After the meeting, Nadda said Gadkari assured them that the central govt would not leave any stone unturned to help Himachal and the roads damaged by the disaster would be repaired on a war footing.
The vision presented by the central minister regarding road construction technology, tunnels, and bridges will significantly benefit Himachal, Nadda added.
The health minister said the pace of development in the rural areas of Himachal would now accelerate.
The central govt has approved a material budget of Rs 201 crore for the state under the first phase of MNREGA, he informed. This amount will expedite small and large projects, including steps, pathways, and roads at the panchayat level.
Nadda mentioned that Himachal had been consistently receiving funds from the central govt under the national disaster relief fund and the state disaster relief fund, with over Rs 5,000-crore in aid already provided to the state.

Recalling the 2023 monsoon season, Nadda mentioned the disasters in Mandi and Kullu, during which he had visited Himachal three times. He recalled that Rs 3,146 crore in relief was provided by the central govt to the hill state.
Recently, the central govt allocated Rs 2,006 crore to Himachal for rehabilitation under the NDRF, totalling Rs 5,152 crore, said Nadda.
Also, more than one lakh houses have been provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and roads worth over Rs 3,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, he added.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday termed as 'baseless and irresponsible' Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's claim his party had uncovered an 'atom bomb' of evidence proving voters lists were manipulated on a large scale, and said that it ignores such statements. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said the Congress began investigating after noticing irregularities during the Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Lok Sabha elections. He alleged that over 10 million voters were fraudulently added to the rolls. (Sansad TV) 'We dug deep because the Election Commission wasn't helping,' Gandhi told reporters outside Parliament. 'What we found is an atom bomb. When it explodes, you won't be able to see the Election Commission in India.' The Leader of Opposition said the party began investigating after noticing irregularities during the Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Lok Sabha elections. He alleged that over 10 million voters were fraudulently added to the rolls. 'There was a suspicion in the elections in Madhya Pradesh and the Lok Sabha, and it deepened in the Maharashtra assembly polls. At the state level, we believed there was a vote theft,' Gandhi said. 'It took us six months to study this in detail.' Gandhi issued a warning: 'Whoever is doing this, from top to bottom in the ECI, we won't spare you. You're working against the nation. This is treason.' In response, ECI said, 'The Election Commission ignores such baseless allegations being made on a daily basis and despite the daily threats being given, (it) asks all election officials to ignore such irresponsible statements and work in a fair and transparent manner.' ECI said it had sent a mail to Gandhi on June 12 after previous allegations, but had not received a response. The latest accusation comes amid a broader protest by the opposition INDIA bloc over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar's electoral rolls, which they claim is a BJP-backed attempt to disenfranchise voters. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had also blamed the poll body on July 6, saying, 'With the cooperation of the Election Commission, the BJP's master plan to deprive crores in Bihar of their voting rights now seems to be ensnaring them. Following a joint strategy meeting, the INDIA bloc parties on Thursday announced they will intensify their protests –– both in and outside Parliament. 'Will Rahul Gandhi explode like a bomb? What do you think? Their job is to explode. They have no other work to do,' BJP leader Sambit Patra told reporters at the BJP headquarters. He said the Opposition party speaks of such things because they have no faith in democracy. 'We are those who have faith in democracy. Rising construction costs hinder progress of PMAY-G scheme in Mys and Ch'nagar
Mysuru: The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G), the flagship rural housing scheme aimed at providing houses to the homeless in rural areas, is facing significant delays in the twin districts of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar, largely due to the soaring cost of construction materials and labour. In Mysuru district, 20,908 houses were sanctioned for the fiscal year 2024-25. However, only 64.4% progress has been achieved so far, while Chamarajanagar district achieved only 27.2% progress. Against the target of constructing 20,908 houses in Mysuru district, 13,462 beneficiaries have taken up the construction of their houses after receiving the allotment letter. The remaining 7,466 beneficiaries who were identified are still waiting for the allotment sanction letter. In Chamarajanagar district, of the 39,317 houses targeted for construction this fiscal, only 10,681 have been sanctioned. That leaves a backlog of 28,636 houses yet to be built in the district. Houseless people living in kutcha houses with walls and roofs made out of mud, grass, and other non-durable materials, living in one room, were identified as beneficiaries. Under the scheme, the Union govt provides Rs 1.2 lakh grants for the construction of a house for general category candidates and Rs 1.8 lakh for SC/ST beneficiaries. In addition to this, the beneficiaries can also claim Rs 31,410 for 90 days of work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme. The ZP also provides Rs 12,000 to general category candidates for the construction of individual toilets and Rs 20,000 for SC/ST beneficiaries separately under the Swachh Bharat Mission. "Govt must increase the grants provided for the construction of houses under the scheme as beneficiaries struggle to complete the construction of houses with less grants of Rs 1.2 lakh for the general category and Rs 1.8 lakh for SC/STs when prices of steel, cement, labour charges, and other construction materials and expenditures are increasing day by day," said HM Sambram, former president of Benakanahalli GP of T Narasipura taluk. Speaking to TOI, Mysuru zilla panchayat chief executive officer S Ukesh Kumar said Mysuru district stood first in the state in the implementation of the scheme when compared to other districts. "Some other districts achieved only 10%," he stated. The CEO said all panchayat development officers will be instructed to expedite the construction of the houses under the scheme.

Ex-CJI Khanna to appear before joint polls House panel on Aug 19
Former CJI Sanjiv Khanna is scheduled to interact with the Joint Committee of Parliament on the 'One Nation, One Election' (ONOE) Bill, on August 19, according to the meeting notice issued on Thursday. The committee, chaired by BJP MP P P Chaudhary, has held nine meetings so far. Former CJIs D Y Chandrachud, J S Khehar and U U Lalit have already interacted with the committee. As per the notice, the committee will hold a meeting on August 11 and interact with political scientists and experts and then hold the meeting with ex-CJI Khanna.
