Movie Tea: Nicholas Hoult Addresses Kelsey Grammer's Return As Beast; Script For 'Batman II' Finally Complete
Here's what you need to know to keep yourself up to date on upcoming movies out of Hollywood.
Nicholas Hoult Opens Up About Kelsey Grammer's Return in 'Avengers: Doomsday'
Ever since the announcement of 'Avengers: Doomsday', alongside the cast reveal, many have been absolutely hyped for the cinematic event. Not only did it confirm the return of the most familiar faces in the current MCU, but it also confirmed the return of many actors from the Fox Marvel movies!
One of those returning Fox faces is none other than Kelsey Grammer, who is largely known for his depiction of Beast in the 'X-Men' series back in the early 2000s. He is, of course, joined by other legends of his era, such as Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. Naturally, many of the more recent actors of the same legendary characters, such as James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, have taken a step back to watch the OGs do their thing, but one of them decided to give a piece of their mind about this move and it's none other than Nicholas Hoult, the most recent actor for Beast.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor discussed the news of Grammer returning to his role of Beast. In it, he fully confirmed that he will not be returning at all for Phase 6 of the MCU. He then added that he is 'excited' to see Kelsey don the blue make-up.
'Kelsey was a great Beast,' said Nicholas Hoult. 'He was the Beast I saw when I was a kid, along with the other actors that they're bringing back, Patrick and Ian and James and all them. Those were the characters that I got to watch in X-Men movies. I'm excited to see what they do with it. It'll be fun to see how they incorporate those characters into that world.'
Though it is saddening to know that Hoult will not be returning to the MCU anytime soon, it is quite understandable as to why. There's no denying that names such as James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, and Alan Cumming have a more potent nostalgia factor when it comes to older fans and have a greater legacy compared to the 'X-Men' prequel stars. It is also worth mentioning that the series' last film, 'Dark Phoenix', ended with more of a whimper rather than a triumphant roar before Fox was ultimately acquired by Disney, ending the series entirely.
However, hope is not lost yet, as Hoult has yet to have any discussion with Marvel. Though the possibility of him returning is unlikely, it is not impossible. Remember: as grand as 'Avengers: Doomsday' is, it is still a precursor to 'Avengers: Secret Wars', and Disney is simply keeping the prequel stars as an ace in their back pockets.
Matt Reeves & Mattson Tomlin Complete 'The Batman: Part II' Script
After almost three and a half years, Matt Reeves has finally completed the script for Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman'. Yes, it is quite hard to believe after so many delays and pushbacks, but it is real this time. And the proof can be found in Matt Reeves' official X post, where he and co-writer Mattson Tomlin can be seen in the background with the completed script taking centre stage.
Of course, even though the script has been officially penned, we still have no info about what it contains. Naturally, coming out fresh from the oven, the two writers have not yet decided or locked in on any other new casting that we might see for this upcoming sequel.
Pair this up with the release of James Gunn's 'Superman' being just around the corner, and we can't help but feel or hope for a potential crossover event between these two DC titans! Of course, we still need to see how things shake out before we start daydreaming about any collaboration movies. We'll get to see the Caped Crusader swing into cinemas again on 1st October, 2027.

#SHOWBIZ: Chart domination: Fictional K-pop acts beat BTS, BlackPink in US
LOS ANGELES: A new K-pop musical animation, "KPop Demon Hunters," has stunned the music industry by propelling its fictional bands to the top of US music charts, eclipsing established K-pop groups. The film is currently the most-streamed movie globally on Netflix, accumulating over 33 million views within just two weeks of its release, according to a BBC report. On Friday, "Your Idol," a song by the film's fictional boy band, Saja Boys, soared to the No.1 spot on the US Spotify chart. This achievement makes them the highest-charting male K-pop group in US Spotify history, surpassing even the reigning "kings of K-pop," BTS. Adding to the soundtrack's remarkable performance, "Golden," a track by the movie's fictional girl group Huntr/x, secured the No.2 position on the same chart, surpassing BlackPink as the highest-charting female K-pop group. The "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack has also made a significant impact on the Billboard 200 in the US, entering the top 10 and marking the highest debut for a soundtrack this year. Recognising its potential, Republic Records is set to release "Golden" as an official single, and Netflix is reportedly submitting it for awards consideration, as reported by Variety. "KPop Demon Hunters" narrates the adventures of the superstar female trio, Huntr/x. Its members – Rumi, Mira, and Zoey – lead a double life as "badass demon hunters," covertly safeguarding their vast fanbase from supernatural threats. During their concerts, Huntr/x's music serves as a powerful shield against the forces of darkness. However, their arch-enemies are the rival Saja Boys, a malevolent group of demons in disguise. The Saja Boys, comprising Jinu, Abby, Romance, Baby, and Mystery, have been dispatched by the demon king Gwi-ma with a sinister mission: to steal the souls of Huntr/x's devoted fans. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, "KPop Demon Hunters" was co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, with the story based on an original concept by Ms. Kang. The film's musical triumph is perhaps unsurprising, given the involvement of top producers such as Teddy Park, known for his work with BlackPink, and Lindgren, a frequent collaborator with BTS, who were part of the album's creative team. The surging popularity of "KPop Demon Hunters" coincides with significant developments for real-life K-pop titans. South Korean mega-stars BTS are on the cusp of a highly anticipated comeback, having announced this week their plans to travel to the US this month to commence work on new music. The seven-member group is slated to release a new album and embark on a tour next year, following the completion of all members' mandatory military service. Meanwhile, BlackPink has kicked off its inaugural all-stadium world tour on July 5. The group, which has not released an album together since 2022's Born Pink, unveiled a new song, "Jump", at the commencement of their Deadline World Tour.

'K-pop Demon Hunters' Soundtrack Climbs Charts, Rivals Tracks By BTS, Rosé & Katseye
'Kpop Demon Hunters' have been on the rave since its release. Thanks to the talented fictional groups HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys, the film has gained traction, not only from fans but also from K-pop idols and groups. Adding to the film's success, the two fictional groups recently debuted on Billboard's Top 100 music charts, with their tracks 'Your Idol' holding #77 place and 'Golden' not that far behind at #81. Surprisingly, these songs have surpassed recent chart entries by BTS (방탄소년단) and KATSEYE (캣츠아이). As a result, many in the industry are taking notice. Critics have praised the film's music for its polished production and authentic K-pop sound. The success signals a shift, where animated groups can compete alongside real-world idols in mainstream music charts. The animated film is a musical packed with plot twists, romance, and action. Since its release on 20th June (Saturday), its songs have taken over listeners' playlists. Tracks like 'Soda Pop,' 'Golden,' and 'Your Idol' have become instant earworms. As a result, real-life idols have started covering them. For instance, A.C.E. leader Park Junhee (박준희) performed 'Your Idol,' while Ahn Hyo Seop (안효섭), the voice actor for Jinu, covered 'Free.' During the BTS reunion livestream, RM (아르엠) surprised fans by singing a snippet of 'Soda Pop' from 'K-pop Demon Hunter'. The moment quickly went viral, prompting Netflix to update their official Twitter bio to: 'BTS NOTICED SAJA BOYS 7.01.25.' This playful change fueled even more buzz around the film and its growing cultural impact. Unfortunately, Saja Boys and HUNTR/X couldn't beat ROSÉ and Bruno Mars' 'APT', which is still leading at #28, impressively staying on the charts for 36 weeks. The song continues to dominate streaming platforms and radio, setting a high benchmark for other artists to beat. Nevertheless, fans of 'K-pop Demon Hunters' are eagerly watching the fictional groups and monitoring their success. Many also wonder if these virtual idols could surpass 'APT' and become the most famous K-pop acts worldwide. HUNTR/X and Saja Boys' rapid rise and viral success suggest that the boundary between reality and animation is fading. This growing hype has sparked lively debates among fans about the future of K-pop and the power of storytelling in music. Sources: Billboard, Koreaboo Zaima Humaria contributed to this article
