Aden – British Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, condemned the 'horrific' Houthi attack on the commercial vessel MV Magic Seas in the Red Sea, warning of its devastating impact on international shipping and the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
'The attack not only endangered the lives of innocent crew members but also caused damage to another vessel in the area, increasing the risk of an environmental disaster in the Red Sea,' Sharif said in a statement.
She added that such assaults threaten the flow of essential goods and humanitarian aid relied upon by millions of Yemenis. 'The failure of Houthi leaders to respect freedom of navigation in the Red Sea continues to inflict economic damage and undermine Yemen's stability and the well-being of its people,' she stressed.
Ambassador Sharif urged the international community to adopt a unified stance to deter these repeated attacks and emphasized the importance of upholding international law and safeguarding vital shipping lanes.

Israeli Airstrikes Severely Damage Yemeni Ports and Commercial Vessels , Ambrey Says

Israeli airstrikes targeting Houthi-controlled infrastructure in Yemen have caused significant damage to key Red Sea ports and at least two commercial vessels, according to maritime security sources and satellite imagery. The Israeli military confirmed it launched coordinated strikes on the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Salif, as well as the Ras Qantib power station, in retaliation for recent missile and drone attacks launched by the Houthi movement against Israeli territory. British maritime security firm Ambrey reported that concrete docks at Hodeidah port sustained visible blast damage, and two Barbados-flagged bulk carriers docked at the time were likely affected by the explosions. No crew injuries have been reported so far. Local sources and satellite images also revealed: - Extensive fire damage to port infrastructure and storage areas. - Disruption of port operations, with vessels forced to suspend unloading. - Damage to cranes, warehouses, and customs facilities, with some estimates suggesting up to 70% of the port's operational capacity was affected. The port of Hodeidah is Yemen's primary maritime gateway, handling nearly 80% of the country's food and humanitarian imports. Aid agencies have warned that continued strikes on such infrastructure could worsen the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where millions remain in urgent need of assistance. The Israeli military stated that the targeted ports were being used to transfer Iranian weapons and support Houthi operations against Israel and international shipping. Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that 'anyone who raises a hand against Israel will have it cut off,' vowing continued retaliation.

Human Eye Center condemns Zionist Entity's treacherous aggression on Hodeidah

Sana'a – Saba: The Human Eye Center for Rights and Development strongly condemned the brutal and treacherous attack carried out by the Zionist occupation entity on Hodeidah Governorate. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the center said the Israeli airstrikes, which targeted Hodeidah Port, Ras Issa Port, and the central Ras Kathib power station using more than 50 high-explosive bombs, amounted to a blatant assault on vital civilian infrastructure. These facilities are essential for millions of Yemenis to access food, medicine, fuel, and electricity—especially under an ongoing blockade and catastrophic humanitarian conditions. The statement placed this attack in the broader context of the organized terror campaign by the Israeli regime, which continues to commit acts of genocide in Gaza since October 2023, relentlessly bombing residential areas, hospitals, refugee camps, and shelters, killing tens of thousands, primarily children and women. It added that the Zionist war machine has not stopped targeting Lebanon and Syria either, through repeated airstrikes that violate national sovereignty and constitute a persistent threat to regional peace and security. The statement emphasized that this latest escalation in the Red Sea, following the ongoing wars in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, clearly shows that the Israeli entity operates with impunity, bolstered by unconditional U.S. support, international silence, and a shameful UN stance that has effectively legitimized genocide and buried international law beneath the rubble of innocent victims. The Human Eye Center asserted that the silence of international institutions, especially the UN Security Council, cannot be seen as neutrality, but rather as outright complicity and implicit participation in these crimes, encouraging the rogue entity to continue its killing spree without accountability. The statement classified the targeting of ports, power stations, and civilian facilities as war crimes and crimes against humanity, demanding urgent international action to hold perpetrators accountable and to curb the unchecked Israeli aggression. It also renewed its call to independent human rights organizations worldwide to document these crimes and pursue international legal action, stressing the need to prevent victimized nations from being abandoned to aggression and global apathy. The statement concluded by affirming that the Yemeni people, like the peoples of Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, will not remain passive and have the legitimate right to defend their dignity, sovereignty, and national security by all possible means.
