This Chicago pizza favorite was just named one of the best pizzerias in America

When it comes to Chicago pizza, we all have our favorites. Tavern style has that addictive cracker-thin crust and convenient square-shaped party cut, while for deep dish —that legendary Windy City delight—a special pan allows for the pie to have a high edge, providing bounteous space for thick cheese and a chunky tomato sauce. One heavy slice can feel like an entire meal. And now there's a new guide that confirms what we already know: Chicago has some of the best pizza in the world. There's much debate in the Windy City around who serves up the best pizza: Is it Giordano's, Pequod's, Gino's East, Lou Malnati's? What about Milly's Pizza in the Pan, The Art of Pizza, or Rosati's? Pizza politics run deep in the City of Big Shoulders. Certain heavy hitters have always been fan favorites, but according to 50 Top Pizza, one Chicago-based pizza restaurant was worthy enough to top all of those local favorites in its Guide to the Best Pizzerias in the World. The top three award winners for best pizzerias overall, celebrated at an award ceremony at New York City's West Edge inside Chelsea Market, are Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City, Pizzeria Sei in Los Angeles, and Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, with L'Industrie Pizzeria in NYC earning the coveted Best Pizza Slice accolade. But Chicagoland held its own: Three award-winning pizzerias were represented on this year's list, with Chicago's Robert's Pizza and Dough Co. —located along the Ogden Slip in Streeterville—cracking the top ten at No. 6. It's not the first time that the local spot has featured on the list; it was ranked tenth in last year's lineup. Though every order is a good one, Robert's is arguably best-known for its Rita pie, which features house-made sausage, pork from Slaggel Farm, fresh basil, Italian buffalo mozzarella and a slow-roasted plum tomato. Robert's sixth-place win earns the restaurant a coveted spot in the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World ranking. Winners will be invited to the Teatro Mercadante in Naples on September 8 for the 50 Top Pizza World 2025 awards ceremony. Elsewhere on the 2025 guide was Coda di Volpe (coming in at No. 44) and Jimmy's Pizza Cafe (singled out as one of the country's best slice shops, ranked at No. 12). 'Year after year we are noticing changes in pizzerias across the United States that have led to increasingly interesting ideas and that are good for the entire industry,' said Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro and Albert Sapere, the three curators of 50 Top Pizza, in an official statement. 'We would also like to mention that the different styles of pizza that our inspectors get to enjoy are also getting more numerous; this is a good thing because it creates a wider variety for the customer.'

Model who was 'in Michael Schumacher's inner circle' romantically linked to Wimbledon ace

Model who was 'in Michael Schumacher's inner circle' romantically linked to Wimbledon ace Laila Hasanovic was one of the few people to be allowed into Mick Schumacher's family's inner circle, but it appears she has now moved on from the F1 star Jannik Sinner has been linked with a former F1 star's ex-girlfriend (Image: HENRY NICHOLLS/AFP via Getty Images ) Laila Hasanovic may have switched from the racetrack to the tennis court after the former girlfriend of Mick Schumacher was romantically linked to Wimbledon star Jannik Sinner. This rumour began after she was spotted during the French Open final last month. Sinner, who suffered disappointment at Roland-Garros after losing in the final, had split from former partner Anna Kalinskaya earlier in 2025 and was linked with Hasanovic during the tournament. ‌ Hasanovic had previously spent considerable time with former Formula One driver Mick Schumacher, son of the sport's legendary ace, Michael. According to Bild, she is among the few people to have been permitted into the Schumacher family's inner circle. ‌ It was reported that the F1 star's relatives were "smitten" with the model, and she was the only one of Mick's partners allowed to visit his father, Michael, following his skiing accident in 2013. However, Hasanovic appears to have moved on from Mick – and potentially to another sport entirely. The Danish model was spotted in the French Open crowd last month as Sinner battled against Carlos Alcaraz in one of the biggest major finals for some time. Laila Hasanovic was previously in a relationship with Mick Schumacher, son of legendary F1 racer Michael (Image: Getty Images ) Article continues below A week later, Sinner seemed to dismiss any rumours of a relationship with Schumacher's ex after the Daily Mail reported that a fan had spotted the pair on a date in Copenhagen. When asked about the situation during a media conference, Sinner said: "No, no, there was no girl. I had just some business with a couple of photo shootings there. That's it. Nothing else." As the Italian tennis sensation sailed into the second round at Wimbledon, speculation has mounted over whether Sinner will be supported by a new companion in his box at SW19. ‌ The 23-year-old has now been romantically linked with Russian model Lara Leito, following reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport suggesting that the two are an item. The 31-year-old model, known for her past relationship with two-time Oscar winner Adrien Brody, is believed to have met Sinner in Monte Carlo amidst his three-month suspension from tennis. Jannik Sinner is focusing on Wimbledon for now (Image: HENRY NICHOLLS/AFP via Getty Images ) Chi Magazine published photos that reportedly captured the duo on a date in Monte Carlo, fuelling curiosity about their association. Article continues below Yet Sinner appears to want to keep his personal life private, as he told the media at the French Open that he had no romantic involvement with Leito. He said: "I was very surprised to see some pictures, which, you know, nothing serious ... I'm not in a relationship. So, whoever is asking, that's it. It's all good." For the moment, Sinner's primary focus is set on overcoming world number 93 Aleksandar Vukic this Wednesday, as he aims to make it to the next round of Wimbledon.
