'I bought Damson Madder's viral dress on sale and received so many compliments'

Fashion writer Eve Rowlands snapped up the 'viral' Mia Midi Dress in Damson Madder's summer sale for 24% less and it's one of her favourite summer purchases
When Damson Madder' s sale launched earlier in the summer, slashing up to 60% off some of its best-selling clothes and accessories, there was only one thing on my wishlist, something I'd been yearning after for some time. That was its viral Mia dress in pink, which had been reduced from £90 to £68 and was the 'IT' dress of last summer (as Grazia confirmed).
With its subtle striped pattern and bright pink hue that contrasted its black and white lines, it was a frock perfect for summer as well as the plethora of social events I had on the horizon. And it's safe to say it lived up to its reputation as not only a flattering dress, but a dress for all occasions. Let me tell you why it's one of my favourite summer purchases.
Firstly, it is unbelievably comfortable thanks to its shirred bodice that covers the entire top half, from bust to hips as the dress as a drop waist. Mia's striped design also gives the illusion of a slim, elongated silhouette, so there's not so much of a need to worry about eating a big meal and looking bloated.
Plus, because it's made with stretchy material, there won't be that discomfort often felt in tight dresses post-dinner. Designed with a maxi, full-length skirt, it also delivers ample swish for dancing - an imperative detail for a wedding.
But perhaps one of my favourite elements is the multi-way strap - which comes with the signature DM embroidered at the end. While it is mostly worn as a bandeau dress (from a brief social media search), it comes with two straps attached to the side, which can be tied at the front across the bust, at the back in a bow, or as a halter neck. Each way delivering a unique look.

While I've mostly worn it as a bandeau style, I'm waiting for the sunshine to return to crack out the halterneck style. For those wanting a bit more support, Nobody's Child has recently launched a version of its best-selling Starlight dress that is decorated in pink and red stripes. Its puff sleeves and cinched-in waist are elegant and flattering and make for a great wedding guest dress.
For shoppers who don't mind the lack of shirring but want a halterneck option, I love this diagonal striped OMNES dress which features orange stripes on a hot pink background. Costing £85, the Elsie Striped Dress in Pink and Orange comes in sizes four to 16, sadly, 18 and 20 are out of stock.
Having taken the Damson Madder dress out for a spin at a recent wedding, I can confirm it ticks all the boxes needed to be wedding guest appropriate. It dresses up well, can be danced in, is comfortable enough to indulge in a three-course wedding breakfast, and garners so many compliments.
Oh, and it's breathable during a heatwave: it kept me cool enough in 30C heat. On the occasions where I did get a little too warm and inevitably sweated, the dress dried rapidly thanks to its 100% organic cotton design.
My advice, however, is to give the dress a wash before taking it for a spin in a heatwave to avoid any potential colour transfer. I say this as the black dye from the dress' stripes transferred a little onto my legs during a relatively warm portion of said wedding.
That being said, it didn't affect the look of the dress at all, just my own legs. It was easy enough to get off so it didn't ruin the purchase for me. Plus, due to the style of the material, the skirt can become creased quickly, although it doesn't take long to drop out.
Another thing to note is the sizing with the brand can sometimes be a little oversized. I chose my usual size 10, having done some research and while it didn't swamp me and the dress stayed up with no worry of it falling down, I felt it could have been a little more snug.
This is an issue I have experienced with other Damson Madder clothing, causing me to send my order back. So, be sure to check the sizing chart before your purchase.
Although that being said, this Mia Midi dress exceeded my expectations and made me feel comfortable, confident and cool and I'll certainly be wearing her at both casual and smart occasions for the foreseeable future. Available in sizes eight to 18 currently (with sizes six, 14 and 20 out of stock - at time of writing), the dress is available from Damson Madder on sale for £68.

And in a new episode, fans will see the daughter of two very famous actors make a surprise guest appearance. Ella Stiller is the daughter of Hollywood royalty Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor. She pops up in the episode titled 'Better Than Sex,' and plays the role of Mia. Read More on SATC DRESS STRESS My pal's SATC-inspired dress for her brother's wedding is so inappropriate Mia gets pregnant with Miranda's son Brady after they hook up, and a fiery confrontation ensues as Miranda confirms with Mia that Brady is the father. Brady sits down to tell his parents, and Steve is far from happy about the news. 'You were just getting your life together, and now you have f****d it up so bad' he says. Brady admits he'd only found out about the pregnancy because he'd bumped into Mia and she was clearly pregnant. Brady doesn't know whether Mia will keep the baby or give it up for adoption. And Just Like That's new teaser sparks conspiracy theory that Samantha Jones is BACK after Kim Cattrall season 2 cameo Later in the episode, Miranda is seen visiting Mia in the hair salon where she works and quizzes her on the pregnancy, while pretending not to be Brady's mum. Miranda tries to subtly question her about the father of the baby, to which Mia replies: 'He's cool, I guess. It's not like we're gonna raise the kid together. F**k buddy status, you know?' Not too long after, Miranda admits: 'I'm the 'f**k buddy's mother,' which quickly leads her to getting her face sprayed with water and a frosty exchange of words ensues. Funnily enough, Ben and Christine's daughter already has a connection to Sex and The City, given that her grandma Anne Meara - who passed away in 2015 - played Steve's mother, Mary, in four episodes of the original series. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Ella had landed herself a role alongside a House of the Dragon star. The blonde actress will be appearing alongside Emily Carey, who played Lady Alicent Hightower in the HBO series, in a new off-Broadway play. As well as Ella's famous dad, she also has a famous mum too. Christine Taylor starred as Bonnie in Friends and in The Brady Bunch Movie and Zoolander. The young actress has joined the cast of Before This New Year, a play written by Liana Sonenclar that will run Off-Broadway in New York City. Ella will take on the role of Jen in the play, which is about a former high school track star called Alison Bennett. At present, the play has been indefinitely postponed, with a statement from the production provided to Playbill reading: 'The production team is immensely proud of the work that has gone into developing this piece and grateful to all those who have contributed to its journey so far.' 5 Ella Stiller is the daughter of Hollywood royalty Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor Credit: Getty

Emma Roberts' viral Damson Madder dress now has more than £30 off

The Rachel Ruffle Midi Dress - Pink Burgundy Stripe is currently on sale at Damson Madder for £93.75 down from £125 You know a dress is having a viral moment when one of Hollywood's starlets is spotted in it, causing a ripple effect of fashion fans racing to snap it up. Emma Roberts, star of American Horror Story, Wild Child, We're The Millers, Scream Queens and more, is seemingly a fan of Damson Madder and shared a photo of her sporting the Rachel Ruffle Midi Dress with its pink burgundy stripe earlier this year. The 34-year-old actress, who is the niece of Hollywood icon Julia Roberts, shared the picture of her in the Damson Madder frock to Instagram in April as she posed with fellow actress and director Kristen Stewart. While fans of the star went mad for the dress then, we've discovered that it's currently on sale and now costs less than £100 - as opposed to its normal £125 price tag. Retailing at £93.75 in the brand's summer sale, the ' Rachel Ruffle Midi Dress combines a drop waist silhouette, sweet ruffle detailing and side pockets on the skirt, with a bold stripe print for impact'. For those who really want to make an impact, the brand also offers a matching bag and scrunchie in the same burgundy and pink stripe for a cohesive look. Made from 100% recycled polyester, the dress has a gorgeous A-line shape with frills decorating the square neckline and spaghetti straps. A great option for any summer weddings, the dress looks to have a relatively shimmery finish and, complimenting its corset like bodice, its waistline is slightly dropped with a nice draping detail, giving it a really interesting look. Despite being in the sale, it's still available in sizes six to 18 (size 20 is out of stock). Stripes are a popular design choice this summer, with a whole host of brands introducing dresses bearing the print - such as ASOS, Nobody's Child and more. For those who don't quite fancy the burgundy and pink combination, the ASOS DESIGN poplin dropped waist racer maxi dress in yellow stripe is currently £45 and has a yellow and brown colourway. Its high neck, drop waist and racer back make it flattering, comfortable and versatile. To add a few more frills to the look, Debenhams is offering its Coast Lisa Tan Polo Stripe Midi Tie Shoulder Dress, in the same burgundy and pink hues, for £47 down from £119. It features a tiered skirt and tie straps. Fans of the actress were quick to comment on her Damson Madder dress on Instagram, with one follower writing: "Gorgeous OMG girl." Someone else commented on Damson Madder's own post sharing Emma's picture: "Summer done RIGHT," while someone else added: "Obsessing." While there are no reviews of the Rachel dress to be found on the website, from experience, Damson Madder sizing tends to come up a little large, so it may be best to consult the size charts to ensure the right fit is bought. Over on TrustPilot, reviews echo this, with one stating: "Blouse is beautiful! I usually wear a 12-14, the 12 fits perfectly, sizedown if unsure." Another shopper noted that returns have to be paid for: "Least expensive shipping option is £5 and you have to pay for return shipping out of your refund." However, a fan of the brand said: "I've fallen in love with this brand! The products are absolutely lovely -well made, thoughtfully designed, and always a joy to receive. "But what really makes the experience even better is their amazing customer service. They respond quickly, are super friendly, and always willing to help find the best solution if you have any questions or issues." The Rachel Ruffle Dress is available on Damson Madder for £93.75 instead of £125.
