"The southern states have been fighting against Hindi for a long time. They don't speak Hindi. Our stand is different. We have not stopped people from speaking in Hindi, or Hindi films and newspapers. We are only against the imposition of Hindi in primary schools," Raut told reporters.
Responding to CM Devendra Fadnavis's jibe referring to Sena (UBT) chief

as rudaali (weeper) who kept complaining about how deputy CM Eknath Shinde brought down the MVA govt, Raut said, "Fadnavis was scared by the success of the rally. In fact, Fadnavis and Shinde should participate in a rudaali competition and we should organise it."

He also criticised Shinde for raising the Jai Gujarat slogan at an event last week in the presence of Union home minister Amit Shah, saying he had forgotten Marathi snacks like kaanda poha and batata vada.

The people of Tamil Nadu are keen to know whether it is a BJP-led alliance or an AIADMK-led one,' he said. When asked whether actor Vijay's political entry would affect the DMK alliance, Mr. Thirumavalavan replied, 'Success in cinema does not guarantee success in politics. We cannot assume everyone who wins in cinema will win in electoral politics.'

Another, to be introduced next year, will recognise excellence in social, political, national, and administrative services. Union Minister Gadkari says World War could ‘break out anytime', flays superpowers' authoritarianism
Coordination, harmony and love are vanishing due to the authoritarianism and dictatorship of superpowers and there is an atmosphere of conflict across the world, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Sunday (July 6, 2025) while citing the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Iran wars. Hailing India as the land of the Buddha giving the message of truth, non-violence and peace to the world, Mr. Gadkari emphasised the need to ascertain future policy after reviewing and deliberating on international happenings underway. Speaking at the launch of the book Beyond Borders in Nagpur, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways said these conflicts are creating a situation where World War could break out "anytime". The technological advancements pertaining to war were also making it tougher to protect humanity, he asserted. "There is an atmosphere of conflict going on across the world amid the war between Israel and Iran as well as Russia and Ukraine. The situation is such that there is possibility of a World War taking place anytime in the backdrop of these two ongoing wars," Mr. Gadkari said. Mr. Gadkari said warfare dimensions have changed due to advanced technology, with increasing use of missiles and drones, which was reducing the relevance of tanks and other kind of aircraft. "Amid all this, it has become difficult to protect humanity. Often, missiles are fired on civilian settlements. This has created a serious pro`blem and there is need to discuss all these issues at a global level," the senior BJP leader said. "It won't be right to say so but (fact is) all this is slowly leading to destruction. Authoritarianism and dictatorship (adhikarwadi-hukumshahi) of the superpowers is making coordination, harmony and love vanish," he opined.
