UAE shuts down 77 social media accounts for illegal domestic worker recruitment
During an investigation, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) found that these pages were not approved or licensed to recruit housemaids or other domestic workers.
The move was carried out in cooperation with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority during the first half of this year.
'We urge employers and both Emirati and resident families to deal only with approved and licensed domestic worker recruitment offices accredited by the Ministry,' MoHRE said in a statement.
The Ministry also warned the public against dealing with unlicensed recruiters online, as this may lead to legal risks.
'Avoid interacting with social media pages and accounts that promote unlicensed domestic worker recruitment, in order to protect your legal rights, which are ensured when dealing exclusively with offices licensed by the Ministry,' MoHRE added.
MoHRE then encouraged the public to check the official list of approved recruitment offices in the UAE, available at mohre.gov.ae.

Workshop on Documentation and Distribution of Vegetable Seeds
The Ministry of Agriculture organized a workshop to discuss a draft resolution aimed at documenting and distribution of vegetable seeds developed at agricultural research centers and those entering the country through various means. The seminar was attended by Ministry staff from all regions and agricultural experts. Mr. Tekleab Misgina, Director General of Regulatory Services at the Ministry of Agriculture, stated that the national committee established in 2024 to regulate the distribution and quality of various crops, cereals, and oil seeds has commenced its activities by developing a guideline to support its operations. In the first half of 2025, a guideline to regulate potato seed quality was prepared, and regulations for vegetable seed quality have been finalized. Mr. Tekleab added that both domestically improved and imported vegetable seeds will be assessed through specific quality measures, documented, and issued certificates before being distributed to farmers. At the workshop, participants discussed papers on the importance of documentation and regulation of vegetable seeds, and the significance of adhering to established guidelines and regulations. SIH explores cultural cooperation with Zanzibar
Leadership of the delegation The delegation was headed by His Excellency Dr Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and accompanied by His Excellency Saleh Ahmed Saif Al-Hemeiri, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates to the United Republic of Tanzania in Zanzibar. They were received by His Excellency Dr Aboud Suleiman Jumbe, Principal Secretary of the Zanzibar Ministry of Tourism and Heritage. Enhancing cultural and tourism cooperation The visit included discussions on prospects for bilateral cooperation through the implementation of cultural initiatives and training programmes, as well as documentation projects that contribute to highlighting Emirati and Zanzibar heritage on the international stage.
