Lokesh appeals to Telugu diaspora to invest in Andhra Pradesh and contribute to its growth
Participating in a meeting of the Telugu Diaspora from South-East Asia organised by the A.P. Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) and the A.P. Economic Development Board (APEDB) in Singapore on Sunday, Mr. Lokesh said A.P. was destroyed during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) rule, and the present NDA Government was rebuilding the State amidst heavy odds under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, whose reputation was a big advantage.
He highlighted the investment opportunities in A.P., and asserted that the APEDB would extend the necessary hand-holding to Telugu entrepreneurs coming forward to partner with the government of their home State.
He said A.P. was following Singapore as a role model in implementing new policies, with focus on 'speed-of-doing business' and it needed the cooperation of the Telugu people in realising Mr. Naidu's vision.
'A.P. has over 1,000 km of coastline, a string of seaports and airports, highways, waterways, land, and connectivity, which make it an ideal place to invest. Also, the State has a rich talent pool,' he said.
'One capital — decentralised development' was the coalition government's slogan, in tune with which industries were being promoted in all the regions of the State, and due priority was given to the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Mr. Lokesh added.

Teach Telugu in Singapore schools, says Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu
Singapore, Jul 27 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday called for Telugu to be taught as second language in Singapore schools and inaugurated a CXO Club, to leverage the expertise of Telugu-origin chief executives of multinational corporations across the world. Naidu, who reached here earlier in the day, is on a five-day official visit to attract investments and strengthen diaspora ties in this prosperous city-state. Singapore has some 40,000 people of Telugu-origin, according to a community leader. Naidu was addressing some 2,000 diaspora members at the One World International School Digital Campus here, when he called for Telugu to be taught in Singapore schools. In addition to Tamil being one of the four official languages in Singapore (the three being Malay, English, and Mandarin), Hindi and Punjabi are among the languages taught in Singapore schools as mother tongue-languages. 'In his speech, Chief Minister Naidu called for Telugu to be taught in Singapore schools. He told me to take up with the Singapore government the issue of Telugu as a second language," Indian High Commissioner Dr Shilpak Ambule told PTI. During Naidu's interaction with people of Telugu-origin and other Indian communities, was also announced a plan to launch of Global Export-Import cell on his return to Andhra Pradesh in all-out efforts to promote entrepreneurship among some 30 lakhs Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugus living across 128 countries, a handout said here. Telugu NRIs remit some Rs 30,000 crore annually to the state, which he said he hopes to see increasing in the coming years. Naidu also shared about his P4 programme which is a 'public private people partnerships' which will have affluent individuals mentoring underprivileged members of the society to improve everybody's living standard, it said. Those who attended the event included Telugu entrepreneurs, company representatives, investors, and professionals from different countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. CM Chandrababu Promotes Investment Opportunities in AP
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has reaffirmed his commitment to addressing discrepancies in the construction partnership records for the capital, Amaravati, during his recent visit to Singapore. He conveyed this message to Indian High Commissioner Dr. Shilpak Ambule. In a meeting attended by Ministers Lokesh, P. Narayana, TG Bharat, and other senior officials, CM Naidu outlined the new policies implemented by the Andhra Pradesh government aimed at attracting investment. He revealed that the state has set an ambitious target of 160 gigawatts in the green energy sector, with green hydrogen projects already approved. Naidu also announced plans for the establishment of Quantum Valley in Amaravati, which is part of the India Quantum Mission, and confirmed that a Google data centre will be constructed in Visakhapatnam. He stated that the Rayalaseema region offers favourable conditions for investments in defence, aerospace, electronics, and the automobile industry and expressed his desire for Singaporean investments to be directed towards Andhra Pradesh as a gateway into India. During the meeting, High Commissioner Ambule noted that 83 percent of the housing in Singapore is public housing. Minister Narayana highlighted various projects underway in Andhra Pradesh and sought necessary support to facilitate investment in the state. Meanwhile, Minister Lokesh elaborated on the government's initiatives in the education sector.
