Bob Vylan dropped from Gogol Bordello European tour
The punk rap duo have faced backlash over their controversial performance at Glastonbury Festival - during which the 34-year-old singer led the crowd in a chant of 'death, death to the IDF' during their set - and they will no longer be supporting the band.
Bob Vylan wrote in a statement on Instagram: "Due to logistical complications, we have decided not to join our friends Gogol Bordello on their upcoming European tour.
"However, we will be heading to Europe in the coming months for both festivals and headline shows.'
In the caption, they teased: "Keep posted for headline EU announcements soon."
Initially, the promoter and venues in Germany removed Bob Vylan from the lineup, which Gogol Bordello has insisted was "not our decision and beyond our control".
They added on social media: "In the aftermath, we needed to evaluate the situation, and we decided to remove BV from the tour until we could fully comprehend the situation.
"After Bob Vylan posted a more in-depth explanation, a conversation was re-opened to explore their ability to be on other tour dates.
"Unfortunately, it is logistically impossible for BV to participate on the tour given the circumstances.
"We worked diligently with our friends Bob Vylan to find a solution but in the end it didn't work out.
"Gogol Bordello is comprised of members from various nationalities and celebrates international understanding consequentially, we value freedom of speech from all perspectives.'
Bob Vylan appeared on the West Holts stage at Glastonbury just before Kneecap, another controversial act.
The BBC, which live-streamed the performance, has also come under scrutiny after it emerged that its director general, 57-year-old Tim Davie, was in attendance and consulted on how to handle the broadcast.
Following the initial backlash to their Glastonbury set, Bob Vylan wrote on Instagram: "We are not the first. We will not be the last.
'We are being targeted for speaking up.'
They added in a lengthier statement that they are not for the death of any "race or group of people".
They continued: "We, like those in the spotlight before us, are not the story. We are a distraction from the story. And whatever sanctions we receive will be a distraction.'

Nine reporter Tim Arvier quits Channel 9 for a top Crisafulli government job
They reckon you shouldn't believe everything you read ... unless, of course, you read it in the Media Diary. After all, we've been warning for months now that Nine's best Brisbane newsbreaker, Tim Arvier, was likely on the move and, indeed, he is. Diary can reveal the network's award-winning state political reporter has been headhunted by Queensland Premier David Crisafulli's government to head up its crisis communications network – where he will be tasked with, among other things, containing political scandals rather than exposing them. We hear the veteran news hound struggled with making the decision to leave the network where he first began his career as a cadet reporter in 2004, but ultimately decided he was ready for a new challenge and the fancy deputy director-general title that apparently comes along with it. Of course, the pay doesn't sound too bad either. When we first revealed the network's gun state political reporter might be eyeing off the exit at its Mt Coot-Tha studios back in May, and that if the news bosses at rival Seven rummage around down the back of the coach for about $300,000 a year, they might be able to convince him to change channels. Although we hear Seven did make some furtive inquiries about procuring Arvier's services, unfortunately they couldn't find quite enough spare change under the sofa cushions. Their loss was Crisafulli's gain, though, with the execs in at George Street happy to pass a hat around and come up with the desired result. Arvier is expected to spend the next couple of weeks working with young up-and-coming reporters at Nine before wrapping up at the network at the end of the month. Although he leaves on amicable terms, his departure will leave a massive void in the newsroom. Not only a popular member of staff, Arvier was Nine's most consistent newsbreaker and often cited as one of the key reasons people opted to tune in to Nine over Seven at 6pm. He was also its most experienced journo, having spent lengthy stints reporting for A Current Affair and as the network's European and then North American correspondent during his 20-year career at Nine. Indeed, Arvier was working in Minneapolis in the US when he was named Journalist of the Year at Queensland's Clarion media awards, while also picking up gongs for best broadcast interview and best TV news report for his coverage as civil unrest spread across the city in the wake of George Floyd's death. Nine's Queensland news boss, Brendan Hockings, told Diary he was disappointed to lose a journo and a mate of Arvier's calibre, but was confident he had enough rising stars in his newsroom to keep him on his toes in his new job. 'Tim and I started in the industry together around 20 years ago, and I've seen first hand how much he's poured into his journalism career,' he said when we tracked him down on Wednesday. 'We've spoken about this at length, so I know how Tim has agonised over leaving a profession and place he loves but, in the end, he feels the time is right to take on this new role. He leaves with our thanks and best wishes. 'Nine is Queensland's No.1 television news thanks to the strength of our team across the board. 'We have a very healthy stable of newsbreakers and I'm excited to watch them take up the challenge of holding the government to account.' And to be fair (and we always try to be), Hocko's not wrong – with the Brisbane newsroom thriving under him since he was made news director in January, the station's prime-time 6pm news bulletin ratings are up 21 per cent year on year for the first six months of 2025. Arvier confirmed the move not long after we first broke the news, saying after two decades at Nine, it was time for 'a bit of a change'. 'I'll be moving away from the day to day shenanigans of Queensland politics and heading to government department land for some new responsibilities, including heading up the Queensland Crisis Communications Network to oversee events like floods, cyclones and major police/emergency incidents,' he said on social media. 'I will miss working at Nine. It's a great place full of great people and I've made many lifelong friends amongst the camera teams, producers and editors. The newsroom is in great hands and I know it will continue to thrive.' Heidi Klum has always been "very open with [her] body". The 52-year-old model came under fire in 2023, when she appeared in a racy advert alongside her daughter Leni, but Heidi hasn't allowed the backlash to bother her. She told People: "A lot of people are like, 'Oh, I don't know about mom and daughter doing this together'. "But for us? I'm proud of my daughter. She's fine with me like that." Heidi insisted that she has a typically "European" attitude towards her own body. The runway star - who also has Henry, 19, Johan, 18, and Lou, 15 - said: "I've always been very open with my body. Finn Wolfhard announces details of 2025 UK and European tour
Finn Wolfhard has announced details of his 2025 UK and European tour. Titled Objection!, it is in support of the 21-year-old Stranger Things actor's debut solo album Happy Birthday. Finn, who previously fronted the bands Calpurnia and The Aubreys, released the album in June, accompanied by the nostalgic lead single Choose The Latter and the reflective track Trailers After Dark. He will kick off the Objection! tour on 4 October with a show at La Maroquinerie in Paris, before continuing through Berlin, Manchester and Dublin. The run will conclude with a headline performance at London's Electric Brixton on 16 October. Speaking to NME earlier this year, Finn reflected on the creative process behind the album and credited his Stranger Things co-stars Joe Keery and Maya Hawke as key musical influences. He said: '(Joe) was a gigantic inspiration to me and another mentor. 'While filming, Joe and Maya were part of a fun group chat challenge where they would both write and submit a song every week. 'And I still text Joe to ask him what he thinks about song ideas. I'm hoping we can make music together – even if I wasn't credited.' Joe, 32, who plays Steve Harrington in Stranger Things, performs under the moniker Djo and released his third album The Crux in 2023. Finn joined Joe on stage in Toronto earlier this year for a live performance of Flash Mountain, a track from Djo's 2019 debut album Twenty Twenty. The actor's tour news arrives alongside the continued expansion of the Stranger Things franchise. A new animated spin-off, Stranger Things: Tales From '85, is in production at Netflix. The show is being executive-produced by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, alongside Shawn Levy, 55, who directed Deadpool and Wolverine. No casting or plot details have yet been confirmed. In a statement to Netflix's Tudum, the Duffer brothers said: 'We've always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realised has been absolutely thrilling.'
