NBA Summer League: Jazz rookie Ace Bailey drops 18 points, throws down 2 huge dunks in win over Grizzlies
Ace Bailey, at least so far, seems to be fitting in just fine in Salt Lake City.
Bailey dropped 18 points and had seven rebounds and three assists in the Utah Jazz's 112-111 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night in the Utah Summer League. He even threw down a huge lob after a perfect assist from Isaiah Collier in the second quarter.
Bailey had 12 of his 18 points in the first half after he shot 5-of-9 from the field. He threw down another dunk in the third quarter, too, after picking up a rebound.
The dunk of the night, though, belonged to teammate Kyle Filipowski. He brought the ball up the court near the midway point of the third quarter and went straight at the rim before throwing down a one-handed dunk over GG Jackson.
Finally, thanks to a 13-3 run capped by a Bailey 3-pointer, the Jazz jumped out in front in the early minutes of the fourth quarter. That was enough to give them the edge the rest of the way and lead them to the one-point win, which moved them to 2-0 so far in the Utah Summer League.

Jackson led the Grizzlies with 27 points and five rebounds in the loss. Jaylen Wells added 23 points, and Cam Spencer finished with 23 points after going 7-of-10 from behind the arc.
Though Bailey had a strong showing all around, it was Brice Sensabaugh who dominated for the Jazz. He put up 37 points while draining six 3-pointers and shooting 9-of-14 from the field. He came up with a huge steal in the final seconds, too. Jackson, however, hit a buzzer-beater right after that was just inside of the 3-point line — which left the Grizzlies just a point shy of forcing the extra period.
The Jazz took Sensabaugh with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2023 draft out of Ohio State, and he averaged 10.9 points and three rebounds largely off the bench last season. Cody Williams finished with 18 points for the Jazz, too, and Isaiah Collier added 13.

The game was the second Summer League action Bailey has seen so far with the Jazz. He had eight points in his debut , which came against No. 3 overall pick V.J. Edgecombe.
Bailey was widely considered to be the No. 3 overall pick in the NBA Draft earlier this summer, but he declined to work out for any franchise. In fact, he was the only American-based prospect who didn't work out for any team outside of the combine. The Jazz, however, still opted to take him fifth. Then, after a bit of awkwardness, Bailey reported to the team and declined that he had any issue with the franchise.
'Nah, not at all,' Bailey said when asked if he considered not reporting during his introductory media conference last month . 'Just blessed to be in this position I am.'

While it's still very early in Bailey's playing career — he's yet to make his debut with the franchise in a real game, after all — he's clearly off to a solid start with the Jazz organization.

49ers sign WR Marquez Callaway, QB Carter Bradley
The 49ers announced a number of roster moves on Thursday, including the previously reported additions of running back Ameer Abdullah and wide receiver Andy Isabella. Two other players who tried out alongside Abdullah and Isabella on Wednesday also landed spots on the roster. Wide receiver Marquez Callaway and quarterback Carter Bradley signed with the team. Callaway played two games for the Bucs after making 45 appearances for the Saints over his first four seasons. He had 83 catches for 1,069 yards and seven touchdowns while with New Orleans. Bradley spent last season on the Raiders' practice squad. The 49ers made room for the new arrivals by waiving or releasing wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, offensive lineman Sebastian Gutierrez, wide receiver Malik Knowles, and safety Jaylen Mahoney. They also activated offensive lineman Ben Bartch off of the non-football injury list.

Scott's birdie binge keeps FedEx playoffs in sight
Adam Scott has rung off four consecutive birdies and shot a five-under-par 65 in the first round of the Wyndham Championship, not far from the position required to crash the FedEx Cup playoff starting next week. The Australian had missed a four-foot birdie at the Wyndham Championship in 2023 to snap his 16-year streak of reaching the playoff. He said he felt more "motivation" than pressure taking to the course knowing he likely requires a two-way tie for third or better to have a reason to fly to Memphis for the FedEx St. Jude next week. 4 straight birdies for Adam Scott! He's moved into the top-5 @WyndhamChamp.📺 @PGATOURLIVE on ESPN+ — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) July 31, 2025 Scott addressed his mindset heading into the tournament. "I'm going to need to get like 20-under to think of anything, so I better not be one-under through day one or I'm going to leave myself a lot of work, so nice to make a few birdies," Scott said. "And of course as much as I think about moving on, I'd like to win this tournament, so that's - it's a similar kind of scenario for me." Starting his round at the 10th hole, Scott turned in an uneven opening nine with two bogeys and three birdies. He clicked after making the turn, including a run of four consecutive birdies to climb the leaderboard. On the par-four, 426-yard fourth - Scott's 13th hole in the first round - he rolled home a birdie putt bending it back to the right from below the hole. At No.5, Scott stayed with the short stick from well off the front of the green with his third shot. From nearly 60ft out, he rolled the ball to a stop inside of two feet for the tap-in birdie and carded two more birdies at No.6 and No.7 to briefly jump into a tie for third. Perhaps his best shot of the day was the 33ft putt at the par-three seventh. It was his seventh birdie of the round. By the time he signed his scorecard, Scott and playing partner Jordan Spieth were tied for fifth and two back of the leaders. Scott has two top-10 finishes at Sedgefield. He did not play last year after taking second at the Scottish Open and tying for 10th in the Open Championship. This season has been more of a grind. Scott, who celebrated his 45th birthday two weeks ago, is still chasing his first top-10 in 2025. He last had a top-10 in 2024, at the BMW Championship where he tied for second. Fellow Australian Cameron Davis shot a two-under 68, seven off the lead
