore. Brad Pitt's F1, currently in its second week at the Indian box office, has already earned Rs 58.38 crore. Not just the two Hollywood films, Metro… In Dino is also facing competition from Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, which is still going strong in its third week. On its 20th day, the film minted Rs 1.25 crore and has amassed a total of Rs 153.25 crore in the domestic market to date. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also pointed out how Metro… In Dino's weekend performance was impacted by these blockbuster films. However, he emphasised that the film needs to perform better during the weekdays to maintain a solid box office run. He wrote, '#MetroInDino shows encouraging trends over the weekend, clearly indicating that its target audience — urban centres — has responded positively to the film… However, the weekend total remains on the lower side.' He added, 'All eyes are now on the weekday trends – #MetroInDino needs to hold steady at Friday levels [or thereabouts] to register a healthy total.' Despite all the odds, Metro… In Dino has managed to surpass the total lifetime collection of Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency, which made Rs 23.75 crore during its box office run. Metro… In Dino has already minted Rs 24.44 crore. The film has also surpassed John Abraham's The Diplomat, which made Rs 17.75 crore within six days of release. In comparison, Metro… In Dino has pulled ahead by collecting Rs 24.44 crore in the same timeframe.

Jurassic World Rebirth box office collection day 6: Scarlett Johansson's blockbuster hits Rs 50 cr mark in India, earns more than double of Metro In Dino
Dinosaurs continue to dominate the Indian box office. Gareth Edwards' sci-fi action adventure thriller Jurassic World Rebirth has now crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India, which is more than twice of the Bollywood film it released with last Friday on July 4 — Anurag Basu's musical romance Metro… In Dino. Jurassic World Rebirth added another Rs 3.25 crore to its Indian box office collection on Wednesday. While this marked the lowest single-day earnings of the Hollywood movie in India so far, it allowed the film to collect Rs 50.95 crore, as compared to Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan-Metro… In Dino, which has collected less than half of that, Rs 24.4 crore. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the lion's share in the total domestic box office collection of Jurassic World Rebirth comes from the native English version. However, on Tuesday, when the film earned Rs 4.5 crore across all four languages, the Hindi dubbed version (Rs 2.05 crore) surpassed the English one (Rs 1.85 crore) for the first time in its five-day run. The Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions followed, respectively. The language-vise distribution of the Wednesday earnings hasn't been ascertained yet, but it'd be interesting to observe whether the Hindi dubbed version has edged past the native English one yet again. Jurassic World Rebirth became the first Hollywood film to have a Hindi premiere last week at Raj Mandir, Jaipur on Thursday, July 3. Interestingly, the first instalment of the massive seven-part Jurassic franchise, Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park (1993), was one of the first-ever Hollywood films to be dubbed in Hindi. Jurassic Park's monstrous success spewed a franchise which included: The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park III (2001), Jurassic World (2015), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), Jurassic World Dominion (2022), and most recently, Jurassic World Rebirth. Scarlett Johansson has taken over the lead actor duties in the Jurassic franchise from her Marvel co-star Chris Pratt. After a record-breaking opening weekend at the global box office at $318 million, Jurassic World Rebirth allowed Johansson to become the highest grossing lead actor in Hollywood history, beating fellow MCU stars Pratt, Robert Downey Jr, and Samuel L Jackson, along with Tom Hanks. Starting this Friday, July 11, Jurassic World Rebirth will face fresh competition at the Indian box office, from Pulkit's gangster film Maalik, starring Rajkummar Rao, in the Hindi market, but mainly from James Gunn's superhero reboot Superman, starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. Also Read: This female star beat Robert Downey Jr, Tom Hanks to become Hollywood's highest grossing lead actor, boasts of lifetime box office gross of $14.8 billion Co-produced by Universal Pictures and Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, Jurassic World Rebirth also stars Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey. The film, set in 2027, revolves around a group of adventurous junkies visit a far-away island to retrieve biomaterial samples from three rare dinosaur breeds to come up with a new heart disease treatment.

Jurassic World: Rebirth box office collection Day 6: Scarlett Johansson starrer crosses Rs 50 crore mark in India
Jurassic World: Rebirth has officially stomped its way past the Rs 50 crore milestone at the Indian box office, cementing its position as one of the biggest Hollywood hits of the summer. The Scarlett Johansson-led dinosaur actioner earned an estimated Rs 3.17 crore on Day 6 (Wednesday), bringing its total India net collection to Rs 50.87 crore. Despite a 29.56% dip in collections from Tuesday, the film continued to draw audiences and remained a top choice at multiplexes nationwide. Its India gross now stands at an impressive Rs 57.25 crore. The Gareth Edwards-directed sequel has outperformed most Hollywood titles released in India this year, becoming only the third summer import to cross Rs 50 crore after Tom Cruise 's Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning which earned Rs 67.51 crore and Brad Pitt 's motorsport drama F1 which netted Rs 58.33 crore. July is shaping up to be a strong month for English-language films at the Indian box office. According to Sacnilk, 17 Hollywood releases have collectively grossed over Rs 110 crore in India so far this month—with Jurassic World: Rebirth and F1 contributing the lion's share of that total. The competition is about to heat up even more, as a fresh wave of English releases prepares to hit theatres. James Gunn 's Superman, Marvel's Fantastic Four, and the animated crowd-pleaser The Smurfs are all set to roll out in the coming weeks. However, Jurassic World: Rebirth has already carved out a solid lead and established itself as a box office heavyweight in the current lineup. With one day left before the end of its first week, the film's upward trajectory suggests that Rebirth could challenge even higher box office benchmarks—perhaps even joining the Rs 75 crore club if strong weekend numbers hold. As of now, the dinosaurs are still ruling the Indian box office.
