Get the Apple MacBook Air M4 at a record-low price before the deal is gone!

If you were to ask me what the best laptop for most people is, I would have to say it's one of the M-series MacBook Airs. Which one you get depends on the price and needs, but the best one to get right now is the Apple MacBook Air M4. Not only is it the newest version, but it is also $200 off at just $799.
Buy the Apple MacBook Air M4 for just $799 ($200 off)
This offer is available directly from Amazon, and the discount applies to all color versions. These include Midnight, Silver, Sky Blue, and Starlight.
We just reported on this deal on Monday, but it's so good that we would like to remind you of it again. It's a record-low price for the Apple MacBook Air M4, and I often say it could be the best laptop for most users out there (except for gamers, of course). So much so that I find it hard to recommend anything else these days.
The Apple MacBook Air M4 is a premium laptop, so don't underestimate it because of its price. Remember, this lineup launched as a high-end offering with a portable and super-thin design. Arguably, they used to be pretty expensive, but the introduction of M-series chips made them very powerful, while keeping the prices at the same level. This change is really what made them such a good offering.
Let's start with performance. The Apple M4 chip is excellent, and this base model gets 16GB of RAM. It may not sound like much, but Apple's chips are so good that people use them for tasks like 4K video editing, RAW photo editing, and everything below that. Many of our team members use these chips (and as old as M2 ones) to process work here at Android Authority! Unless you're running specialized tasks or need Windows-exclusive software, you'll do more than fine with this one.
Design is another area where the MacBook Air excels. This one looks exactly like the M2 and M3 models, but this isn't exactly a bad thing. The full metal construction looks and feels great, offering that iconic Apple look many love. There's also the 0.44-inch thinness, which is what made the MacBook Air lineup so popular. You'll enjoy the premium backlit keyboard and large glass trackpad, too.
It also comes with an outstanding display. This model has a 13-inch screen with a 2,560 x 1,664 resolution. It can reproduce the DCI-P3 color gamut, so it's very color accurate, making it an excellent choice for media consumption, editing, and more. And while super thin, it gets up to 18 hours of battery life!
Only a few years ago, getting a computer this good at just $799 was unheard of. Especially coming from Apple, which has been known for overpriced products. It's interesting that it is now hard for competitors to match its quality and prices.
Anyways, this is a record-low price for this laptop, and it has been going for a bit now. These offers don't tend to last long, so get yours for cheap while you can!

Analysis-Europe's old power plants to get digital makeover driven by AI boom

By Forrest Crellin PARIS (Reuters) -Some of Europe's ageing coal and gas fired power plants can look forward to a more high-tech future as big tech players, such as Microsoft and Amazon, seek to repurpose them as data centres, with ready-made access to power and water. Companies such as France's Engie, Germany's RWE, and Italy's Enel are looking to benefit from a surge in AI-driven energy demand by converting old power sites into data centres and securing lucrative long-term power supply deals with their operators. The data centre option offers the utilities a way to offset the hefty costs of shutting down ageing power plants as well as potentially underwriting future renewable developments. Tech companies see these sites as a quick way to secure power grid connections and water cooling facilities, two big bottlenecks in the AI industry. "You have all the pieces that come together like ... water infrastructure and heat recovery," said Bobby Hollis, vice president for energy at Microsoft. Lindsay McQuade, EMEA energy director at Amazon , said she expected permitting for data centres to move faster at old sites, where a big chunk of infrastructure was already in place. Utilities can either lease the land or build and operate the centres themselves, securing long-term power contracts with tech firms, he said. The deals offer much more than just the sale of unused land as they include opportunities for stable, high-margin revenue, said Simon Stanton, head of Global Partnerships and Transactions at RWE. "It's more about the long-term relationship, the business relationship that you get over time that enables you to de-risk and underwrite your infrastructure investments," Stanton said. Most of EU's and Britain's 153 hard coal and lignite plants are set to close by 2038 to meet climate targets, joining the 190 plants that have closed since 2005, based on data from NGO Beyond Fossil Fuels, which campaigns to accelerate closure of coal-fired power stations. NEW REVENUE STREAMS The economics of data centre deals can be compelling for the utilities, which can negotiate a long-term power supply contract to underwrite future renewable developments. Tech firms are paying premiums of up to 20 euros per megawatt-hour for low-carbon power, said Gregory LeBourg, environmental program director at French data centre operator OVH. Data centre power demands can be anywhere from a couple hundred megawatts to a gigawatt or more. So the annual 'green premium' - the extra price paid for low-carbon electricity - on top of a base market price could potentially translate into a long-term contract worth hundreds of millions or even billions of euros, based on Reuters' calculations. One long-term option is to build an "energy park" and connect the data centre to a new renewable development, relying on the grid for emergencies, but this is a relatively new concept, industry sources said. Engie wants to double its installed renewable energy by 2030 from the current 46 GW. The group has identified 40 sites globally that it is marketing to data centre developers, including coal and gas plants that could be converted, said Sebastien Arbola, who runs the company's data centre business. One is the Hazelwood coal plant in Australia, which closed in 2017. He declined to disclose details of other sites, saying they are mostly in Europe. Other utilities, including Portugal's EDP, EDF, and Enel said they are also marketing old gas and coal sites for new data centre development. "It's business model diversification," said Michael Kruse, managing partner at consultancy Arthur D. Little. Utilities are creating a new type of business and also new revenue streams, he said. 'SPEED TO POWER' The appeal for tech companies is speed. Grid connection delays in Europe can stretch over a decade, while repurposed plants potentially offer speedier access to power and water. "You actually have the opportunity to move faster," said Hollis at Microsoft. Data centre capacity in Europe is much lower than the United States and Asia due to longer grid connection times and slower permitting, data from Synergy Research Group showed. The data centre operators can choose to buy the renewable power they need directly from the utilities in the form of long-term contracts or purchase from the power market. Real estate firm JLL is working on several conversions, including a 2.5 GW data centre at a former German coal plant and four sites in Britain for a major tech client, said Tom Glover, who works on data centre transactions at JLL. Developers do not often disclose more detail about data centre projects, including their clients, for security reasons. Britain's Drax is also seeking a partner to develop unused parts of an old coal site in Yorkshire, now partially converted to biomass. It offers access to unused water cooling equipment, said Richard Gwilliam, Drax's carbon programme director. Drax is offering a "behind-the-meter" deal where the power plant will provide direct power to the data centre and it can pull from the grid if necessary. EDF has also chosen developers for two sites at gas power plants in central and eastern France. Tech companies are willing to pay more for projects that can start up sooner as they vie for market share in a rapidly growing industry, said Sam Huntington, director of research at S&P Global Commodity Insights. "Speed to power is just the phrase we keep hearing over and over again," he said. Mario Lemieux's bid to buy back the Penguins is not close to estimated team value, report says

Mario Lemieux's bid to buy back the Pittsburgh Penguins does not come close what the team's estimated value is likely worth, according to a new report. Earlier this summer, it was reported that Lemieux, along with Ron Burkle and David Morehouse, were interested in buying the team back from the Fenway Sports Group, who purchased the team in 2021. Lemieux and Burkle sold the Penguins to FSG for just shy of $1 billion and last month, it was reported that the Lemieux group was considering its financial options that could lead to taking control of the Penguins again at some point. A new report from Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman suggests that the Lemieux group's bid for the team isn't close to FSG's apparent asking price. The only thing I've heard about that so far is that they're just well below what Fenway would want to be the number," Friedman said on his 32 Thoughts podcast. DK Pittsburgh Sports reported last month that the Lemieux group was prepared to buy somewhere in the range of $1 billion for the team. The Penguins were valued at $1.75 billion in the latest Forbes rankings in the fall of 2024, which came in the midst of franchise values skyrocketing across the National Hockey League. Friedman also referenced the recent $1.8 billion sale of the Tampa Bay Lightning, suggesting that price point could be "where the Penguins would want to be."

However, we may receive compensation from retailers and/or from purchases of products through these links. A lot of the best meal kits offer the satisfaction of making a home-cooked meal, the chance to learn a little culinary craft, maybe even a chance at some pride in your handiwork. Hungryroot (7/10, WIRED Review) isn't really like that. Hungryroot instead wants to replace your trip to the grocery store with a few good recipes. After starting as a grocery service, Hungryroot spent years piecing together proprietary AI long before AI became the byword of everything from your electric shaver to your literal kitchen sink. What Hungryroot's AI does is geared to creating personalized food menus and shopping lists, based on your every micro-preference and whim, whether that's a love of olives or a hatred of figs. A box then shows up at your door, with a mix of basic provisions, silly snacks, and desserts, along with recipes and usually some pre-prepped ingredients. Cooking is often more assembly, with recipes pieced together from premium ingredients you'd expect to find at your local organic store. A fun sauce here, a pre-cooked protein there, a corn tortilla that just wants to be livened in the pan. Most meals come together in 15 or 20 minutes, in my experience—unless they need time in the oven. A bot concierge and pre-mixed sauces do cost a bit, however, and that's where Hungryroot promo codes come in. There are Hungryroot coupons that offer 30% off or more, and Hungryroot coupon codes that offer extra free gifts for every box, for life: a protein here, a cookie there. Here's what's up. Get 30% Off Plus a Free Gift With a Hungryroot First-Time Discount The current Hungryroot discount code is good for a cool 30% off your first week's box from Hungryroot. To qualify for the discount, you'll need to sign up for a plan totaling $99 or more a week, including breakfast items, snacks, and produce in addition to recipes and ingredients. The Hungryroot promo offer also includes a free gift, which usually includes an option to get an extra premium protein like chicken or beef. You can see more information here. Take Advantage of Hungryroot Coupons for Referrals Like a lot of meal kits, there's also a Hungryroot discount code for referring your friends to the Hungryroot service—and this usually benefits both sides of the equation. Your friend who orders after using your referral code gets a cool $50 off their first grocery delivery of $100 or more—which adds up, potentially, to half off. The person who refers their friend also gets $50 off their next order, once their friend finalizes their first grocery delivery of $100 or more. So basically, everybody gets $50. Follow this link for info on the Hungryroot referral program. Unlike other offers, the referral credits seem to be stackable with other offers—so you don't miss out on any discounts by taking a referral. Take Advantage of Hungryroot Coupons for New and Returning Customers Most subscription services have hidden levels. The way to access them is to change your mind a lot. Just like some magazine subscriptions and almost all delivery meal kits and grocery subscription services, Hungryroot will chase you down with offers if you cancel a subscription or change your mind after already giving them your email. What's this mean? Usually, it means that in the days or weeks after changing your mind about Hungryroot, you'll get a coupon in the mail. So if you take Hungryroot's quiz about your dietary preferences, then don't order? A few days later, you'll likely get a sweet Hungryroot coupon code in your inbox. New subscription plans usually also come with free treats. If you cancel or pause an existing account, you may also receive a Hungryroot promo code offering your $50 or even $100 off your next order, as an incentive to return. Hungryroot retention offers will be different for each customer vary per customer, because offers are usually customized to previous orders—or the answers you gave on Hungryroot's culinary preferences quiz. Get Free Gifts for Life With Hungryroot New HungryRoot customers almost always will get a promo code for a free gift. In some ways, choose carefully: This gift remains steady, as a 'lifetime' offer. Generally you'll choose among fresh produce, a premium protein, or just some tasty pre-packaged snacks. These will keep arriving with every delivery: Make sure it's something you like!
