EastEnders update from Alfie changes everything as Stacey makes a choice

Metro6 days ago
There's an update from EastEnders' Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) this week that puts his wife Kat Moon's (Jessie Wallace) dream of buying The Vic under serious threat.
Alfie has been away from the Square in recent weeks, and unbeknown to Kat, he is in Spain trying to track down her estranged daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan).
Meanwhile, last week's episodes saw Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) suggest to Kat that they should buy The Vic using a surprise life insurance payout Stacey received following Martin Fowler's (James Bye) death.
Plans are set in motion to make that suggestion a reality on Monday, as current owners Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) get ready to hold an auction on the boozer.
As the Slaters excitedly discuss the prospect of Kat becoming the new landlady, her happiness is short-lived when Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) voice concerns that buying the pub may not be the best way of spending Martin's money.
However, there is an ulterior motive behind Ian's words, as he is also planning on bidding for the Vic and is keen to see off the competition.
But a call from Alfie could end up changing everything anyway, as Stacey is forced to make an agonising decision about the money.
Reeling from Alfie's mysterious update, Stacey drops the bombshell on Kat that she can no longer lend her the money, leaving her devastated.

Stacey's mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) certainly seems to think there's more to it, becoming convinced that Alfie is secretly helping out Hayley Slater (Katie Jarvis), who he shares daughter Cherry with…
As the clock ticks down to the auction, Kat's dreams lie in tatters – will she find another way to secure The Vic, or is the iconic pub about to become the crown of Ian's local business empire?

'The spa is absolutely beautiful, the views are stunning and I am feeling very tranquil. It's Scotland at its best,' said Punam, 42. 'The ice plunge pool is the only thing that I will not be trying. ‌ "You couldn't pay me to jump into that. Gorka would love it. He does ice water baths every day, but I cannot do it. Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of thermal facilities, including a salt steam room, aroma steam room, pink Himalayan salt sauna, hydrotherapy pool, cold plunge pool, and an ice fountain. ‌ The spa's design draws inspiration from the estate's past and the glamour of the golden age of travel, with luxurious finishes including black marble, antique gold touches, crystal detailing, and plush quilted textures. EastEnders rushes to make major episode change as two huge events shake the nation

EastEnders fit in an urgent last minute scene with Elaine and Callum amid everything that had been going on in the real world away from Albert Square... The residents of EastEnders ' Albert Square are often too caught up in their own lives to take notice of what's going on in the outside world - but this week, matters were too large to ignore. ‌ This week saw the tragic death of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 76. In the world of sport, England's Lionesses made it to the Euros finals once again beating Italy with a 2-1 win in an epic semi-final. ‌ Despite the soap being filmed around 6 weeks in advance, the events seemed too major to not mention – with producers fitting in a scene at the last minute. It's not the first time the soap have done this. The same happened with the death of Michael Jackson and the death of Queen Elizabeth II. ‌ On Thursday night, Elaine Peacock and Callum Highway were seen stopping for a chat outside the minute mart, as they discussed the results of Tuesday night. As Callum asked Elaine how she was coping after Kat took over the Vic, Elaine responded: "Well, I can't be too down after that England match. I mean, 2-1?" "I'm going to tell you something, there's going to be a lot of kids named Michelle and Chloe in nine months time," she said, referencing players Michelle Agyemang and Chloe Kelly who scored the winning goals for the team. ‌ However, it wasn't the only current affairs event the soap slipped in. Other fans noticed that the soap played a Black Sabbath song in the background, in the wake of Ozzy Osbourne's tragic death. The song Paranoid could be heard in the background of the market. Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter to show their appreciation to the soap for the last minute scene. "Love it when they do these," praised one fan. "Can't be easy!" ‌ Another commented: "A beautiful last minute scene! The tribute to Ozzy Osbourne following his death and the nod to the Lionesses making the final of the Euros! Love it when #EastEnders do scenes like this." "I love how #EastEnders added a blink and you'll miss it tribute to Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne," a third wrote, while another agreed: "omg i loved that new scene put in between callum and elaine, nice touch with ozzy playing in the background." EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Angry mum leaves Butlin's after 'beds wet' and daughter had 'poo on hands'

Mum Jasmine took to TikTok to share her disappointment with the accommodation at the Skegness holiday park. Butlin's has apologised after a family checked in to a "grimy" and "damp" room which was "in need of a massive deep clean". ‌ Mum Jasmine took to TikTok to share her disappointment with the accommodation at the Skegness holiday park. ‌ Sharing clips of the filthy room with her 19,000 followers, she said: "I could make a 10-minute video on all of the issues in here but here's some of them." ‌ Jasmine, who went on to give a tour of the room, added: "Even walking up to the room I felt grimy. This is the Butlin's comfort room. This is my sign to not blindly book something hahaha." As reported by the Mirro r, she said they couldn't stand to sleep in the room for more than one night as she showed dirt throughout, including in the shower and the bin. ‌ In her voiceover, Jasmine said: "I was meant to book the apartment but I didn't realise. When I first walked in there and I saw there's only two rooms and one bathroom in the middle, I thought, 'Where's the rest of it?'. "I am going to emphasise that was not Butlin's fault at all though to be fair - it was my fault. So anyway I don't know if the videos can do it justice because the smell when I walked in there was just absolutely wild. "This isn't the cleaner's fault or anything like that - it's the turnover rate is the issue. These rooms need massive deep cleans because a quick once over is not going to help." ‌ "I didn't even want to shower in there - in fact, I didn't shower in there. I ended up going to the swimming pools to have a shower. "We spent one night in this room and the beds were so damp - my daughter even woke up asking why the bed was so wet. "I can't explain the smell. I know I keep saying it but it was horrific. The mould was over the windows, there were cobwebs up the walls... This was a dead bug on our bed and then our daughter got poo on her hand walking out and I was like 'nah, that's it, 100% I am going.' ‌ "The stuff kids can do here is amazing though - I will not fault Butlins for that. It is just a shame about the room." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. A spokesperson for the holiday park said: 'We're sorry and disappointed to see the cleanliness issues the guest experienced with their accommodation. This certainly isn't the high standards we expect our guests to receive when they holiday with us. We carried out a full reclean and offered a gesture of goodwill which was accepted.' ‌ Others shared similar experiences in the comments, with one person writing: "This looks so much cleaner than our room [laughing emoji]." Another person said: "Skegness I had the most horrible room haven't ever gone back. It was a hot year window broke couldn't open it, bedding didn't get changed stuff left under the bed etc was horrible." However, another visitor insisted they had only ever had positive experiences at the holiday park, writing: "Which Butlin's is this?? We've always been to skeg one and never had a room like this. That's grim."
