Bachelor in Paradise is back on the beach for Season 10 of the steamy summer Bachelor spinoff. After taking a break last year, the franchise's fun and flirty summer series has returned with some new twists. This time around, we aren't just getting fan favorites from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette; we're also getting more time with some of the Golden Bachelor contestants. Bachelor Nation has also teased that this season will introduce new 'challenges' — and I don't think they just mean navigating the age gap in the contestant pool!
So far in the season, we've seen the arrival of the Goldens, the messy faux-triangle of Justin, Lexi and Susie and a May-December friendship between April and Jonathan. It seems like tonight's episode will take things to a whole new level with all the contestants facing "relationship challenges" and the heightened stakes of half a million dollars on the table for the strongest couple that comes out of paradise.

Golden Bachelor Mel Owens Responds To Backlash
The newest Golden Bachelor, Mel Owens, 66, just addressed his controversial comments about the age range of women he's willing to date. In June, the retired NFL player-turned-lawyer said on the MGoBlue Podcast that his dating "preferences" were between 45 and 60. He also explained that he didn't want to date any women who had "artificial hips and the wigs." His comments were met with immediate backlash, and now he's apologizing for his polarizing statements. He told Glamour that he learned his comments were wrong when a good friend, who was 65 years old, called him out. "She said, 'What you said was insensitive, and it's just not who you are.' My reference of dating was 39, 40 years old. I hadn't dated in 26, 27 years. That's what I told her," he said. "She goes, 'It doesn't matter. You've said some things that are just incredibly wrong.' And I go, 'I've got to apologize.'" Mel explained that his comments about the age range were due to his lack of knowledge about the Bachelor franchise. "I didn't know anything about the Golden Bachelor ages," he said. "I didn't know the age range because I wasn't watching it. I'm thinking, to me, the age range was 45 to 60. That's my age range. I'm thinking that's the gold years for me. My reference, again, was when I was dating at 39, 40. I hadn't dated in 26 years, so I had no clue. And that's why I said that comment." The Bachelor franchise began in 2002 and was recently renewed for its 30th season. There have been many spinoffs, including the popular The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. The Golden Bachelor is only on its second season. Mel was announced as the new lead for the ABC series on April 22. The Golden Bachelor is set to return this fall on ABC. During filming, Mel said he apologized to the women and took responsibility for his comments. "I apologized to the women on the show. When I first walked in, I addressed it. I apologized to them. I said, 'It was unfair, insensitive. I want to earn it back. Just give me the chance.'" Mel also revealed that some women spoke directly to him about the comments. "During our one-on-ones, 12 or 15 of them said, 'We appreciate the apology, and it meant a lot to us,'" he said. According to his interview, the women of the sophomore season even had an opportunity to roast Mel. "One of the dates was a roast. It was brutal. They were killing me," he said. "One said, 'Oh, when Mel was walking with me, he was using me as a cane.' And I'm from Detroit, right? One said, 'Like a Detroit pizza, he's doughy, squishy, square, and crusty.' It was good because I earned that, and I took it and I deserved it, and it landed squarely on me. They were throwing haymakers. It was good." Read the full interview here.

‘King of the Hill' Enters Its Golden Years
'It's amazing what sticks with you from the olden times,' a 'King of the Hill' character named Bill Dauterive says wistfully, in the first new episode of this animated sitcom in 15 years. It would almost be a perfectly nostalgic moment — if Bill weren't saying this from the darkened suburban bedroom he has barely left since 2020. In the meantime he has grown a long beard and let garbage pile up on his lawn. He congratulates himself for remembering the word 'window.' From its debut on Fox in 1997, 'King of the Hill' sought to balance a certain level of authenticity with its wry humor as it chronicled the lives of Hank and Peggy Hill, an average couple in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas. Some episodes spun comedy from the quotidian details of Hank's job, where he sells propane and propane accessories. Others took a more heightened approach — in one episode, Bill, his neighbor, becomes so depressed about the absence of his ex-wife, Lenore, that he begins to believe he is her — without fully breaking the rules of reality. Over 13 seasons and 259 episodes, 'King of the Hill' became a laboratory for the farcical but humane storytelling of its creators, Mike Judge (who also created 'Beavis and Butt-head' and wrote and directed films like 'Office Space' and 'Idiocracy') and Greg Daniels (who developed the American adaptation of 'The Office' and is helping to create a sequel, 'The Paper'). Now as the series returns with a new showrunner for a 10-episode revival on Hulu, its producers are trying to change and contemporize 'King of the Hill' while remaining faithful to its core values.
