Samsung Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic promo images leak
Now, these two watches have been leaked in a couple of official-looking promo images. As you can see, they confirm the oft-rumored switch to a squircle case design for both the Watch8 and Watch8 Classic, getting them in line with what the Galaxy Watch Ultra started last year. As with the Ultra, the screens are still circular, despite the case shape.

The Galaxy Watch8 Classic does in fact seem to have a rotating bezel, just as the name would have you believe. The bezel is raised and features grooves for better maneuverability, as you can see. The Watch8 has two buttons on the right side, which is the only one we can see, while the Classic model has a third one in between.
According to previous rumors, the Watch8 family will be powered by Samsung's Exynos W1000 chipset, just like the Watch7 series. So the design will be one of the key upgrades this year, along with a very small improvement in battery capacity. Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Samsung Galaxy Watch7

Samsung unveils new security features built into One UI 8
Samsung today announced a new suite of security and privacy updates that will be available in One UI 8 based on Android 16. The company also very strongly hinted at the fact that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 will be the first handsets to launch running Android 16 with One UI 8 on top. With One UI 8, Samsung is introducing Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which creates "encrypted, app-specific storage environments within the device's secure storage area, ensuring that each app can access only its own sensitive information and nothing more". KEEP helps secure your "deeply personal insights", such as routines and preferences, that enable features like Now Brief and Smart Gallery search, while supporting Samsung's Personal Data Engine (PDE). Those personal "insights" stay entirely on device, protected by KEEP and further secured by Knox Vault, Samsung's "tamper-resistant hardware security environment". KEEP protects Now Brief, Smart Suggestions, Samsung Moments, and "other on-device features that rely on user-specific inputs", thus enabling "more advanced AI experiences" without compromising privacy. In One UI 8, when a device is flagged for "serious risk", such as system manipulation or identity forgery, it will automatically be signed out of the Samsung account, cutting off access to cloud-connected services to prevent threats from spreading. When this happens, you'll be notified across your connected Galaxy devices. Samsung is also bringing post-quantum cryptography to Secure Wi-Fi, in order to strengthen network protection against emerging threats. This secures the key exchange process at the core of encrypted connections, ensuring "robust privacy" even over public networks, somehow. Secure Wi-Fi is built to withstand future attacks that capture encrypted data with the intent to break it once quantum technology matures. Source 1 | Source 2

Xiaomi 16 grabs a certification on its way to launch
The Xiaomi 16 has been rumored to launch in China by the end of September, right after Qualcomm unveils the chipset that will be powering it. The phone has now received the EEC certification, ahead of its global launch. It's unclear when that will take place - its predecessor was introduced to international markets this February at MWC, but if the Xiaomi 16 launches in China in September, waiting five months for it to make its global debut is stretching things quite a lot, so perhaps Xiaomi will change things this time around - it remains to be seen. The certification reveals the Xiaomi 16's model number for global markets, which is 25113PN0EG. The Chinese model will have a "C" at the end instead of the "G", while the Indian model - you guessed it - will end in "I". According to previous rumors and leaks, the Xiaomi 16 will have a massive 7,000 mAh battery, a 6.3" to 6.39" flat OLED display, and three 50 MP cameras on the rear (including a main with a 1/1.3" type sensor and a periscope telephoto). Samsung Galaxy S25 FE to have a flagship display
Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 FE will have a flagship display feature, unlike its predecessor from last year. According to a new report out of Samsung's home of South Korea, the company has decided to use a flexible OLED panel for the S25 FE. These are more expensive than rigid OLED panels, and thus are generally only used in flagship smartphones. Even though the S25 FE doesn't fit that bill, Samsung has apparently decided to give it this flagship feature in order to better help differentiate it from the likes of the Galaxy A series. The flexible OLED panels can be bent and thus allow for symmetrical bezels on all sides of the screen too, though it's unclear if Samsung will go this route. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Anyway, it's an upgrade compared to the S24 FE, and based on previous rumors, there won't be many others. The Galaxy S25 FE could in fact be powered by the same Exynos 2400e SoC as its predecessor. The cameras will be identical too, with one notable exception - the upgraded selfie snapper.
