Araghchi says Iran cannot give up on nuclear enrichment

Ammon News - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Fox News that Tehran cannot give up on its uranium enrichment program which was severely damaged during the Israel-Iran war last month. WHY IT'S IMPORTANT Prior to the war, Tehran and Washington held five rounds of nuclear talks mediated by Oman but could not agree on the extent to which Iran should be allowed to enrich uranium. Israel and Washington say Iran was close to enriching to levels that would allow it to quickly produce a nuclear weapon, while Tehran says its enrichment program is for civilian purposes only. KEY QUOTES "It is stopped because, yes, damages are serious and severe. But obviously we cannot give up (on) enrichment because it is an achievement of our own scientists. And now, more than that, it is a question of national pride," the foreign minister told the Fox News show "Special Report with Bret Baier" on Monday. The foreign minister said the damage to the nuclear facilities in Iran after U.S. and Israeli strikes was serious and was being evaluated further. Araghchi also said Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was in "good health" and that Tehran was open to talks with Washington but that those will not be direct "for the time being." Reuters

Jordan Sends 35 Additional Aid Trucks to Gaza Today - Jordan News

Jordan Sends 35 Additional Aid Trucks to Gaza Today The Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, Hussein Shibli, said on Monday that the organization is currently preparing between 30 and 35 humanitarian aid trucks, set to head to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, carrying food supplies. اضافة اعلان Shibli explained that the current situation in Gaza is drastically different from the past, pointing to the unprecedented closure imposed by the Israeli occupation since October 7, 2023, along with systematic starvation and thirst inflicted on the population. He added that there is a clear and deliberate effort to starve and dehydrate the residents of the Gaza Strip, which has led to a state of despair and slow collective death due to hunger. He emphasized that the primary concern now is ensuring aid reaches those in need. Shibli described the situation in Gaza as 'extremely dire,' affirming that Jordan is exerting efforts on all levels—both diplomatic and humanitarian—through direct relief programs or in coordination with organizations inside the borders. The Secretary-General stressed that the current method of delivering aid is disorganized and called for opening the borders and allowing the entry of sufficient aid quantities. He warned that the ongoing chaos in distribution leads to people fighting over a loaf of bread or a single meal. He affirmed that it is impossible to achieve true aid relief unless there is a qualified and capable entity to distribute the assistance in an organized manner that preserves the dignity of Gaza's residents and ensures effective and safe delivery to those in need. — (Al Mamlaka TV)
