Actor Jeff Daniels roots for Republicans who voted for Trump to lose money
Actor Jeff Daniels said in a new interview he hopes that Republicans who voted for President Donald Trump will lose a lot of money. "But when Mitch [McConnell] started stacking the courts 25 years ago, I said it on your show once, they can see it coming," Daniels told Nicolle Wallace in an episode of her podcast "The Best People." "The new America that is diverse and treats everyone with equality and respect and dignity, you know, kind of like Jesus did. We're ready for that." "And Mitch and company could see it coming. They were going to be the minority, so they just started and then here we are, and now you got it, and now you're losing money," Daniels added. "I hope you're losing tons of money, those of you who thought this would be OK," Daniels went on. "My question is, what are you guys going to do about it?" Wallace responded, highlighting how Trump won Michigan, and decried the president's tariffs. "I mean, Michigan voted for Trump this time again," Wallace said. "I mean, the tariffs are going to hurt your neighbors, they're going to hurt." Daniels agreed, saying that he thinks Trump's tariffs will be what ends up damaging the 47th president the most. "Which I think, at the end of the day, that's what's going to do it," Daniels said. "'Wait a minute, the grocery bill is what? $180 more? I can't get that car that we have to have unless I pay another $8,000. What? Who do I blame for that? Who do I see about that?' One person." Wallace said the country has seen a loss of "decency" over wanting more affordable goods. "And I feel like some of the conversations we've had over the last 5-6 years were about this tug, not between right and left, but between decency and maybe if it's about the cost of things, decency became a luxury. There's something about decency being the sort of collateral damage, the thing we lose over wanting cheaper eggs," she said. "Do you think it was ever really about cheaper eggs?" Wallace asked Daniels. "Well, I think at the end of the day it would be about just the price of eggs, did it go up or down, because that's what he told me he was going to lower the price of eggs or my grocery bill," Daniels said. He went on to call the president a "snake oil salesman." Fox News Digital reached out to the White House and Daniels for further comment.

Marvel's Fast-Approaching Epic Is a 'No-Homework-Required Movie'
Call it the summer of not worrying if you understand superhero movies. After DC's Superman dropped audiences into a sprawling world with very little exposition, the next Marvel epic, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, will do much the same, but in an entirely different way. In fact, although the post-credits scene of Thunderbolts* teased a huge connection between Fantastic Four and the rest of the MCU, this next Marvel film requires no previous knowledge of any Marvel movie, ever. "It is a no-homework-required movie. It literally is not connected to anything we've made before," Marvel boss Kevin Feige said in a new, wide-ranging interview with Variety. "We always were planning, even before that became a talking point, to introduce them [the Fantastic Four] in their own world in which they are the only heroes."So, while longtime Marvel fans should certainly expect a post-credits scene that teases how the Fantastic Four will connect to Avengers: Doomsday next year, the actual movie itself won't be jammed with references to the rest of the MCU. As all the trailers have teased, The Fantastic Four: First Steps takes place in an alternate timeline, in which the titular heroes are astronauts, and the technology of the 1960s is much more advanced than it was in our universe. How all of this connects to the larger MCU isn't really the point. For now, Marvel wants you to simply enjoy the story of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm on their own terms. The Fantastic Four were created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, and first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1961. At the time, the success of the title was something of a surprise in the world of comics and led to a Marvel Comics renaissance in the 1960s. Can the new Fantastic Four do something similar for the MCU in 2025? We won't have long to wait. Basketball Fans Boycotting Kelsey Plum After 'Petty' Behavior
Basketball Fans Boycotting Kelsey Plum After 'Petty' Behavior originally appeared on The Spun. Kelsey Plum is one of the most popular players in the WNBA with over 1.2 million Instagram followers and a lucrative Under Armour deal. That being said, it sounds like fans are starting to turn on her. Plum, who is in her first season with the Los Angeles Sparks, competed in the WNBA All-Star Game this past weekend. The two-time champion is averaging 20.1 points and 5.8 assists per game for her new squad. Prior to tipoff on Saturday night, Plum and every player participating in the All-Star Game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse wore shirts that had this message on the front: "Pay us what you owe us." During her postgame press conference, she talked about how the shirts came about. Although it wasn't necessary at all, Plum felt the need to throw shade at clark. "It was a very powerful moment. As players, we didn't know that that was going to happen. It was a genuine surprise," Plum said. "The T-shirt was determined this morning. Not to tattletale, but zero members of Team Clark were very present for that." WNBA fans were shocked by Plum's remarks. They thought she came across as petty and childish. Some people are so disappointed in Plum that they refuse to watch her play moving forward. "See me personally, if I worked in an industry where one of my coworkers was about to increase my earning potential by 500% or more I would simply not attack them every time the chance presented itself," one person said. "You can totally tell why this league didn't work before hand. Players like Kelsey plum are never in the headlines unless they say stuff about CC bc they know people are going to say their name. It's so petty and childish," a second person wrote on X. "They simply cannot stop dumping on the woman who is single-handedly making the league popular and relevant for the first time. And it's so obviously driven by petty, self-destructive jealously," a third person said. "I can't stand Kelsey Plum anymore. She's a real life hater," a social media user commented. "Kelsey Plum is unwatchable, her hate and jealousy is next level," another user declared. As of Monday afternoon, Plum hasn't addressed any of the backlash she's receiving on social media.
