Huskers land prediction for top player in the state of Nebraska

Class of 2027 four-star safety Tory Pittman has been projected to the Nebraska football program by Rivals' Greg Smith. Smith put the prediction in on Friday. Pittman is one of the most coveted prospects for the 2027 class. On top of this, he is the top prospect in the state of Nebraska and the second safety in the 2027 class overall, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Pittman has visited the Nebraska campus several times. He has taken one visit this calendar year, doing so on March 27. He has visited the Huskers six other times, with his first visit coming on April 9, 2024. The safety is coming off a strong 2024 season that saw him record 54 tackles, a sack, and three interceptions, per statistics from The safety will be a challenge to keep in-state, as he has tremendous talent and attention at a national level. Smith's prediction is certainly encouraging, but there is still a long way to go between then and signing day. Nebraska rising with two top receiver targets

Nebraska football could be getting two more wide receivers in short order. 2026 three-star wide receiver Nalin Scott received a crystal ball prediction from Chad Simmons on Tuesday evening. 2026 three-star wide receiver Larry Miles also received a crystal ball prediction from Steve Wilfong on Monday. Miles and Scott have been connected to the Huskers for some time now. Scott received a prediction on Sunday as well, and Miles has visited the Huskers multiple times. Both receivers would be solid additions for the program. Miles recorded 68 catches for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior last season. Scott tallied 29 receptions for 541 yards and two touchdowns last year. Both receivers have a promising senior season ahead of them and would be solid additions to a 2026 recruiting class that is beginning to gain some momentum. The class itself ranks 56th overall nationally, but that could change with more commitments coming. Miles and Scott would be another solid pair for the program. Michigan State Football Must Battle Big Ten Rival Nebraska for Class of 2026 Running Back Target Jamal Rule

Michigan State Football Must Battle Big Ten Rival Nebraska for Class of 2026 Running Back Target Jamal Rule originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Michigan State football team was late to the party in recruiting this three-star running back out of Charlotte, N.C. Now as decision time is nearing, it seems that the Spartans' biggest competition is an in-conference rival. Advertisement The three-star recruit is planning to announce his commitment on Monday, June 3 around 6:30 p.m. EST. Michigan State Spartans running back Le'Veon Albrecht/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Michigan State extended an offer to Jamal Rule on June 9 and scheduled an official visit with the rising senior for June 20. The week before, Rule took his official visit to Nebraska. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Rule is the No. 779 class of 2026 overall recruit, No. 48 running back overall, and No. 33 pick out of North Carolina. While he currently has five schools listed in the running for his commitment — North Carolina State, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, and MSU — signs are pointing to a two-way Big Ten race for the running back. Advertisement On June 22, Rule announced on X that his commitment will be decided a day later. While June has been quite a month for the Spartans, their class of 2026 lacks in the running back department. Tight ends Joey Caudill and Eddie Whiting, and wide receiver Zachary Washington and Tyren Wortham are the only ball handlers committed outside of quarterbacks. Head coach Jonathan Smith successfully recruited Wortham and flipped his decision from UCF to secure two wide receivers, but he now needs to redirect his attention to the vacant position. It speaks volumes that MSU is such a close competitor to land the running back considering how late the offer came, but Nebraska has been applying pressure since extending an offer on Jan. 4. One Big Ten school will more likely than not reel Rule in, but it's uncertain if that will be the Spartans or Cornhuskers.
